I watch Sako and I just can't understand how he does the things he does.

you weren't even here to read his comments. all he said was:
"Sako > Daigo"
and that Sako has more raw talent that Daigo, since Daigo is just a tier whore. that was all.
and for good measure, he retyped "Sako > Daigo" just for luck (as in, "here's to hoping this doesn't get removed, AGAIN")
but much to his prediction, a moderator removed that post. maybe because that post could be misconstrued by some people as instigation.
either way, he wasn't attacking Daigo as a person, only as a player by calling him a tier whore.
@17, wasn't he using Yang(considered S tier)in GG4? Just saying. This talk about tier whoring is getting annoying. It's deviating from the post which is to focus on Sako interview(not branching out to pro or against-Daigo subjects). I guess, Michael Jordan gets talked about to this day despite Kobe and Lebron. Oh well...Looking forward to some new Ibuki tricks from Sako though.
@16 yeah, you're absolutely right. sako really does stick to his all female characters. can't say as much for daigo. and since when does sticking to a character indicative of a 'stand up guy'? but unlike daigo, who so far only uses ryu/yun (thus, tier whore), Sako takes to the liking of female characters to which i completely relate.
ibuki is a solid character in the right hands. daigo could never pull that one off. but you can't blame daigo, though. the guy is sponsored and has an obligation to win tournaments. i have respect for him, but i'm completely justified to criticize his playstyle choices.
@Okay (kind of true). It is decided by fan voting but based on charachters a player registers. Sako was using Yang in endless battles(against Sasaki) for his training regimen before votes were tallied. Another example, Kindevu had registered Evil Ryu to be voted on. Otherwise people would have voted him for the character he's the most efficient with which could have been Yun,Seth and few others(notes before I get hammered:Kindevu did not end up in top 10 votes and ended up participating in the qualifier with E.Ryu[he could have chosen another character at that point but did not do so]). For example, as a player I could choose to be voted on for Ryu and Ken and let fanboyism determines that. Fans cannot vote you for a charachter you do not want to use. Your range of character is predetermined.
Anyway, I find Sako very exciting to watch with his combos exhibition. I respect both players. But this recycled topic of putting Daigo's name in every thread is ridiculous. Judge players on their merits and give them some shine;do not always compare them automatically to some legendary World Guiness Record holder. But who am I kidding? To this day, basketball players who are talented in their own right always get compared to his airness MJ.
@Jupiter: yeah, daigo is such a tier whore that nearly every player idolize him and say he is the best player. Only stupid fanboi denied his success and talent. You call him tierwhore but how many tier whore won as much as him? Going with Ryu in Vanilla and Super is tier whore but not Cammy?
Still, Sako is my 2nd favourite player after Daigo. His executions are flawless
Calling any top player a "tier whore" is absurd. If anything, I respect someone who purposefully chooses a powerful character more than somebody who tries to be all noble by picking low tier. If you want to pick a low tier character because you like the character or enjoy the challenge then that's great but competition is competition... Picking a top tier character is universes away from being subject to criticism. It's not analogous to cheating or trying to harm your opponent outside the game... It's the equivalent of a football team's coach playing the best players available as much as he can and calling the best, most effective plays in the playbook as the centerpiece of the strategy. Would it be noble for Bill Belichick to start the third string or run crappy plays just to be interesting or something?
