Hit the jump to see the LGG transcript. Tip from Yaqoub, Alex_MMorales and Fawaz.
Here’s what Yaqoub from LuckyGenGamers (tester) has to say:
“The wave dash is not invincible to low projectiles like Sagat’s low Tiger Shot as seen in the video. Kazuya also cannot be thrown by either normal throws or command throws, as shown against Hugo.
Looking at this a bit more in-depth, Kazuya is not at an advantage (from what we currently know) because of the following:
1. The wave dash is unsafe when not cancelled into another wave dash. Kazuya can be hit otherwise.
2. Kazuya can only follow up with a punch button which will pull off an EWGF (Electric Wind God Fist, or even “doriya!” for short) and it seems like it’s unsafe when blocked.
3. Returning to neutral/idle state from a wave dash takes a while and Kazuya can be hit.
I’m not sure if you can use any kick buttons after the wave dash to get his spin-kick move but the Jab follow-up (jumping uppercut) can be continued with a kick button to get that spin kick move.”
They should make his hitbox really low while dashing, but then change the hurtbox so that it REALLY HURTS when he gets hit out of it. Like Gen crane stance cr.hp counterhit kind of hurt.
It'll make sense. Running into a fist is way less pleasant than just simply getting hit.
what are the inputs to even dash in this game? i always assumed itd be forward,forward in which case i dont see how you could possibly wavedash that quickly. am i mistaken?
Wow, Sagat's Super looks NICE. Where's the tune from?
@11 An old Japanese PC freeware game called La-Mulana, it's out on Wii now.
Why nerf ! it can be countered by a low hit -> combo.
And take away the only advantage Kazuya has against the SF casts' projectiles? No thanks, at least he can't go through Low Tiger Shot, so at least let him have something against them.
@18 if "no one" plays him in 4 what do you have against him?
@25 yes but i also realize that people whine about nerfs and buffs for their short comings against characters the game isn't out yet and the developing team on this project will tune games up as they see fit then people will cimplain and they will patch this or that then people will complain about something else it's like a never ending cycle nothing in the game move wise is set in stone but people acting afraid of moves before they have even played the game is again pitful
I honestly wouldn't care if there was one character so powerful the he was on some S++++ tier I still wouldn't think he needed to be nerfed... Anyway though enough of that i really like the backgrounds and game models it's like SF4 with a bit more detail and it runs very smooth looking I really can't wait for the game to game out I def could go for R.Mika there are definitely alot of wrestlers but say the cast eta in the high 40's then hey why not
@Getdownbrown83 I don't understand. You don't care about balance?
@6 just because you see el fuerte in the billboard does not mean he is confirm. They might have that in there because of since they can't put curtain characters in the game they might as well put cameos in the game.
I do but not enough to have things changed after the game hits the market then I will just Play it as is I have never complained about op characters or moves never will that's just me nothing will ever be completely balanced and I think capcom has always done a fine job at it I trust them so it's not anything I worry about
@34 Why, isn't them trying to balance things out a good thing (unless they completely screw something over)?
Capcom
Sakura
Karin
R.mika
Cody
guy
Bison
juri
Tekken
Asuka
Roger jr.(just like him)
Lars
Ailisa
Law
-for me this would rock
all I'm saying is capcoms finished product will be fine in my mind in the balance department they haven't disappointed me yet some characters will be stronger faster have better moves and to me I just say oh well I will still spend hour after hour enjoying the crap out of SFXT and from the looks of it with a couple more of my favorite characters (hopefully) this will be one of my top games it jut looks so dang fun I'm way to hype for this
#22 Well there are one or two who do play him, but i cant get any matchup practice so i loose even against bad el fuertes.
And hes just an awefull design in my opinion. I am all for unique characters, but i dont like him.
And like i said in my original post, the spot should go to a loved character, not a character that already is in a Game of this generation and isnt even liked by anyone exept for maybe 20 people in the world.
@ 41
oh cool. yea its funny cause you have a point with the loved character thing and fuerte is just really hated by alot of people. the ones who dont know the match up ofcourse.
i main him and i do think the spot should go to karin or others like her but if everyones pleased i would love fuerte to join the crew if capcom can make him fit in this ABCD type of game.
