The official Street Fighter X Tekken website was updated with new information on the various gameplay options the title has to offer, including Pandora mode, online training room, scramble battle, an ambiguous gem system and more. The epic story of Street Fighter X Tekken begins with that mysterious box...!
(When your vitality gauge is under 25%)↓↓MP+MK simultaneously
The story of Street Fighter X Tekken begins with a mysterious meteor that crash lands in the Antarctic. Within the meteor is a strange box-shaped object named "Pandora", which is beyond human comprehension. It cannot be opened by conventional means, but gives off a strong response when it detects violent confrontations.
• Press ↓↓MP+MK simultaneously when your vitality gauge is under 25% to activate Pandora. When you activate Pandora, your partner's strength will increase exponentially.
• The power of the character who calls upon Pandora is necessary to fuel the technique. By sacrificing their vitality to Pandora, their partner will be able to enter Pandora mode.
• Pandora is a system with a built-in time limit. In Pandora mode, the Cross Gauge will be filled to maximum capacity, and you will be able to use EX and Super Arts infinitely. However, if you are not able to defeat your opponent within the time limit, you will automatically be knocked out. Be careful when you use this technique!
Tip from Brazilanubis3 and Tnoavila.
Gem System:
My Ryu is different from your Ryu!?
The traditional Cross Gauge from before now has slots above and below it! What exactly do these do!? You'll find out more about this soon!

This could be what Ono was talking about regarding the future of fighting games where you can customize your character [Ryu] to be different than someone elses [Ryu].
infinite bar? really now. the time limit better be really really short, like 15-10 seconds.
Pandora is the stupidiest thing I have ever heard. Having a x factor type move in a non super jump / air dash fighting game will just ruin it. Unlimited super gauge is crap and unfair. Just look at the survival missions in SF4.
Seriously Capcom, if you want this game to sell / get hype, you may want to reconsider this OP feature. You don't need to "test" the pandora to see if there is any revision to be made before the golden disk is made. Unlimited super and EX just sound OP and unfair.
@12
But it comes with a risk, juz run away for a lil while and the match is over. And if your gettin your ass stomped and activate pandora then it still won't help you from gettin beat, it looks like it actually helps you lose faster.
Running away shouldn't be hard for a lot of ppl, I see ppl run away all the time when I use FSE with Juri.
Heres why i think just from how the game works why pandora is balanced to me.
1. You have to sacrifice your partner. That means no cross assit supers, no cross counters, no mixup games at all, and you cant switch out a low health partner, you are forced to potentionally face 2 very healthy characters that can just switch out when you get one down, or go in pandora themselves and run away till your timer goes down.
2. This isnt marvel. Unless certain characters have EX moves that are very difficult to avoid fullscreen, you cant spam, and supers arnt something you can just use full screen like Marvel and expect 80% health gone.
3. Both players have it, the conditions are very strict, and we have not even played this mode to see it.
This is not Xfactor scaling, this is not 30 seconds with 1 character with tracking fireballs, the characters arnt getting faster from the vids, and you die at the end period. People, stop freaking.
People have mentioned the pandora timer is just long enough to get out 2 full ultras. That's not long at all and makes the "infinite use of super/ultra" sound way less imposing. People are assuming the worst and having bad xfactor phoenix flashbacks. This is in no way as long a time period as that.
As I said if the game is the same expect at least the one infinite I mentioned in the final. That said If your opponent Pandora's they have to deal with your extremely good techniques like Shoryu tag cancels and really long combos from tag canceling. If you had both are about to lose just wait a sec after they pandora and return the favor. You both have unlimited meter and you can waste their time with the same abilities as they will run out before you.
Hmm... really! Well I'd hav 2wait 2C how this turns out when the game actually comes out, cuz otherwise I'm guessing U'd jus:
1) Play normally utilizing one char and using tags only for combo's and cross specials
2) Then when that char gets ready 2die U'd use cross assualt 2bring both chars on the screen at once and fill up Ur life bar (since this uses no meter and combines both chars health bars)
3) Now wit Ur main char re-vitalized U'd play until U'd got 2 under 25% health and then of course use Pandora mode.
4) If U still haven't won then Ur F*CKED!
=D
@19 U sound lyk a troll, I lyk that kind of ingenuity
oh & since Pandora mode takes up Ur cross gauge, then it should last just as long as cross assualt mode when both chars R on the screen at the same time.
=D
So basically you should use this when you feel you absolutly have no choice.
You guys, this mode is not something you HAVE to do. It's super risky, Im sure there will be some set ups but the only reason you want to use this is to beat your opponent with 100% certainty. It's not like you can run the clock out with it and win of course.
Hope its a 10-15 sec time limit, this way, it will be an all or nothing gamble. One will really have to be on the verge of losing to take that gamble!
Give pandora a chance please and stop whining all the time.
U guys should watch that lili trailer again it doesn't even seem to last that long, maybe a good 6-8 secs. I wonder if it has Roman cancel type properties
@31
6-8 secs would be good. But they shouldnt allow it to cancel at all. Then it will be something to combo into and prob kill. It shouldnt be safe on start up, ie if im rushing down and u mass it ur character comes in open and will walk right into a combo.
