Also, after the jump you can see a mostly unexciting screen of SFxT's gem system which was shown on the projector.

4 players or 4 fighters? I was under the impression that 2 fighters can be controlled by 1 player?
@2
This is a specific mode for 4 players. Cross Assault is when 1 player controls 2 characters by letting the joystick hit a neutral position after they finish 1 characters moves.
i cant get enough of that girl's legs. and... the rest of her.
scramble mode looks hilarious. if you could time fireballs correctly with your partner couldnt you shut down the other players that easily? or have one guy in the back rolling out fireballs while the other rushes in completely impervious to full combos? lol
Scrambles is Smash like fun with friends. As much as we love fighting games, it sucks when you have to wait your turn.
We will play 2V2 more than scrambles, but I know Scrambles will be a blast when hammered.
@13
Honestly, who would have thought they would put something like that in? It's not that people didn't know it was possible or anything, it's that people just didn't think they'd DO it.
Capcom has been a bit more tournament focused lately, and let's be honest, they've been skimping on the modes. There weren't in SF4 or MVC3. So seeing SFXT that has what... like SEVEN modes?? It's a bit of a shock.
I see many, many rapes in the future with this system! I wonder if your friend could cross-assault and "pop" a fool airborne....then WHOEVER has a anti air catch like move can maybegrab em on the way down......
This IS a party game now! One that'll go on for hours.

So far only about 5/6 modes have been annouced:
Arcade
Scramble
normal VS
Briefing/Training(they're basically the same thing but you can do it online)
Online vs
Compared to vanilla MVC3
Arcade
VS
Online vs
Training
Mission
Player matches
Lobby/Endless matches
Shadow battle
Event(which dose give a brand new twist with a few things and offers it's own challenge)
and SSF4
Arcade
VS
Training
Trail mode
Online vs
Player matches
Endless mode
Team Battle
Tournament
Hell even Vanilla SF4:
Arcade
VS
Training
Trial mode
Mission stages(kinda miss those)
Online VS
Player matches
Online "Tournament" mode
So yeah at this moment it has LESS
@21
Wait wait wait... I get your point but hold on...
You're counting Online Vs. and Player Matches AND Endless Lobbies as different modes??
That all falls under Online Vs. At least in my book. Tournaments are different because they're a much bigger departure from the other two which are very similar.
I'll admit when I'm wrong, and I am, but still. I call BS. That's like me counting Briefing as separate from Training.
But I suppose I should have said that these new modes and systems are just much different from what we've (mostly) come to expect.
4P Tag, Scramble, and Gem all seem very different and pretty fresh, as opposed to the small differences between online and offline vs. for example.
@#21
it's more like:
arcade [1p / 2p?]
1v1 versus [offline / online]
2v2 versus [offline / online]
scramble [offline / online]
training [1p / 2p] / [offline / online]
depending on how you want to count it, that's something like ten features not even considering potential ranking/endless/tournament variations and whatever it ends up being that facilitates the gem system. not to mention the fact that basically every fighting game this generation has had some sort of challenge mode, so we can almost definitely expect one here.
Inb4 Ryu and Ken teams spread like a virus online!
*Ono shows the MCZ stick*
Girl: I want one!
Ono: Then show us more of your titties.
Girl: Nooo!
o_O
@26
Indeed, it's downright titillating that we're being kept abreast of all this news. Ono is racking up the points in my boob...I mean book.
Wow, gem customisation actually looks pretty cool (cosmetically). You can change the pants, shirt and hair for Ryu it seems, kind of like how customisation works in Tekken. The 'colorful' Ryu's hadouken also seems smaller? I hope you can use cosmetic changes in every mode, and gameplay changes only in specific, seperate modes.
#22 Its not necissarily stupid mindless fun. One Character could be the assist like character while the other, with great priority on his moves is up front poking and playing footsies.
Or a Tank character together with a rushdown character, the tank in front blocking the hits while the other waits behind the tank for an opening to apply pressure. Or an allround character like Ryu or ken keeping the opponents busy while a teleport character sneakes up from behind.
