The MCZ|Daigo Kumite and exhibition match stream are starting now on Taito's channel. For those of you who forgot the details, Daigo is facing off against 50 players in a row who signed up to challenge him. Afterwards, there will be exhibition matches between him and top players, including Hsien Chang, TFA|Banana Ken and iPeru.
Either it's really laggy, or I need to reload the stream.
USTREAM is really one of the worst in the business...
jesus christ, they're streaming it through a cellphone.
I didn't know there was a version of Street Fighter 4 that played at 10 frames per second.
Someone went over their bandwidth limit on their welfare internet.
there are couple players with high BP and were on godsgraden tournament before.
i do remember someone saying here that Japanese streams are better...
#23 How can you tell? I can barely make out what's happening.
i remember the names. that viper got 3 place in godsgraden 2.5 and was on godsgraden online 2.
That VIPER with 90K BP was the one that aleminated M. ROss in SBO
The stream is like watching a giant turd thrown into a paper shredder, but all the bits of corn in the turd keep clogging the paper shredded
Super Stret Fighter 4 Arcade Edition OPS!!! i mean gameboy edition XD
banana ken looks like a scrub ken. keep jumping at daigo.
some dumb American sign up and don't want to play.
Just tell me the results. I can't watch this because my eyesight is really bad.
@54
Daigo only lost to iPeru.
daigo vs foreigners in about 30mins
@58
Okay. I just started to watch the stream again and I think iPeru just lost to Daigo in their second fight.
Hsien Chang lost to Daigo 3 games in a row. I don't believed Chang took any rounds off of Daigo :( .
I hate this crap. this is not fighting this is who can get the moves out faster than the other person and just keep at them till you get a hit. boring boring this will make street fight go to the way side again. four mains and if you don't play them you lose. how many players are there to chose from close to FORTY? Oh never mind them just get rid of everyone else.... you can play just them or lose. Think I will just go back you not play this again..not buying dlc's... not paying for updates.. sell my stick.... If all I get all the time from CRAPCOM!!!is four to play if I want to have a chance of winning at this game...
Damn. I thought Kazunoko was gonna make a comeback after taking two sets in a row and he's also more familiar with the Yun mirror match than Daigo. Hands down to Daigo for finally defeating Kazunoko on screen?(can't recall if he ever did)
I can't decide who's the best Yun player between these two because they're that good.
Daigo beats Kazunoko all the time. lol they have some long matches. Daigo beat Kazunoko by few games most of the time.
@63
Goukin
every game has tiers, and only at high level do they matter...
you think all because daigo is winning with yun in japan it means yun is unbeatable? in USA how many tournaments has a Yun player won? how about fei ? how about yang? its the player not the character... i watched justin play a very close match vs air ryu and he was using dan, does that mean dan is at ryu's level?
@67
According to Kazunoko, Daigo wins more games than him, but what I'm trying to say that I never seen Daigo beating Kazunoko on screen.
No it means Air isn't on Justins level and isn't used to Dan.
Air also went on to destroy Justin after he downloaded him.
Tiers matter at the top and the bottom. Tier lists show which characters have advantages over others.
Even if you aren't a top contender those advantages still exist. They don't suddenly disappear when you are on Xbox Live or playing with your pals.
whats going on now? just some random replays?
Next event Nagoya Street Battle 3rd anniversary(NSB30) on Sep 23rd. http://nsb.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/315/ Team madcatz is confirmed (Daigo, Mago,TOkido). There is also Team MDR dream team:Sako, MDR and Haitani. I'm sure more top teams will be announced.
Dear lord, those are two godly teams. I'm particularly pumped for Team MDR's dream team. Haven't seen much of MDR's vids but he's definitely one of the very best, and Sako and Haitani are so flippin' fun to watch because YJDK what in the world will happen.
@71
That's true, but you have to keep in mind the tier list isn't necessarily correct at lower levels of skill.
Those lists are made with the assumption that the player can use all of a character's tools and combos. Give me Fuerte and I'll do crap with him considering I can't do a decent RSF. Give me Yun and I'll probably suck because I'd drop every other genei jin combo, and I have trouble doing his cr.mp links.
Some characters are high tier and easy to use, i.e. Vanilla Sagat, or Super Chun. Some characters are high tier, but require a high level of skill to play. i.e Yun, Poongko's Seth. Also helps that the twins, Akuma and Seth are essentially glass cannons and any mistake can easily lead to a lost round. Now compare that to Vanilla Sagat, or Super Honda. Those guys had the tools to deal their damage, and have the HP to cover for any mistakes.
Not everyone can just pick up AE's sort of top tiers and instantly do well, because not everyone has the necessary skill set to maximize the characters. In that regard, I actually rather like AE's top tiers, more so than vanilla or super.
japan sucks at streaming... seriously .. they are way behind
^ Really? I can't even tell who's top tier in Super, while it's obvious in AE (Team Hong Kong minus Dan) and Vanilla (Sagat).
Super had a bunch of top characters, they all were strong and had a shot at winning, but Capcom had to nerf (almost, for some reasons they had to buff Fei) everyone to damnation in AE.
