F*$K SBO...that was some sneaky and dirty shizzle! When there top players come here to fight, we don't treat them as if they shouldn't be at our tournaments. That just goes to show that Japan has no respect for the US. I use to be a fan of "not saying U S A" when we beat them but now I'm all for it! Like #2 said, they should not have been in that situation and if I was Banana Ken I would have made it known...they would have not been pleased with my comments! Karma is B*$!h SBO...Remember that!

Anyways, as some here have stated, he did not expect to win SBO, just "participate", so ultimately he shouldn't be pissed of to much about it.
What would pissed me off, however, is that they wouldn't have even been given a chance for a spot.

USA I dont think at least in SF4 ever made it past the first round, I know Banana Ken wouldnt really have regretted it going and losing the first round..IF..HE ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THE TOURNAMENT lol. So he could have given a 100% and done his best.
He went there, spend 1000 dollars, and didn't even get to be in SBO..He wasn't in the main tournament so we cant even say Banana Ken made it to SBO, he didn't. And thats just a terrible thought. Trained for nothing..spend 1k for nothing..being discouraged as hell..being embaressed as hell etc.
And yea he talks insanely slow it was kind of painful, but w/e. Good stuff

I would agree with you on that one, if their expenses were paid for by the organization including meal, rooms, etc. but these guys took their hard earn money to travel and have money to set aside and pushed plans aside to participate just for them to get there and say oh yea you will have to play for a spot. Its like saying oh you won a million dollars from a competition and have to come to their studio to collect it and then you get there and found out someone from the organization made a mistake and say you have to compete with another person for the cash that you were promised. That's messed up dude, everyone can easily say BananaKen shouldn't be pissed off because it wasn't them in that situation. If it was anyone here right now in his position would be more pissed than he is because I think he is handling it a lot better than I thought he would.

Honestly i really felt f**ked up how they did these 2 exellent players at sbo.especially "coming from such a well respectful and honest coulture" the japanese,oh yeah right.
we would never,never treat there players like sh*t or as if though they dont count when they participate in our venues.
just goes to show you that in there eyes we dont count. but its ok the world indeed is round!!!!
@V3N0MB1T3. They didn't make as much money as reported based on PPV. The 40,000 figure was not the number of live viewers. It was the total of how many people accessed the stream Just like sometimes, when you watch Spooky stream and it shows a view count as opposed to live viewers. ON eof the reason, their tourney is a single elimination is influenced by the fact taht they pay people hourly for production sicne it is not a volunteer-based service such as NSB and most US events.
I just wanted to clear the part about them making gazillion money. Still, it is a shame how things went down. (no excuses)

Firstly my heart goes to Banana Ken, what happened to you was not cool and damm right unfair.
He was really cool and I really respect him for watching this. However, the interview Zhi was really baiting and stirring in some of his questions.
SBO should compensate them and apologise alot better.
BKen went overseas with the mentality he wasn't going to get very far in the competition. So he screwed himself from the get go. Had they won the match against Kuwait's team, you wouldn't be seeing him whine like a little b*tch all over the internet. He's making excuses for his loss and now he's milking this incident to get more publicity. Hell, you don't see Hsien bitching all over the internet about this incident.
SBO is lame, and him continuously talking about it is giving them free publicity. In the entertainment industry bad publicity is better than no publicity. Its better to be heard of and hated, than not be heard of at all. So who every thinks SBO organizers are trying to save face, they don't really give a shyte. It'll be an infamous incident for sure, but I bet a lot more people know about the organization and event now.
Also, you cack riders need to stop sucking up. This could have happened to anyone else, but unfortunately it happened to him and Hsien. If this was some controversy against American players, then why didn't the organization pit his team against another American team. Also, please stop your fake sympathy for Kuwait getting shafted too, cuz we all know you don't care about them, you're just using them to justify HIS reasoning.
If you look at this way, at the end of the day, they beat Ken's team and moved on pretty far in the tournament. Instead of crying like little babies when all this crap was happening, they manned up and moved forward DURING the tournament.
All his honor talk about how he wouldn't want to get an auto spot if Kuwait was a no show is BS. I BET YOU in his mind he was hoping Kuwait wouldn't show up so he could get in the final spot. Stop idolizing this guy. Yeah, it sucks it happened to him, but shyte happens to all of us, but we all get up and move on.
BKen just needs to shut his trap, and get over it. He should finish school and stop making stupid financial choices like spending $2,000 on a tourney with f*cktarded rules. He knew he wasn't going to win in the first place, so he was never in it in the first place.

I can understand that BK was upset he wasnt officially in the tournament if I would have had to fight to get a spot in evo I would have been a little upset.....BUT to say the whole trip was ruined because of the situation is a stretch IMO. I dont think they would have placed higher (and I was rooting for them more than any group) just because of the attitude that he seems to imply to a certain degree that they could of done better if it wasnt for that situation.
BK youre a great player but until you increase your self confidence youre not going to reach your full potential.

The guy has a right to be pissed off, and none of you commenting "oh big whoop he didn't even expect to win the tourney, suck it up" have never been to a big tournament so you wouldn't know the difference between a good tournament experience and a bad one. If you can only have a good tourney experience by winning the entire tournament hands down then you wouldn't travel around like these guys do, out of pocket.
And as mentioned before, who gives a crap whether the interview was boring, you were just too lazy to read Jose's (Banana Ken) write up.
