a game full of cool characters capcom can no longer include into future titles....
thats too bad cause Kairi was awesome.
I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS THIS GAME WAS THE S***!
@ #2 What do you mean was? It still is the sh**. Love my Ex series.
Does anyone know an emulator that can run ANY game out of the EX series?
@#13 Cauptain
The tag system in EX3 felt quite nice compared to that of SF x Tekken. You didn't lose immediately you lost one character, and the clock was actually done right.
Its own form of Cross Assault was also great.
Ah no wonder I never played this game, it came out around the same time as Capcom's best 3D game ever - Project Justice!!!!!!!!!!
Weirdest cast? You mean the BEST cast. 3rd strike has the weirdest cast hands down
I still have my import copy of "Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha" on PS1... I remember getting it from either "Game Cave" or "Japan Video Games" and wondering if I even ordered the CORRECT game, when I only previously knew the title of the game as "Street Fighter 3D". lol
I had a similar issue with "Street Fighter Alpha", when it was originally known as "Street Fighter Legends". I got my copy with my PS1, back when the games came in those ridiculously big/long boxes, before they started using regular CD jewel cases. lol
I played the heck out of SFEX+Alpha, but didn't really get into SFEX2 and SFEX3 much. I mean, with how much I had been playing MVC2 over the past decade or so, along with other great Capcom fighting games of the time, I didn't really feel interested in Arika's vision of how Capcom's Street Fighter games played...
I know that characters like Skullomania have a huge fanbase, so of all the characters in those games, he's the only one I wouldn't knock. I DO love the drawn artwork for some of the characters' portraits, but I got sick of the way the polygon models looked, the "hallway view" when that orange-haired retard throws his "Fireball!" super at you, and the "DHC" super chains were just silly looking and impractical to even use, most of the time.
Oh, and the overall character design for characters like the orange-haired retard, the Cracker Jack guy with the homoishly tight pants, the severe overload of shoto-type characters, dumb@ssed D.Dark and his retarded looking moveset... ugh...
--And the crappy FMV/CGI endings for SFEX+Alpha were just so barfable.
I DID remember liking a bit of the soundtrack for SFEX+Alpha, so at some point, I downloaded Chun Li's and Sakura's themes to add to my music collection. :)
I still play this game over many new titles. Could it use work of course but even with that in mind the game was still pretty good. It had one frame inputs, counters, tag team battle, four player match. Basically with a few tweaks this game would be great. Just wish Capcom Fighting All Stars would have come out. Still say that game too could have been a huge hit.
I've said before but, T x SF could really use these developers' help.
The EX series are some of the best titles in the franchise IMO.
I thought the graphics and UI actually held up quite well over time. Of course I watched it in a smaller YT window so that may have helped but everything looked pretty clean given it was released in 2000.
I too wish some of the Arika characters could come back. D.Dark was my favorite from the first game even with his odd voice and moveset. Something about him was awesome.
One day maybe!