Fei Long, Rufus, Chun, Guile, Dictator, Boxer, Akuma, Ryu, Honda, Abel, Dhalsim, they were all great. But no, let's keep castrating characters.
"The stream
The stream is in iPhone quality, but since camera usually isn't allowed in game centers, you can't really complain about that. (We didn't have a stream from Umehara's event at Super Wave Yoshiwara.)"
So all your guys who complain about the stream quality, be quiet.
@faQU: Agreed, I rather face a top tier rush down who at least have creative way of playing than sit back and Sonic boom
@81
I can't believe I actually agree with one of your comments! Guile could play lame all day!
And it's not that I care personally... But be real on this Gtfopanda. At least Yun has to go in.
And why Ryu fell in with that list of Monsters I'm not sure? He was really solid in Super, but the Nerf Bat he took from Vanilla took away his "Top Tier" status for sure.
Abel and Rufus (by comparison) could almost fall off of your list too. But they both received excellent new Ultras. So I won't disagree with them.
I hope it's just a friendly debate. Because I even thought I can tell you which characters I think are the strongest, I personally don't mind Top Tier characters.
Someone is always going to be considered the "Best". AE2012 won't be any different.
My guess would be that people are going to start complaining about Turtling again.
My stance on AE: The Top Tiers are the easiest to handle of the three SF4 games. The Low tiers recieved great buffs, and while not every match up is great for them... They've also never been stronger. Example: Hakan, Makoto, Guy, Seth, Gouken, etc. etc.
While people will say I'm crazy... Based on my listed criteria... AE is the MOST balanced of the SF4 series!
Just my opinion.
@Allupoj
Personally I found Chun a lot easier to use than Yun. Maybe I'm just more comfortable with the pace she plays the game at, whereas I have a hard time keeping up with the manic pace of a good Yun rush. (I know Daigo's Yun moves more slowly than Kazunoko, but even trying to play at that pace is a bit too quick for me)
anyone who thinks tiers matter at low level is a scrub who cant accept they suck and blame their losses on the tier list. infact some low tier characters with abusable moves probably seem top tier at low level. and at low level i mean players below or at average level
@83 there is nothing creative about the way Yun is played..... Nothing. They all play the same way. Braindead. Guile may be a turtle char. but I've seen plenty of Guiles go in. He has way more diversity than rush sh*t down Yun, thus making him mote creative of the two.
I don't want to hate on A.E. but since it dropped, char variety has gone down considerably.
Personally I feel charge characters are really at a disadvantage in SF against shotos, the best way for charged characters to get in is fadc dash in or jump or their special move that dodge fireballs, jump in is dangerous against good shotos due to dp, fadc dash in is bad because the character will lose all charge time and will eat a jump in block string and mixups from there.fireball dodge moves like rog's turn around punch and bison's head stomp is very dangerous as well which can be countered by neutral jump, so I find the best strategy is to slowly closing in and block at the sametime, find oportunity and punish big, but with AE2012 ryu gets his escape tetsu back, even ken can escape so its really frustrating to deal with. Guile is one of the few that can close in with s.lk while still charging so I believe he is pretty solid char. Other than that the amount of pro charged players are really small and rarely wins anything.
@90
Yun needs to be played creatively to open up oportunities for massive damage, he cannot dive kick all day against good players and he's dive kick hight restriction prevent it anyway, so good Yun will always utilise neutral jump to fake dive kick and command grab to fake block strings to open up oportunities, he has very low health and bad wake up so he cant make too many mistakes.
@#94 Apathetik:
http://beastnote.blogspot.com/2011/09...
According to this, camera is not allowed in Game center, so they use iPhone to record. Not like they try to be cheap and use crappy webcam. They can use HD Cam if possible, but meh..
@#89 foolly: Agreed, at low level, the easiest character with easiest move to abuse is top tier. That is why you dont see much Viper although she is hella strong
@#90 Unknown: Yun has all the tools and need to be aggressive and creative. S.MP frame trap, command grab to beat turtle and throw, palm to beat wake up move, dive kick to beat tech throw. So many tools and way to be around.
Guile? Boom Booom booom. Flash kick, S.HP F.HP. Cr.HK. Thats all.
AE is balance to me. Yun and yang are not easy to just pick up play and win. if you don't believe me, I ask you to try to win a US tournament with Yun.
