A future title update for Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition will add some new functionality to the game, but this will follow after the currently detailed patch hits in about a week, according to Capcom's Christian Svensson.Seeing as how 3sOE was a success why not do the same with Street Fighter Alpha 3? Just add the same features from 3sOE — Magnetowned
Svensson: It's way too early to call SF3:OE a success just yet. That said, we still have more to talk about on the SF3 front (new title update in about a week, new DLC coming, another title update in the future that adds some new functionality, etc.) before we consider doing other projects.
Is there any reason the opening/attract sequences were removed from Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix and Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition? — Monkey
Svensson: There was never one planed for 3SOE that I'm aware of. I'm not sure of the exact reasons but a couple of obvious ones would be that it wouldn't make sense with the new UI and need for widescreen support so it would have had to have been completely redone.
Would you guys consider making a disc version of UMvC3 that includes all DLC characters? — Greg
Svensson: Guys, as I said at Comic-con, we haven't announced any DLC for UMvC3.
Where's the exclusive content for the X360 release of Street Fighter X Tekken? How come you never do exclusive stuff with the Xbox 360? — Sei
Svensson: Guys, we've done lots of exclusive content on Xbox 360 platforms (DR1, DR2, Lost Planet, etc.). We spread the love around from time to time.
Nothing more I can say on the topic for the near term.
Hey, what about an Alpha 3 remaster for the Vita? Online Edition — TheAwesomeMan
Ono: Yeah, it's so good idea! ;D
Will there be a super street fighter 4 AE on PS Vita? That would make me sell my 3DS. — Brawlkarter
Ono: I don't have idea now.
My LOL is on that comment with UMvC3 disc with all DLC characters. They have no plans for DLC... not yet.
The funniest part about this news story was the fact that Third Strike and Success were used in the same sentence.
@10
compare sf3oe sales to hdr sales. that tells u the whole story.
3S is LEGEN... Wait for it, wait for it... DARY
The things that can be done it that game are the most technical masterful fighting in 2D period look at alot of the people who used to play 3S back in the day they pretty much ditched SSFAE and went straight to 3SO it's 10 years old and still is as an intense fight as you will find anywhere and the whole cast is good the assumption is that only 3 characters are worth a damn and that is serious scrub talk japan plays every character competitively the little details the time put into every frame is a masterpiece the learning curve is alot higher more strict inputs but the payoff for putting in the time is amazing it's a shame it hasn't got the love here as opposed to japan probably because people don't have all there regular characters from every game but this game will truly test your skill people alot of times complain about comeback mechanics because it takes away from the skill winning out well you will not beat a skilled player in this game if your not at there level scrubs do not win in this game because if old Joe scruffy try's to just hop into a game with a skilled fighter all he is doing is walking into the lions den like injured prey he stands no chance Ah... Dang I love this game
@chickenwings Why are you so hell bent against 3S? You need to learn to love some more :D.
I might just go office space on my 360 if all this cool extra stuff keeps coming out for PSN and PS3, but not Xbox live and the 360
@bullitt23- Well said. And thus, life moves on.
I personally enjoy both 3s and sf4. both games have their pros and cons in their own ways, but at the end of the day i'm enjoying both games like most like everyone else. For some it's just 3s, for others sf4...to each their own I suppose.
If people have actually seen or been able to do the things that were possible in this game it would be impossible to knock it
Sorry for the double post, wrote an extra "like" in post 16, >__>
"It's way too early to call SF3:OE a success just yet."
Translation: stop asking questions predicated on its status as a blockbuster success, because 1. it isn't one, and 2. it was never even expected to be a blockbuster success. SFIII never had those kinds of numbers, and certainly won't in rerelease. It's one reason the budget for Online Edition was cut early in the process, making it impossible to do a rebalancing (and hence sacrificing an admittedly small chance to pull in many new players).
Its fans are proud of its status as an "advanced" and therefore low-accessibility game, so few of them would argue or expect that it would somehow pull in huge numbers of players, let alone many years after its original release.
I guess it really depends on the play styles that you get into hm.. I just love capcom fighters regardless seriously though if we could get a darkstalkers remade and a SFA3 Remade CVS2 things could get super B.A.

Sean.
There goes your mountain of text.
No matter what, in any scenario, If I a Sean main win a match, it is all my opponents fault. Not a testament of my skill.
And a Sean player
Was cracking heads on cross counter point valid again
Regardless 3S has alot to do with reading your opponent and timing knowing how attacks hit and it's alot more aggressive I'm not a tier "wh*re" as they say not that people who only use high tiers bother me if that's where you get the most enjoyment from a fame then by all means I think I really just support capcom fighting games and the genre as a whole it's always nice to have variety in my eyes recently I have been frequently changing from SSF4 AE to 3SO just really depends how I'm feeling I just popped in SFA3 earlier what I will say I am is a DLC wh*re I admit I bye alot of it that's just me though alot of people don't like it
Oh and dude said there ain't no plans on DLC for UMVC3 well Jill and Shuma are DLC I think he is a bit aggravated just trying to get that question out the way
I don't know if it really makes a lot of sense comparing the sales for HD Remix to 3S:OE because when HD remix came out the scene was a bit starved, so people were very grateful for a rerelease (obviously the hardcore hate the game, yadda yadda) and now 3S:OE is released and people are already playing AE and MvC3 (maybe a little MK ;)) with SF x Tekken, KOF13, and many other games coming out so I think there are too many variables to consider in the "success" of sales.
What really matters is the magic number Capcom higher ups have in mind for sales. I'm guessing they want a lot on SF3:OE if they're going to do a remake of the Alpha games (sure a port would be easier but it's not going to make them a ton of money either. If they were going to release it on XBLA they'd want to milk it with more features added like 3s)
I really hope they make a CVS2 remake before alpha. Snk isn't exactly swimming in money from the sounds of things either so surely they'd be jumping at the chance to make another deal with Capcom?
@ Getdownbrown
One player does not make a garbage character viable.
One instance of Gootecks getting got by a few Sean surprises doesn't cut the mustard.
@31 Every character has a chance. Not as much as others of course... but with proper play you can still wreck people using "garbage characters" (Sean was top tier in 2nd Impact).
Does anybondy REALLY trust Capcom?
RE4HD was NOT given the same love as other makeovers.
SF4 and MvC3 have MANY revisions to get right and people STILL argue.
Capcom steals ideas from indy developers.
NO MegaMan in MvC3.
GET GILL OFF THE ONLINE SCENE!!
It's NOT impressive considering you can BUY him instead of using skill to beat it with all of the fighters and...
HE WAS BANNED IN EVERY MAJOR TOURNAMENT FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS!!
THIS IS ANOTHER REASON PEOPLE DONT RESPECT CAPCOM ANYMORE!
You give us SF3 and you allow one of the most Broken Brainlessly easy characters EVER in games to be used.
@1 Lets get a few things straight. First you don't know when the question was asked, it could have been asked week 1 which is way too early to call any game a success. Capcom is a corporation and wen you release things it's all about timing. The timing is probably not right for Alpha 3.
For those who have problems with Gill PLAY MATCHES WITH GILL BANNED! If you can't find matces with him banned then make a room yourself. If all else fails learn to play Gill and if the guy picks Gill, you pick Gill and beat him, you'd be suprise how quick they will Rage Quit. Most Gill playes don't really know how to play Gill.
Microsoft is very EVIL when it comes to exclusive content. Read this article.

LOL at the first question. Sf3 still doesnt do well in sales 10 years later, what a surprise.