You guys are idiots.
Gem System is more intriguing at this point.
sounds like x-factor bullsh1t anyway you slice it ...
two guys beat each other one has 30% health and the other has 24% ...
24% guy uses pandora gets unlimited ex-moves , invulnerability , priority, safety , increase chip damage and high damage are all associations you make with ex-moves ...
24% pandora guy puts other guy in a f*uck up block string of crazy chip damage and , mix him up and with unlimited over prioritized ex moves
including the floaty tekken gravity expect easy ass 60% combos
who ever has the best close quarters ex moves and can continue from there are going to be op in this game -
i assume ibuki with her air super is gonna benefit like crazy from this including her high low ex-kick move and maybe bob aswel
on another note:
pandora looks freeze frame so i'm guessing it can be used as a cancel for combos and/or during your own block strings to further your own block strings/mix ups..
they might be crazy enough to make it a alpha counter but lets hope not
doesn't nearly half as bad as xfactor, there a risk with this, with x factor it;s a case of activate then fight as normal but with a better char
this forces you to rush down like crazy plus the fact that if u activated first then ur opponent can still activate and not have to worry bout the death timer cause u've already commited, i think this sounds really good
you wouldn't want to activate it if ur opponent still has a lot of life for both his characters because you wont have enough time to finish him, good work capcom, all u bitches think something through before u dismiss it as broken
I love how people complain before the game is even out. It's just too funny. I seem to recall a large amount of whining when phoenix's health was announced to be the lowest in the game....
@34 WARGROUND_COOK i find it hard to imagine characters will have unlimted block strings in pandora espcially since only supers and specials chip, and u have the advantage of being able to tag cancel, plus ur pandora will still be ready to go to go whe his timers half used up, u forgetting you can fight back against an activated character.
Does ibuki have her air super in this? and it's be easy to punish if ur expecting her to jump up and super for the 20th time in a row.
I was watching the japan steam and man gief does so much damage off a command throw when he's in pandora mode. That he looks like he can beat a whole team with just 5 of them it's crazy lol.
@34 It's not like PM is gonna be a "win" button like in MvC3. It last for only 10 seconds. And the only thing that you get are unlimted EX moves and super with no partner. And it's not like the other peson can't fight back. Are you just gonna sit there and let him beat you up to death?
This ain't turtle fighter IV, if your not moving, your not winning.
Its way better then X-Factor where you get (i dont know the actual number) like a 200% damage increase and kill chars in 4seconds and its better then Ultra, because at least you need some execution and you have a little room for customization in your final combo. I think this one could actually be fun. However, its still a comeback feature. I hope its even weaker then Ultras wich were ok, but still annoying. If they would still only allow one Super but unlimited ex moves and maybe make it into a cancel like Xfactor were you can extend your combos, it could be fun. If its one random hit to 40% damage, i wont like it.
Quit bitching and give it a chance. I think it's a decent idea. The risk factor is what intrigues me the most when activating Pandora mode. It's like a last minute desperate thing that you have to think about, especially when you're in serious competition.
this is going to be dumb im soo tired of comeback factors in fighting games
To be honest, it sounds like Pandora is gunna be pretty useless, if you activate it, then your opponent can just activate his for free, since yours WILL run out before his, so he has no risk of losing the game from it. Also, if the counter stays active while super animations are going on, then if your opponent immediately activates it, and then does a super/ultra or whatever, then that's half your timer gone already, because like someone said before, you only have enough time to do 2 ultras before you die, so that's one already gone.
#50
8 Sec sweet
hey comeback lovers feel free to spam the crap out of Pandora lol, know that if I don't kill ya your comeback will.
I think your going to have to work your enemies health down to almost empty before you use P-ism.
I love this because it dosen't reward getting you butt kicked.
pandora mode must really be good! 25% health and strict time limit on pandora mode but how strong is it really? To sacrifice one tag partner to activate! Hope its not xfactor dark phoenix all over again! Wanna see this pandora mode and its use's on the battlefield. How effective is it really? Should i sacrifice my super/tag arts for it? im hyped!!!!!!!!!
so u can tag, have a friend with you, and duke it out 1on1 or 1on2. pretty sick, now we need more characters, wrestlers, shotos exc.
can u and ur opponent have pandora mode at the same time? this is gonna be hella crazy!! I tought it was gonna be sf4 all over again. it feels like tekken tag, sf4, with a smash brother type gamplay with crazy comeback factors like mvc3. hope capcom takes there time, im in no rush for this game. Have incredibly clean gamplay and more characters. i cant wait! heres hoping for fuerte and mika. i really wanna see how mikas gonna look sf4 3d ized. Just imagine poison vs mika, nothing but booby action, and butts in the air. rolento looks real sick. he has that crazy look in his eyes that he should of been in a next gen fighting a long time ago. well its ur time to shyne now!
Shoutouts to Capcom for ripping this straight from Samurai Spirits.
That's one weird system. Don't know what to say about that!
I can smell lots and lots of cheap damages on the way.
