Major League Gaming's Slasher attended Capcom's recent New York Fight Club and got the chance to talk with Capcom's Ryan McDougall about how Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is shaping up.Why only now does MLG want a piece of that fighting game pie?
I like how Wolvie is getting his butt wooped while Ryan is explaining the new changes about him.. At least give us a vid where he's the one doing the butt wooping with the new move or even just him butt wooping
xD

Who is Mega Man? Didn't he used to be in those old jumping video games?
Curious how they intend to make the game less about 30 second combos and more about tactics. Right now its all about fishing for the first hit with an assist mixup and trying not to drop the character killing combo.
Even if they did change that a lot of people already love the game in its current form.
"In the first video, Ryan mentions they're trying to make the game more tactical and get the focus off of 30-second long combos and more about the spacing on screen."
Can you carry that idea over to the SFxT team also? Regular, non-autistic gamers aren't really interested in super-long juggle combos that bear no resemblance to the give-and-take of a real fight and don't allow any interaction from one of the players.

I would

Zero is NOT MegaMan, and you obviously don't play either to know the difference for yourself and you look at them like "Derp, they both have a Buster, they're the same character lol."
As much as I would like him in, Rock isn't in, that's just it. Of course, leave it up to this website to constantly bring the issue back up.
MegaMan fans (including myself) = Let it go, it's not happening.
Non-MegaMan fans = Don't sh!t on someone else's favorite franchise just because it's not Street Fighter/Resident Evil.
What if they brought Mega Man into UMVC but he turned out to be the worst character in the game. Would you still play him? Would all the fan boys stop crying about him or would they just start crying about something new. I wanted Carnage or Venom in this game SOOOO bad but I didn't get either. You don't hear me going, "Oh wtf Capcom! You put in Rocket Raccoon but couldn't put Carnage or Venom?" You just gotta take what they give you. I wasn't thrilled with their choices at first but after seeing how Vergil and Iron Fist play, I can truly say I'm excited to play them. Same thing with Nova. All I'm saying is, Ya we didn't get who we wanted but just suck it up and stop whining!

Considering that there is no real "worst" character in the game, I find your situation very unlikely.
The MvC3 system, in itself, makes any character viable in a real match. The only reason why a select few are played in tournaments are because the top-tier characters right now can OTG, wall/ground bounce, and DHC Glitch easily, and by themselves.
Would Viewtiful Joe be used more in tournaments if he had a ground/wall bounce, OTG normal and Hyper? You bet your a$$ he would. He's a small character, and his utilities would make him scary, much like Ammy right now.
IF they were to add Venom, MegaMan, Gambit, WHOEVER, they would be a good character, that's just HOW this game was made. They had a bad moveset in Marvel 2? How cares, look at Ryu and Tron, they were BAD in Marvel 2, but with the MvC3 makeover, they got combos and their normal moves flow into eachother.
Venom, Gambit, etc can keep their SAME moveset (much like how Tron did) from Marvel 2 and be viable in Marvel 3, it just boils down to who has more tools to be used competitively.
Phoenix Wright and Rocket Raccoon are awkward picks, but who cares, it's a video game, deal with it. I would like MegaMan, but I learned to deal with it. You can bet everything you got that if RR got a self OTG and a a kickass assist, he WILL be used in tournaments. Just watch.
