If you'd like to hear a sample of the character themes for the new fighters that have been officially announced in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, you can either navigate over to the official site and click the BGM option, or you can grab the .mp3 files below.

Each file is a little under 3 megabytes in size, and contains about 1 minute and 40 seconds worth of the character's song. Here are the links.

All around good stuff, though the Marvel side stands heads and shoudlers above the Capcom ones so far, IMO.

But that's alright cause they're all good.

MvC3 has underrated music, I think. Only ones I really can't stand are Ryu's and Iron Man's themes.

#1 Theme song in UMVC3 Award!: Firebrand, even though it uses guitar, gets a free pass because he's awesome, making it a tie between Firebrand and Dr. Strange!

Awesome I-will-play-this-often-in-my-music-collection Award: Ghost Rider gives you some nice flavor without too much screamo in it, Hawkeye tells UMVC3 to BRING IT BACK to MVC2, Nemesis GOES HARD IN THE MUTHA F-CKIN PAINT/LEAVE YOU STANKIN...jk

Ok Award: Iron Fist, Vergil. Maybe I need more listens, but he's not really 'competing' with Dante right now. Pretty epic intro, tho.

Eh..? Award: Maybe I need to relisten to Strider's, but he's supposed to be this awesome guy and we got...that? I'll give it time.)

Whoa...I nearly destroyed my computer.

First thing I tried to do was modify remixes of and combine the music of characters in order of their reveal...so being that the first two was Strider and Ghost Rider's themes, I went ahead and glitched the crap of of my drives.

Irony: my problems with UMvC3 are numerous (and well-documented), yet Firebrand - the character nobody wanted that I was totally cool with - has the most awesome theme. You may get a sale out of me yet, Capcom.

I think all these themes are very fitting and well done. A shame some of the Capcom themes aren't as good as their source material (Vergil and Strider in particular) but they're decent at the least. The Marvel side, though, is all around amazing, especially considering they're all original.

'll admit I haven't heard all of the old themes, but Shuma's translated very well as did Doom's, and again, maybe I just need to listen to it more. Then again, there's also the fact that these are supposed to sound "classic"/old school versus the "dynamic" stage themes...)

#60: Wow, all old songs are lame, right? Some of the best themes in MvC3 are versions of MvC1 songs...

Dr. Strange: I like it more than I expected to, cool to see a superhero getting a somewhat dark theme.
Firebrand: Pretty straightforward port of the GNG tune it's based on... not a lot to say. The rhythms about 1:00 in are cool though.
Ghost Rider: I dig it except for the random death growls. Otherwise my 3rd favorite of the new songs.
Hawkeye: Incredible. Best song to debut in MvC3, not just Ultimate. I've been waiting to hear the whole thing since the trailer came out and I am not disappointed. Sounds about as cocky as Hawkeye is, it's great.
Iron Fist: Exactly what I expected, fits the character perfectly. Sounds pretty dialed in until about 0:35 when it gets awesome.
Nemesis: I like how the approach here was to just take an RE3 song and make it dubstep (sort of) halfway through, and it still came out better than Chris' theme. Still not great, but Fukasawa didn't have a lot to work with.
Strider: Not bad (and definitely not lame cause it's old), just not that interesting. Just kinda average like Firebrand's.
Vergil: Like the other DMC songs, I think it's okay but I realize I would probably like it more if I had played DMC and knew the songs better. Sounds kinda cool I guess.

Ghost Rider: Pretty damn cool and rockin' and I very much like the guitar, although I'm kinda not a fan of the growls in it.
Strider: Pretty meh overall, but there isn't really much you can do with a theme as old as Striders, no matter what you do, the original will always be better. Probably the worst of the lot imo.
Hawkeye: REALLY don't see the big deal in this, it's catchy and sounds fairly arrogant, but has nothing else to it imo.
Firebrand: Now THIS is what I'm talking about, awesome remix of Gargoyles Quest Title Screen, the guitar goes VERY VERY well with this song and it generally sounds very cool, even cooler than the character it's used for.
Dr. Strange: Hands down best track of the lot. This is... just incredible, so cinematic, edgy, spacey and fitting for the Good Doc and does so many things right, this is one of the best tracks in the game without a doubt.
Nemesis: I like this a lot more than I really should, it's a fairly simple remix of the Nemesis battle theme, but I really dig the groaning noise at the beginning and the whole song in general inspires fear, just like Nemesis. The dubstep is also done WELL, contrary to most of 3rd Strike Onlines efforts.
Iron Fist: MEH, it sounds very cheesy and fits well for the martial artist motif, but Iron Fist is MUCH MUCH more than just that and deserves a more edgy sort of theme like Dr.Strange got, somewhat like this for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyx-t5...
Vergil: Inferior to its source material sure, but this is still one hell of an effort to replicating Vergils theme, and like Strider, nothing you do will make it better than it already is. Unlike Striders however, this is actually really good.