@Asmiliz
As a general rule of thumb vs ElF, everything that you've learned not to do with your character on a typical matchup is exactly what you should be doing against ElF. =P
For instance with Bison spamming out random crouching HK or random psycho crushers are some of the dumbest things you can do in a normal matchup. However against an unknown ElF player it is exactly what you should be doing. ElF will generally want to be spamming out runstops and wall jumps. While this enables him to apply random pressure, it makes it hard for him to punish your dumb unsafe moves.
Once you catch ElF with some cheap shots it will get him to CALM THE FUK DOWN and you can actually start to fight him and the matchup changes quite a bit. But when playing random ElFs online, don't be afraid to be just as random and just as dumb as he is.
@23
...yes.
I know. I been around for a little while, and I am very fond of sarcasm.
But when a topic like this gets posted, folks always either start freakin' out about what they think are confirmed characters, gdlk exploits, buffing what they THINK is unfair cause they maybe afraid of a technique that could throw a wrench in the flowchart way they play.....
Its like going to a fair and watching 4yrs olds go nuts about magic tricks.
For the people complaining read below the video. It explains that he is at a disadvantage if he doesnt cancel the wave dash into another and the only move he can do out of the dash is his punch move but that is telegraphed since its the only option not to mention a low hit will knock him out of the dash. This is only helpful for getting to maybe sweep range not close range. Quit complaining without doing research
This needs the M.O.D.O.K. theme playing when done

I play with makoto and she doesnt really have spammable moves exept her axe kick and i do start mashing and go random once i feel unsafe with my normal game but that usually makes it worse. But with her its kind of ok because i catch a few bad timed body splashes with her uppercut so i at least win against bad fuertes.
With Juri and Rose i never won against a fuerte. But i guess i could try to go for random dive kicks and wheels. I just feel so dirty doing that. But i will probably forget it anyway because im probably not going to fight another fuerte for at least a month because hes so freakishly rare. Thanks for your tips thou.
#MonkeyCha0s do you maybe happen to play on Pc?
The Mist Step that Kazuya uses in Tekken creates some good opportunities, such as setting up a simple launcher. But in SF x Tekken, this is gonna be extra useful for fireballs.
I dont see what the big deal is... if you read below the video he's at a disadvantage, and cant really stary any offense off of the dash. I think it looks funny. I'd love to play a Kazuya online to see him dashing at me like the road runner kicking up all that dust LOL
Props for the La-Mulana music.
I'm not too worried about that wavedash unless everybody suddenly buys a Hitbox and does it on command. I'm sure everybody will just start sweeping more if people do it too much.
#53
actually something like this could pose a problem. say for example team a which has kazuya is going against team b.
they both fight long and hard and with 10 seconds left on the clock. team a has the advantage in health. unless team b has someone who can shoot low projectiles (i.e. sagat), team a (kazuya) can run the clock using this method of wavedash.
hell as a form of ultimate trolling team a could probably just land a few hits in the beginning and then just run the rest of the clock just wavedashing.
only way he could lose is if he messes up a wave dash.
still yet though i see this as pretty annoying, even though i'd probably do it myself.
@31
that was one of the dumbs comments I've heard in a while. You do realize that Hilde being S tier help ruin Soul Calibur 4 competitive scene.
I also want this wavedash changed. I don't think its consider a nerf or buff. I just think it look ridiculous.
Of course this will get fixed. This is obviously something that's broken. But hey, it's a build. And I bet 90% percent of these people who are defending this as perfectly acceptable just want to keep it in the game so they can exploit it every time. Gutter trash.
@57 and like I said I could care less capcom will have everything plenty fine by the time it comes out and I don't play games competitively so it doesn't affect me any and people have access to these tools as well I play with
What I'm given I don't complain about stuff people think is broken or whatever capcom has never created anything that bad where it made a game unmanageable because of one single move or character that's called weakness, and cowardice scared of one characters move I mean their dash that is laughable
Well maybe I should say I don't play games at tourneys or for money unless it's in my house with a bunch of friends
this totally needs to be nerfed before the final release...
