Zhi looks absolutely ridiculous. Lose the cap, dude.
T Hawk vs Blanka toughest match in the game? LOL. Try Guile vs Bison... that matchup is way too safe for Guile. A bad matchup isn't decided based on the crappy people you play, even if you are a good player... there are not many good hawks in singapore.
as a top 20 hawk player in japan with a 10k+BP (psn, live in tokyo), i can assure you, this really IS one of the worst matchups in the game... it's at the point where i beat a guy with only 128 points total and felt relieved, ugh. it's almost entirely pointless to play it; you have NO good punishes to almost ANYTHING. blanka can attack, for free, almost constantly. i've just started taking up Oni as an option -- however, i suck with him so far; difficult to adapt to a ahoto/rushdown mindset after playing hawk for so long, hah ;p
Not saying it isn't a bad matchup, just not the worst.
Guile vs makoto is worst, Hawk can just time cr. lp to punish horizonal balls and slowly getting in, while buffer dp for jump ins, what blanka can do in this situation? rest is up to footsies.
Lol, as a Zangief player, I can assure you Blanka is a nightmare. You have to turtle and Focus bait his damn balls. Lariat is useless because of his slide/electricity.
I know it's bad for T. Hawk, now that Blanka knocks, it's going to feel twice as bad. :P
I gotta say, Guile/Sagat are often impossible match-ups for certain characters. Guile vs. T. Hawk I would say is even harder than the Blanka match. At least when you got Bison, you can pressure with scissors after a knockdown and cross up to make Guile lose his charge.
@Raven: i feel your pain, i sometimes dabble in a bit of gef ;)
i'll take the guile match over blanka ANY day though, heh. the main difference is that once you're in --IF you ever get in ;)-- it's much easier to STAY in. against blanka, you get in and he can escape with a minimum of fuss. one trade and he's gone, and vertical ball/electricity make it near-impossible to do any cross-up mixups which (obviously alongside footsies) are the foundation of good hawk pressure. the idea that his escape options will also knock down?! "youch"
Hakan needs a little more juggle opportunity! EX Oil Rocket (the squeeze-grab) needs to send the opponent much higher into the air than the regular Oil Rockets. This should then grant Hakan the ability to catch his opponent with an Ultra 2 — Oil Combination Hold, Oil Dive, Etc.
@75dpi: "I find Zhi frustrating at times to watch, at one end he's really insightful and has great knowledge about the game. On the other hand he can be super annoying and comes tried to hard to be funny when it doesn't quite work."
I know what you mean. His Zangief play was solid, too.
I think the annoying part is the faint smirk he is always wearing, as if he's so amused by how funny he thinks he is that we're supposed to be, too. Maybe this will fade with more broadcasting experience.
I assume there's more to it?