It again opens up tactical possibilitys. IT just needs to be played right.
But theres no denying that the game overall looks a little less tactical, but that could just be the presentation that leaves the exploration to the players. I certainly hope so. A fun game is fun, but a deep game is addicting. I want to be addicted.
that cooooooooooooooool but... remind me its mugen ? SfxTken MUGEN EDITION
Scramble is a pointless throw in that has no real value at all.
It's only reason for existing is a bullet point on the back of the box.
Filler content that reviewers can point to and hopefully give a better score.
It's terrible but I understand Capcoms reasoning for it.
Otherwise I'm very happy with how this game is coming along and I'm curious to see how the gem system works.
@Catalyst
You misspelled scramble on the title.
@41
How is the mode pointless?
Maybe to elite snobs who scoff at anything that isn't tourney-worthy, but to those who like to have casual FUN with friends or online, it is not worthless. Capcom's games need more modes that are appealing to those who aren't part of the inner-circle of niche gamers and have no desire to be.
That being said, I wish they would have made some special stages for this mode that are bigger, with some platforms,like SSB, so things aren't so crowded in the fighting area. Nothing wrong with borrowing from an uber popular game.
Wow.......This game is so hyped! I just hope that all these extra-ness of the game doesn't spoil it.
It was sickk with the whole switching out aka the cross rush and the combining of the super arts, and then they added the cross over controlling for both characters to come out.....which is pretty exciting!
and then the pandora mode, which is pretty unknown to see how players can work with that! Then they introduced the different modes:
-4 player scramble mode
-Online brifing mode; where u can practice online with friends or other players
And now they added this gem mode????
Danggg Capcom, thanks for going all the way for your fans!
:D
Hope this doesn't like overwhelm the game!
but this is just how i feel and IMO!
WTF@ 37 and 41 how is this pointless and valueless? Do you not have friends? Do you not play games for casual fun from time to time? Because thats what games were made for back in the day and hopefully thats what they are being made for today....Even the pros should be able to get a kick out of this...It's not meant to be taken seriously you idiots, its meant to for fun...sorry for calling you idiots but thats exactly what you sound like....
@DarkPhoenixRises How do you know that its not meant to be taken seriously? U are just as wrong as the people you are trying to correct. Weve sreen a minute of footage from that mode. How can anybody be so pretentious to say that they know what its about. Street Fighter 4 can be played just as mindless as what we've seen in the presentation. People always have to know everythin, and even if they dont, they still make it sound like they do. That is so annoying.
@46
Agreed. Some people take their GAMES way too seriously.
ZOMG!!!!!!!! Dat...
Video?!
...
Its a bit early but I guess Imma have to make a premature visit to some of my other favourite specialist websites...
back in 30 seconds ;)
@51 You say it like it's a bad thing? SSB is a great game. Why does every fighter have to be competitive, what ever happen to fun? Are people so snobby they can't let their hair down, kick their shoes off and just have fun? why can't people just loosen up and have fun for once?
1. If you dont like the 4 player mode dont play it, it looks really fun to me. My little cousins will be going crazy playing this with me, of course i go easy on them.
2. I dont think im going to buy this game unless I know it has a good online room. A room where I can watch and there are more than just me and one oppenent. SF4 it was only me and one oppent- then ssf2 fixed all of that by adding more people in the room. MVC3 has multiple people in the room but you can't view the matches when your waiting, UMVC3 fixes that.
So Im going to wait a while, FUK that first day buy ish im going to wait and really know what is in the game. I know this joke is old but after buy sf4 just to wait for ssf4 and then buy mvc3 and should have waited on umvc3, Capcom ya not tricking me again
3. I hope there will be an option that when you knock out one oppent you still have the next person to fight instead of just winning the round. Also in the 4 player all out fight it should be just like smash bros or wwe where each person is eliminated one by one.
I like the game but im not rushing, Capcom ya not getting me again. I may wait until the price drops.
