Anyway, Vergil looks alright but not my type of character. Iron Fist looks badass (one inch punch lvl 3 anyone?) chi storing looks like an interesting mechanic, not so sure about his mix-up potential though, we shall see.

God, Virgil is like one of my least favorite characters ever in this game. Just like Dante just less projectile based, and more into extremely long combos. He does that 'bored voice' and does that crap with his sword. He's like a freakin Inuyasha character or something.

Vergil, finally. And I have no idea where this Vergil is a clone of Dante talk is coming from. Vergil had the thing where Dante punches the floor and kicks originally in DMC3 anyway. They don't even fight the same in that game.
Vergil is Dante's Ken, subtle differences I in game play but basically same concept....not exciting...Iron fist I like him a little....

Vergil looks interesting his combos are prety good. Iron Fist looks awesome, he looks just as i pictured him from the comics and that level 3 of his looks sick it must really hurt. The only downfall to Iron Fist that i see is that hes goona have a hard time getting in on certain characters. Looks like he is gonna need some good assists to help him get in.

My original team was Hsien-Ko, Spencer and Dr. Doom. Maybe i'll change my second team from X-23, Deadpool and Ryu to X-23, Deadpool and Iron Fist and my third team i'll leave it as it is Dante, Wesker and Chris.
@88 it runs at 60fps it's not going to look ps3 perfect put it still looks amazing for being portable.
Anyway, I think iron fist plays like fei long with powers he even looks to have a reka like special move. Can't wait to play as him. Same goes for Virgil I actually like him over Dante seems like he's less crazy when it comes to special moves.

As for Vergil, I expected more differentiation between him and Dante. They both have that (high priority, but supposedly changed now) stinger, their Air S animation is the same, Vergil's warp w/slashed trailing is like Dante's burning slash ground move, Vergil's helicopter spin is like Dante's icy helicopter spin.
I dunno, he looks fun, just wanted a bit more different. BUT, he has Rugal upkicks, and that's awesome.

IF this is true then I'll at least be happy somewhat.
to me dante and strider look at different as night and day, so i suppose it's all in how you look at it. anyone who played dmc3:se knows just how different they are, dante having what six styles? and vergil having one style based around teleporting, and summoned swords instead of any guns. i'm happy with his look.
getting pretty hyped for these stages, which surprised even me. that night time asgard is sexy.

Virgil isn't a Dante clone, people. There is a few moves both him and Dante know, thus they are the same exact thing. Go pick up Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I would like to say 2 things.
1. Capcom chose the perfect theme for Vergil. It's what everyone wanted.
2. Dante, Vergil, and Wesker team FTW!
So, Vergil fights like a combination of TVC Karas (at least pretty similar in ground normals), some Dante moves and a couple of Wesker trails, but at the same time is really faithful to its DMC3 character.
I don't know why, but Iron Fist remains me of Polymar, Fei Long and maybe a little Makoto. It is an interesting combination and I would like to try this character when the game get release.
So far, I love how Vergil, Strider and Doctor Strange turn up, so maybe I'll form a team with those 3.

Yeah dummy, Frank is Megamans brother, MvC3 is more unique than MvC2 by a long shot, Capcom has their own reason for Megaman to not appear but dont bash the other characters
Neither of these characters are 'clones'.
Vergil and Dante do share helm breaker(j.s), killerbee(j.QCF L) and stinger(f.h). They also share a few others moves (Dante's launcher for example) yet Vergil does not have those. But if you focus on what he DOESN'T share with Dante instead of what he does share, then you'll see that he's a very different character.
Iron Fist is not a 'clone' of Polimar or Fei Long, etc.
He's more like a mixture of Jam Kuradoberi + Polimar w/ MODOK's LoUs.
But he isn't a direct clone of any of those characters and he has his own moves and is unique in his own way.
Besides, judging a character before you've even played with them is completely idiotic.

As for Virgils level 1 super that people are calling the new orbs, it does look promising to me. A few obvious differences being it has no timer so it has a limited number of hits (but it also has no timer so yeah!), we have yet to see if it is any good on the defensive side of things...but we can see that he can form different attacks from it, much like how spiral does with her swords...except they are constantly rotating by default. Really, really cool, and it will probably be the center of his game, so I am excited
As for Ironfist honestly I really don't know what to say besides he hits like a tank....he seems good, I would rather here some legit info on him before making assumptions though

just so you guys all know, Iron fist was inspired by Bruce lee (Watch video documentary "How Bruce lee changed the world" and Stan Lee even say he is, just like how Fei-long, Marshall law and Forest Law. So to assume he is a clone, well they all are clone of the same guy,, and was an easy way for Capcom to introduce a Feilong type character without having to Draw more Characters for Street Fighter (since we have 4 already)

Just from this video alone, Vergil is no different than Dante other than the fact he has an air hyper and a different ground hyper which works almost like Strider's orbs in mvc2.

Virgil is in no sense of the way a clone, just because he came from the same series doesnt justify it. He DOES have similar attributes on some attacks but he fights completely different and has his own new moves.

