The Ken guide for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition has been updated on EventHubs. In it you'll find a list of combos for you to learn along with move properties.Ken is one of the best "jack of all trades" characters in SF4. He has strong reversals, deadly knockdown tactics and one of the longest-ranged kara throws in the game. While characters that have lots of effective tools take a while to master, Ken is definitely worth the practice.
Ken's weaknesses are his walk speed, the lack of range on his Focus Attack and his extremely poor backdash. His Ultras are either weak in combos or tough to land. These weaknesses are not very substantial, but they're enough to be a hindrance.

I would probably main Ken if it weren't for the fact that he's so looked down upon. I've messed around with him, and I like the simplistic shoto style, but he's so hated by so much of the community that I'd rather not bother with him.
This guide should talk more of Ken's other Karas. Sure Kara-grab is the famous one, but there's more. Kara-Fireball helps him zone/match a fireball while advancing. Kara Air-Tatsu serves as an air escape and occasionally a long range jump-in. Kara Focus is a good advancing tool.

Because I feel like I'm being a dick if I main higher tier/newbie friendly characters. I know the feeling of frustration up against a flowchart in SSF4 or turtleChun in 3S. I don't want to end up continuing that garbage.
That and I play on Xbox live and I don't feel like playing mirror matches most of the time.
I dont really care for people who main ken. unless they do something impressive/unorthodox,but is there really a need for an updated guide to ken though? if anything i think some other characters could use an updated guide. didnt seth's play style change a lot from super? im sure there are others.On another note. kens focus attack does not seem that bad \:
Well I appreciate people not picking him because he's just so crazily overused, so thanks Snow_monkey. 60% of my online fights are against Ryu or Ken and this gets boring very fast. As far as I can tell if more people decided to pick someone else the game would be a better place for all. I'd even grow to not hate Ken if I didn't have to fight him every other match.
I just switched my main from Ken, and I must say, Ken isn't as easy to use as some people think. Sure you can crush noobs that don't have a clue what they are doing, but you really have to know Ken forward and backwards to be effective with him against the average player. Frame traps, kara throw, and character specific mix-ups are a must.
Because everyone online plays shotos so often, EVERYONE knows the Ken match-up better than any other match-up, so you have to work for your wins when you're playing as Ken.
#26 pretty much has it, maining a Ken at competitive level is very tough because everyone knows his options. Since you have to rely on his mix ups that everyone knows, this makes playing him a paradox of sorts. Also, the jab SRK is just his noob barrier, anyone that doesn't get around it just needs to study more of the game.
That being said, this is a great guide, props to you Nyoro.
wow #26 is about the only smart comment here
I thought the Ken prejudice had died out with supersf4 but I guess people are still morons who actually dont know that much about the game
Ken=Faster Ryu
Akuma=Faster Ryu with a Air Fireball, Dive mix-ups and a teleport
