Too bad there are almost no good Spider-man players testing this game. I mean, it's great that they found an OTG for him, but it's hard to learn much if they don't understand how he plays in the first place. The changes a Spider-man player really needs to look for are how they tweaked his hitstun deterioration(if at all) and if the OTG is quick enough to extend something longer than a magic combo.
Ah well. Enough whining from me. Game's out in a couple of months anyway.

It's an odd glitch with Spider-man, Maximum Spider doesn't work properly for DHC's. For whatever reason it causes whacky things like the opponent flying really high, going into the background, or getting super close to the screen.
I only know this because my brother uses Spiderman and we've only ever been able to find a few hypers that connect via DHC (most are full-screen long lasting hypers like Wesker's Phantom Dance). I was kind of hoping they'd fix it, but it looks like they haven't.

I also want to add that the odd visual effects (I.E. close to the screen, far from it, etc.) are all temporary and last for a split second, but during the duration the opponent can't be hit which is what makes DHC-ing with it so difficult.
@8 from all the builds of UMvC3 that I played, they still flip in the air when DHC-ing out of cinematic hypers, however the damage and hitstun do not reset as they did with the glitch. I believe the reasoning, from some press release or another, was to leave the spinning knockdown in to allow for combo creativity, but to remove the damage and hitstun scaling so as to not allow the "broken glitch" (in quotes because I do not want to share my opinion here and spark a debate, take it as you will). So if you catch them with a random cinematic, you could still DHC to, for example, Ammy's slow down and continue to combo (with proper scaling) and get more off it than just another damaging DHC.
Firebrand air throw combo? I'll make a note of that.

I actually don't like the "in the lab" stuff. I wasn't asking for anything crazy either. It's just that Spiderman's BnB combo is very long and has a lot of hit deterioration (And is pretty unfamiliar to people who don't use him). It's hard to say if the OTG will be worth anything if it's not able to follow it up. I don't think I ever use a normal magic series with Spidey.
It would be cool if there were just one AVERAGE Spidey player who knew the basics and test stuff out so that we could start dreaming about possibilities.
Okay, I went back and looked at the video again and I'm an idiot; I forgot about the the DHC spinning knockdown for all cinematic hypers...it looks like they did actually fix the odd visual effects caused by DHC-ing Maximum Spider in Vanilla MvC3.
As a Spidey player, I'm loving the otg web zip. Wonder if you can cancel it into ultimate web throw or maybe pull yourself in with the otg web zip, hit a jumping S on the way down, and relaunch?
@1 having cr.m whiff has nothing to do with it, its the hitbox, making him cancel cr.h from cr.m will make no difference. it will still whiff unless they fix the hitbox

ok wtf is this denjin mode? why don't they just give Ryu a Dark Hadou mode, similar to Dante's Devil Trigger, or maybe Phoenix's Dark Phoenix.. wouldn't that make more sense than having him shoot multiple hadoukens and whatever other awkward things he can do?...or maybe he have to wait for the UMvC3 Arcade Edition for the evil Ryu?

Well, considering that Ryu has the Joudan Sokutou Geri kick from SF3, when Ryu has been cleansed of the Satsui No Hadou, maybe this is to show his potential without giving in to the dark side of the Force lol. But is this the official name? Denjin Mode? As in the Denjin Hadoken from SF3? Denjin means something electric, so is this supposed to be some kind of electric mode? I thought it was going to be named the Power of Nothingness, like the power Gouken uses.

um... i'm not talking about adding new characters, i'm talking about the improvement (or hindrance) of a character already in the game...your argument is invalid
and i'm only saying they might as well add in the dark hadou, something that is well-known and familiar, rather than try to incorporate a random, miscellaneous function that makes hadoukens bounce off of walls, because right now it doesn't really look like it does much else.

Ryu's whole thing right now is tapping into that higher limit without going all Akuma. He's only even been "Evil" Ryu once in canon, and that was when he gave Sagat the scar.
And all "Dark Hadou" mode would do is turn him into Akuma, at which point one asks "why not just play Akuma?" Screw that.
..couldn't you make that same argument with Dante and Vergil?

I was wondering the same things... especially the Ultimate web throw... that would be bada$$. Cant wait to get In the lab and try some things out. Come up with some crazy combos cancelling everything into webzip lol
Nice to see That Cap Is looking MUCH better then he did in Vanilla. And as a Ryu Player as well, I cant wait to see what REAL stuff I can come up with using this New Denjin Mode. Sucks about that red Life tho... but i guess thats a fair trade. Hurry Up November!!
