Hasn't Qanba had dual modded sticks for ages?
http://www.play-asia.com/Qanba_Real_A...
What's so special about this one in that regard?
The company Eightarc goes hand in hand with qanba. Its also visible in the video itself. Just watch 8:09 its on the plastic bag
I never had a problem with my stick sliding on my legs lol (stop oiling up! xD), but what I've encountered is that if I play in shorts in cross-legged position (at home) the metal coating kinda "erodes" due to skin contact. The new non-metal plate should also be a solution to that problem I guess.
It says Eightarc and Qanba is working together on the website, that explains why Qanba's logo is printed on the plastic bag. I'm happy to see there's more joystick makers, so that the main stream big companies would stop being cheap and reproduce the same stick over and over with different art on it.
These are awesome, wonder how customisable they are?? but for that price i'd say they are probably the best stick going now. dual mod is the way forward, I like where this is going!! good stuff all round, review could have been a bit better though, I personally couldnt care less if he only likes the plain finish sticks, he chats a lot of s**t lol
Think i'ma have to get me one of these :P
Not bad, I suppose. The overall premise of more quality arcade stick makers to keep each other "in check" is nice. Now when you start seeing four or five decent manufacturers and they start cutting their own throats by slashing retails, is when you and I will truly see the benefits.
This Eight-Arc thing however; has me alittle curious. I like the idea of a dual-mod that does not require an additional 360 pad in order to function. The size and comparable weight, resembles that of the MadCatz, which is nice. I do not want something in my lap that is so small or lite, that I feel that I need to be "gentle". Let's face it: most players do put these devices through somewhat of a "stress test" every time they plug one in - myself included. I also like that Eight-Arc seems to offer additional face plates on their site, right out of the gate. Unlike the video's author, I either want to see a favourite character design on my stick, or nothing at all. Huge company logos do not interest me in the least bit. Now if the could release the dual-mod on the Onyx platform... that might just make rush out to buy one.
As far as the video is concerned - the Eight-Arc would definitely serve themselves better by finding someone who would review the product itself and not just take us on a tour of their collection, while illustrating to us on the use of his superior linguistic and camera skills. He isn't being paid?.. geez man. You received over $400.00USD in free merchandise for your personal amusment. Least that could have been done was to make a quality video. Show us more than the box and outside shell. Could have opened it up to illustrate design quality and modding potential. How does it feel and play? Responsiveness? Any noticeable lag? For what the company received in return, I just feel that this review could have been far better. I think I got more out of this by just going to the website. And that was from the link here at EH. Maybe they should have received the sticks instead?
theyre so pretty... i just shelled out $117@capcom store for the round1 stick on sale though.
im going with @14 with this one because the camera work was so flippin annoying. it reminded me of watching battle scenes in war movies, asking myself why all of those war movie cameramen were epileptic.
I just sent my order for one of these. Waiting for it any day.

Please keep in mind that the dual mod stick has a bit of a different setup than the stick Aris covers here, i.e. start buttons and such aren't built into the side, they're on the face of the joystick.