#43 While I agree with you in the fact that I don't agree with Capcom's marketing decisions, at the end of the day, I just wanna have a fun. And MvC3 is very fun. Buying an updated version is pretty much standard with Capcom at this point. And if someone wants an updated version of a game they think is fun with more characters, stages, and a bunch of modes yet to be announced, then let them be. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. I wouldn't mind if they released the game and updated it with Free DLC and balance patches like MK, but Capcom does things differently. People just want fun fighting games. Now, am I gonna buy it right away? No. But when I get the chance and I have $40 on me, I will. Because I play games for FUN. Money's not an issue for me because I'll make more anyway, and I choose how I want to spend it. Capcom's not forcing me to fork over the dough. Iron fist has a crumple special that is able to be comboed into as shown in the first video of him, that alone will make him insanely good not to mention his over all damage output is legit im guessing he will be a strong character. Now vergil on the other hand is the definition of jack of all trades (like dante but different moves and seemingly not as many. Maybe a bit slower???) especially with those specials the dash that covers the ground in sword slashes, the dive kick, upwards kick, and his sword slash orb thing just about cover every situation im excited to see more stuff on him.

Fighting games and complain about them having mass versions of basically same game are probably teenagers because all the people complaining can't be older and if the are they haven't played capcom fighters all there life because this is way far from a new tactic from them they have been doing this since I was like 8 so if you have been playing for 20 years or so there is no way you could complain because this is nothing new to you and there was 1 mode at first arcade crazy stuff then they added a versus mode so you had arcade and versus for like over a decade no one complained now you got all these people who complain 24/7 I understand people want things in there favorite game but capcom doesn't cater to individuals on a personal level so just try to enjoy what you get from them because fighters could see a drought again one day

No major combos. Just a basic run down of the things they can do. Hopefully you can see what sets them apart. If not, then I guess you just won't be a fan, but don't knock characters you don't like cause guess what? They're in, whether you like it or not and people (maybe even you) will still play with them. At this point---no, even before that, there was nothing and wouldn't have been anything, ANYTHING, you can do or say to capcom that would change it. Suck it up, or don't waste your money, but for the love of god, SHUT UP!
And btw, thats not even half of the weapons/ moves Dante has to offer but what you saw with Vergil is all you'll get.
I remember when vanilla mvc3 was coming out and people were going crazy over the number of moves Dante had. If Vergil is supposedly a clone of Dante, where's his millions of moves he can do like Dante? I saw what, 3 or 4 out of the tons of moves and etc Dante can do. Man, sure looks like a clone to me -. - If he really is though, then you should easily be able to interchange him and Dante from your team without any problems right?
Anyways that Vergil assist looks nice for cross-ups and Iron Fist looks nice, bringing a new, unique fighting style into the game. New stages look nice but to be honest, I think 'oh cool, new stages' the first week into a game then it goes back to the same ole, same ole. Pretty sure no one bought vanilla mvc3 because of how the stages looked like.
@l03 are you kidding me? Did you not finish DMC3? When vergil had the force edge at the end, his super was to teleport above you and drop down with the "S" animation. He also had the stinger.
The vergil in UMVC3 is a perfect representation of DMC3 special edition. They even took his boss them and quotes from the game.
I like what I see... Vergil's voice amuses me... though I haven't played past the first DMC... Iron fist looks pretty damn fun, but those cries could get obnoxious after awhile '_';
In the training room stage I see Professor X in the background on the right side.
I notice the diffrence between Dante & Vergil is that Vergil does not use guns & only uses swords.
Chun Li fighting Thor, I think shes fighting SuperSkrull the shape-shifter instead.
Chun Li should a front flip kick slam she had in SFIII or SFIV as an OTG ground bounce move.
just so people know... being butthurt about certain characters not being in the game, doesn't mean you have to come and hate on the characters who did make it. the vergil hate is annoying as hell. and non-idiot who saw him in DMC would know he fights somewhat similar to dante in some ways... they are brothers, after all.

@130 oh so I'm a dummy at least I'm not a follower.WTF is so great about Frank West.He's a douche with a camera wow big effin deal and I can bash all I want because in case you haven't noticed we are spending our hard earned money on this game but hey decisions are decisions so I guess it doesn't matter.I just feel that if you're going to throw out names of characters you want in a fighting game at least state your reasons why you feel he should be in the game.No one is doing that.Don't get me wrong I love Capcom and Marvel but Frank West is a waste of space.Forgive me for getting his special I mean I wasn't a huge fan of TvsC so sue me dweebs lol.

And, for people calling him a clone...really? Like, for real? You guys are making yourselves look stupid over the internet. If anybody says that they're gameplay clones, and then turn around and say that Wolverine and X-23 are totally different, then I'm going to have to smack 'em through my laptop screen.
And, for the people that insist on spelling it "Virgil", his name is right there at the top of the page. I really don't understand. It's like the people that spell Sean from 3S "Shawn"...
Iron Fist's music sounds cheesy as all hell, but that's part of the gimmick. He almost reminds me of Jin Saotome...

nero'd be cool as a character... though i'd rather not seen him at all if the only other option is an outfit. same for lucia.
as for fist who has more in common with Jin like werewolfgod said that Fei, i'd like to see his more recent outfit. Not necessarily in white/gold but that version. the design is just bad-ass max. giving him like daredevil's outfit would be whack. even orson randall's with the funs and pouches would be cool [for the design trolls, bot to use]
Vergil may be a clone in style somewhat, but if Dante has 40 moves and Vergil has 40 moves, but most of them are different, then it's hard to really call them clones. I didn't see too many of Vergil's moves that were just straight up copies of Dante moves other than the Devil Trigger and and that rolling spin thing that NOBODY uses with Dante anyways.
Iron Fist looks cool, not my type of character, but he's nice to have in the mix. I'm sure I'm gonna find that crumple stun move of his quite annoying.