@bmomosaik 69 having players that are better is fine. I wouldnt say anything when daigo was using Ryu. even fei long is cool with me he cant stay on you like the twins or even seth damn! all the pros are really good dont get me wrong but when you can take a character and stay on them all the way across the stage attacking with out no way to punish them except if they whiff something is not fun to play against...remember 90 percent of us are not pros and we like to play other characters and when you cant apply the same pressure heck you cant even across them up with eating the look at my balls kick lol. i was glad to see fuudo? something like at ... won evo he just out played them with his mind not his two hands just doing movers over and over and over thats my point
@#99
VS 50 players, i believe it was 49-1 (one loss to Iperu)
VS Iperu 3-1,VS Bananaken 3-1,VS Hsien Chang 3-0
VS Nemo 3-1 (he bodied him the first two games...makes the SBO format even more meh)
VS Kazunoko 3-2 (really close match,kazunoko failed to confirm into geneijin and it cost him. Could have gone either way)
Yea it's called nemo is a straight beast I believe at gods garden he knocked out uryo's Sakura and his Sakura was smearing opponents but nemo Has got some serios yang skills
#96
You shouldn't use US tournaments as a benchmark for character balance because American players aren't up to par with the rest of the world. That's why Mike Ross gets so far with a mid tier character (Honda) in American tournaments and gets knocked out of SBO first round.
@Goukin 100
your missing the point... what i said is to play the twins ect you have to be good to start with you have to be able to hit links hit confirm everything so on you can just pick them up and mash like sf4 sagat and win, playing a character that you have to rush down with equals a high risk character, you get hit and there goes 1/4 of your health your not going to be playing many people who can play yun like daigo... playing top tier right now in ssf4 ae is still beatable, unlike sagat who had damage, health and high stun. even guile and honda were stronger in super then the twins are in ae.
@Poe22222 Actually, Daigo fares well against Nemo in general when he uses Yun. Even with Akuma he is competitive against Nemo unlike TOkido. http://oro777.free.fr/wordpress/.You can browse through some of their documented matches in the past few months.
But top players in Japan consider Yang to have the slight advantage against Yun (according to Kazunoko) while Daigo think it is sort of even for now. Daigo and other top players recognize that Yang has more potential. WHile YUn has been discovered at 100%; there is still some room for Yang innovation hence Daigo's curiosity to see how Sako would play Yang(they are not in the same region).
The matchup that Daigo feels is random at the very top is the Yun mirror.
@104 iirc Nemo didn't knock Uryo out, he sent him to losers. Then Uryo proceeded to go batsh*t on everyone else. I could be wrong though.
@98
The game is only defensive when players tend to play that way, AE favours a more rush down game play thats why you see a lot of top tier characters are rush down types, all characters have normals to deal with all situations, some are just harder to time (bad frame) thats all.
@107
I did mention guile as an exception which he can charge while closing in which makes him a solid character not to mention his good normals, however against sagat, he cannot win the fireball game which he will need to get in eventually, against ryu or ken you can keep the fireball going but gota watch out tetsu that pass fireballs.
All you twin lovers out there need to lay off what ever you have been smoking they are not hard to use. They have very ways to punish there moves come out faster then most fast players very small window to punish when most pros switch to then it's not that they didn't like who they were using. They just didn't stand a chance unless they used them they have stuck with there mains for three years no it twin or lose. I use a low tier most of the time and when I pick someone that is tier I hardly never lose with them why is that? I have like 356bp with Ken but I play endless with him mostly but I don't lose that often my main I Lose more why is that?
@111
You sound exactly like the scrub ken players who mash dps online, even the pros lose sometime but you 'never' loses? you are so full of yourself, get over it 356bp ken.
@113 I said.... if you read it... I don't lose that often with ken... yes I lose. If he is not my main then I don't play him often do I. but when I do.... winning the match comes easier if that were not true why are there alot of ken players online You sound like all the tier whores that play online and play only them and think you are good at the game because you have mastered a top ranked character. when I play them online and they mirror match my low tier they lose and i reverse the table i may lose but I held my own while you got your butt handed to you now who is the scrub
@Goukin
What you are sayong dont make the slightest sense, I dont understand anything you just wrote, you dont main ken or do you? Winning the match is easier with Ken? why there are a lot of Ken players? seriously what the hell are you trying to say here? Im scrub because I master a top ranker character? Are you telling me that all the japanese pros whos master that specific character are scrubs? You seriously need to get off of your drugs scrub.
@Goukin
By the way you are the one who is crying about Yun, I didnt say anything about Ken until you brought up how you never lost a match with him, read your own post before comment you retard.
@superstraightfighter I dont lose that OFTEN and seems how i dont play ken much that would mean I don't lose much with him ether ...........you need to learn how to read... read everything before you start shooting your mouth with your fingers. Pros are pros because they can use everyone well and the reason they switched mains is because the one they were playing don't have a chance.you just keep thinking you are good at the game because you can do some combos with the easiest characters in the game
@Goukin
God you are so retarded, you dont lose often because you dont use the character often, seriously what kind of logic is that? My original topic is about your opinion on Yun that he is easy to use character yet you use a brain dead Ken and claim never 'lost' a match? Who is the one that needs to read properly? A lot of pros never switched like Wildcat still using Hakan? A lot of pros dont use the twins or fei either, Itabashi does pretty good with zangief in godsgarden as well, your comment is completely retarded and you need to get your facts straight before you start typing idiot, I really had enough with your stupidity, case closed.
@Goukin
According to your logic, If I never played the game then I would be the best player because I never used any character thus will never lose? Seriously are you like 3 year old mental retarded idiot?
Anyone have a full list of the participants Daigo will face?
