The page by Kyosuke from France has been keeping a running tally of which fighters have qualified for Super Battle Opera, otherwise known as Tougeki. The SSF4 AE part of the tournament features a 2v2 format just like last year's SBO. This year it looks like Super Battle Opera will be featuring the best of the best, with too many talented players to list.pay per view? really? Seriously man dont watch any streams out of japan.
@6 I agree! Pay-per-view for this is ridiculous.
No one repping Hakan in there, s'all good.
When I get out of my parents basement I'll show em. >:{
1 Akuma...
Come on Capcom don't be stupid..Akuma needs to stay the same in AE 2K12...
@#15
Oh, he did try. Quite a few good players just did not make it.
Ikari Oyaji, Zangitan, -R-, Poongko, Nekojita, Neurosis, Kiryu Tsukimiya, Gamerbee, Air... They all tried and lost.
Heck, Momochi failed in like two qualifiers before finally getting in. Mago too, IIRC.
Also, it's not like those Yuns went in Solo and won. They usually have a strong teammate as well.
MDR(yun) with Haitani, Banbanban with KOK, Kazunoko with OjisanBoy(of the scariest teams IMO).
SBO quals are not that easy in Japan, that is for sure.
No Seth, Dan, Gouken, Balrog, Sakura, Oni, Evil Ryu, Adon, Dudley, Hakan, Cody, Dee Jay
no Balrog is surprising...
Wait, so what happened to Poongko??? Does he also hate the formot of the tournament so he didn't enter or what???
@24
So who lost in qualifers, Poongko or Gamerbee???
@28
Seriously? Dame, are there any videos of either Poongko or Gamerbee losing during the qualification rounds?
There are actually 4 Hondas with Henry Cen replacing Dieminion. The website still lists Dueminion which mean that with him not being able to attend that there is no Guile at least until the last qualifying day.
Honda: 4
Guile: 0
@31
You could hit the link in the post.
It's Bananaken.
@#29
You act as if they never lose.

@ fireinthehole
He didn't make it.

I'm not saying that. The thing here is that for Poongko to qualify, he only had to face Korean players. And so far, I've been seeing him just rape and maul every one from Korea. The only Korean player that has a remote chance against Poongko is Infiltration, and I heard that Poongko beat him so I'm a little surprised that he didn't make it through.
@fireinthehole Korea qualifier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isc5-S... http://www.youtube.com/user/KingOfTek....
Poongko and Hyde lost but they will probably attend the last qualifying day as they are presently in Japan for Kantou Ayana Cup. Gamerbee is also going to Japan for the Kantou Ayana Cup. I am no sure if SBO had any spots reserved for Taiwan like the US and Korea. He might try to qualify once there.
@#23
Sags has always been strong plus there's a fair few decent Sags in Japan.
@38 Not necessarily. I think BIGDANMUL, the Makoto player that Poongko lost to in the clip LordJim posted, is Japanese. I know he was in the Godsgarden same-day qualifier and made it out of pools at least. You don't have to be Korean to play in the Korean qualifier.
@46
The better player wins most of the time, be it a single match of ft10.
It's true that a single match(or any single session for that matter) cannot determine the truly better player, but it is not random. Calling it random is like calling the whole damn game such.
The one who reaches the top is the team that managed to beat anyone in their way. Nothing random about it
My post may seem contradicting, but a big skill gap is not overcome just by flukes. And a single session, even if it was FT10 would still not determine the better player. It takes hundreds of matches over a period of time to be able to say 'That guy just beats the other consistently'. But you do not have the luxury for such prolonged sessions in a tourney.
@FIVEC, With all the information posted about Kantou Ayana Cup that was not mentioned anywhere else you have to be picky because I am was not sure if TW had qualifiers.(Not sure is different from there is not). Regarding the site in the source, I've relayed these sites in previous postings. At the end of the day, there is a last day qualifying event where players who missed out can still make it and yes Gamerbee, Poongko,HYde are presently in Japan(maybe you knew before my posting but not everyone on this site knew that). Don't post to boat, please contribute as well.
On another note, does anyone know where Kantou Ayana Cup will be streamed? There are going some great teams especially the one involving Kuroda using Ryu. The teams are broken down here:http://beastnote.blogspot.com/2011/09/kantou-ayano-cup-2nd-entry-list-2.html

Yes, and Marn is so very successful in SF4, he won like the very first Arcade tournament of AE when nobody had even really practiced it in the US and...that is it. Oh, or Super with his Dudley...Oh wait. Occasional Hail Mary happens in all fighters.
And if you DROP your combos, getting punished is still your fault.
You may dislike the game's pace, reversal windoes or other parts of teh mechanics but it is still not random.
And it's still not a high damage game compared to most other fighters where you can deal more damage with less resources.
@56: Yes, how dare Street Fighter games have strategy.
(I wonder what game he thinks is the best SF of all time...?)
@56
i agree. They need to promote offensive/risk vs reward gameplay. Goin for throw mixups/resets doesnt even seem worth it when u consider a simple mashed dp with some bar would eat up big chunks of ur bar.
But u know, at the end of the day sf4 isnt gonna change, all we can do is hope sfxtekken does away with it.
-No inv frames on backdash
-No short cuts
-No crouch teching
-No smaller reversal windows
-Add guard meter
we need an edit feature.
-SMALLER reveral windows
SBO has always been PPV and for the naiive ppl thinking it'll be uploaded soon after: it won't happen. Maybe only the finals and Arcadia will of course take them down.
@64
i dont play sf3, st is where its at.
And dont bs urself and think that all the stuff i listed wasnt in other sf games. Marvel doesnt even give u inv frames on backdashs. Seriously nobody should be surprised that sf4 is a turtle fest.
@72
cause all the stuff i listed is casual bs. In the end it hurts capcom, there not gonna be able to sell old school games to newer players because they wont have those baby mode crutchs.
But i guess ur one of those guys that mashs buttons and think he knows sf but when the time comes for older games u either get bodied or u dont even play.
@74
yea, thats why u have no arguement.
On topic.
I figured people would be more vocal about the pay per view stream. Thats just crap, we had evo for free so idk wat there problem is. I totally understand that it costs money to get the streams done but they can just run commericals/ads during intermissions to try to earn some funding.
lol, why would I bother arguing. Not my level thx x
Again Yun is the one with the most tier whores. You know who you all are. ><
I'm just tired of seeing Yun Yun Yun Yun.....Yun Yun.
............Yun Yun Yun.
One mention for each tier whore this tourney has so far.
isn't this what the idiots who didn't want a patch to see? a bunch of yuns.. every tournament..
@80 Well, isn't that what they're doing? I mean, unless the stream is only available to Japanese viewers for some reason. Anyway, I really don't think these guys are doing it for the respect of the stream monsters. They're doing it for the respect of the community, which they'll get whether it's streamed or not.
Why are they making it seem like Daigo might attend this. He's already confirmed to be doing an exhibition vs 50 scrubs instead of going to SBO. I guess he did this to make himself feel better because he's on a massive losing streak.
"The SSF4 AE part of the tournament features a 2v2 format just like last year's SBO."
That's not true! Last year was 3v3! The winning-team was: Kindevu, Momochi, RF!
God, so many killers:
Kazunoko/Ojisanboy, MDR/Haitani, Nemo/Kyabetsu, Bonchan/Momochi, Fuudo/Itabashi Zangief, Mago/Tokido!
i wonder who that lone rose qualifier is