What's with people writing that this mode sucks? It looks like a lot of FUN! That's what a video game is for right? FUN?! Jeez, you guys need to get out more. *cough*#37&41*cough*
Oh, yeah, definitely busting this mode out at parties.
Even alot of my non-fighting game friends would want to do this just to mess around, sounds good.
As for the Gem System....is it me, or does one Hadouken look different from the other? Or is it because the left one is already on screen and the other one is starting up?
#56 : Yea thats why im glad Capcom doesn't listen to some of these people ''Oh oh..How is scramble mode useful in tournamemnts!!! oh Tournaments they arnt used fufl'' I can match tourny players but this looks like a ton of pure fun.
SF4 missed anything decent from Endless mode, and MVC3 misses..everything so to see some cool modes is refreshing.
@57 yea the first hadouken is bigger. Im guessing you can increase DMG or size
@#37
" Its just a shallow button mashing mode for the smash bros scrubs, capcom cattering to the casual/party game player. A disappointing but predictable move in the days of casual motion control gamming gimmicks. Serious/hardcore players will get bored of this mode real quick. "
Street Fighter EX3 says hi, It had 4 player battles before the casual fighting game scene hit via multi-tap dramatic battles.

Learn to have fun while playing video games, that's what they're for.
those guys will keep talking trash until daigo and mago start teaming up in this mode at evo or something then they will say "THIS MODE IS SOOO COOL"
...i just wish this game more offline modes...like survival or team battle, mostly interested in first...i just want them to implement endless battle mode like they did in Tekken, i mean fighting opponents and gaining 1st dan, 2nd dan, 3rd dan etc as you win more matches to increase replayability...
(LOL #65 is SOOO right!
fanbois: 2v2 is for scrubby suck bros players lawllll
*Mike Ross and Gootecks do 2v2 on a stream*
fanbois: 1v1 is for scrubby suckblue players, 2v2 for life!!!!one
[or EVEN fanbois: omg....I can't wait for the new smash...ross the boss!])
man i totally forgot that the video was about SFxT... I was just staring at the girl's legs and vaginal parts
^^^
Right there with you PoPPin. What were they talking about? Was SF X Tekken even in this vid? LOL
That girl has a bangin' body! 4 way player mode all day on that!
Who is the crazy Japanese man who yells Hadouken and Shoryuken during the fight? That has me cracking up every time I hear it.
lol at Japanese screaming on every comment they make.
I even if I understood japanese I was more interested on checking out those chicks. Yup and the girl next to harada is hot. He was hovering his palm when he was hugging here though.
I think you imbeciles are confusing 2 vs 2 mode for 4 players at once Scramble mode.
2 vs 2 is fine. Although I'm sure it'll be about as popular as MKs 2 player mode is.(Not popular at all)
Scramble mode will be fun for exactly two minutes. Then it's over.
The only time you will ever see people play it is for the novelty of how awful it is.
holy syet this added mode is so fun! bring back the SF EX3 days... 4 player multi-tap back in ps2!
just to let everyone know not to get confused with 2p vs 2p mode from 4p scramble mode!
anyways... this game gonna be a hell lot of fun for parties and even tourny's for serious 1p vs 1p matches!
HYPE!
@Shareware
The difference is
In Endless mode it's a king of the mountain mode also unlike player matches and normal online VS you have people spectating.
Player matches you're playing for any reason
while normal online VS you're playing for ranking(even if you don't care for it). but if you want to count it as one yeah sure
briefing and training are literally the same thing just online.however i still said 5/6 modes
and even if you cut out the endless/player matches there's still more in other games
analogos
you're speculating I'm commenting on the fact of WHAT IS THERE and ANNOUNCED. 2p arcade isn't, annouced 2v2 isn't really anything different from VS 1vs1 except now there's more players.
Also having 2 players isn't really an extra player isn't feature especially when you consider if EITHER one of you loses the rounds OVER
SfXT parties, I see it happening :)
