Now regarding the vid, or in spite of it, until someone starts winning major tourneys with Blanka, then can the bitching on how cheap he is can start. But ultiantely,Blanka will always be at a most a mid tier character.

I still see some pretty broken and questionable hurtboxes for Blanka in super.

As you can see, the top limit of his hurtbox changes as his head bobs. When you look at the video, when Blanka's headbobs are in-time with Ryu's st.Roundhouse you get the same results as AE.
Although we don't have any leaked hitbox data for AE, I'd assume they just make it not bob up so that it's more consistent. (Even if you'd say it's more consistently broken.)
@17 I doubt they are going to do anything about it, it's been that way with some characters since Vanilla. Also people still didn't explore some Alts like Cody's Alt 1 changing his hurtbox or pushback and making some combos whiff.
lol more excuses for people to hate blanka. Until u see this happen in tournament play it really doesnt matter. I have fought 1000000000000's of ryus with blanka and have yet to ever see that happen in a match.
Catalyst just a blanka hater tbh. Like Q80Warlock said, codys alt 1 changes some of his properties and im sure there are other characters with similar stuff, people just want a reason to hate a character that isnt even tournament worthy.

THis doesnt change anything. Cmon now, all this does is get the haters out trying to say this is the reason they lose to blanka, comment 6 did that exactly(who the hell meaties with standing rh?). Plus if this was real game breaking it would have been in use since vanilla 3 years ago but its not.

man, that's why blanka's reversal electricity always works even if you stuff a meaty move, because he'd dodge the first few frames of your move and then get electricity out, which has no invincibility..

You know there are other moves that whiff on him, in fact there are various links that can't be done on blanka and ONLY on blanka since his hitbox is so whacky. But that's fine for all I care. I just said that I've encountered this specific hitbox thing aswell, with another character and another move. btw, I whish there would be an ignore function, I rarely use one if available, but you deserve it big times, being insultive for no reason AND stupid on top.
So what if Catty doesn't like Blanka, neither does Gootecks, more me for that matter.
He's annoying because with lag the character is unbearable to fight, which everyone deals with in the US. He can spam multiple moves and for some characters, quite difficult punish. He isn't winning at a high level because he has some big weaknesses, but you shouldn't compare pros to people who are playing online in the general scheme of things.
As a Blanka player I have to ask - What's the big deal?
This doesn't change the fact that good players body Blanka with ease. And they do it with pretty much anyone in the cast.
The truth is Blanka is a very limited char.
If anyone wants to beat Blanka - follow this recipe...
Go to the corner and play lame.
Spam cr.j to shut down all Blanka balls
Anti-Air any jump ins or hop back balls
Focus and punish any slides
Watch out for throws
That's pretty much it.
I never understood why ppl complain all day about Blanka.
None of his moves are safe to spam. Hell, even his bnb combo (cr.s, cr.s, cr.s, s.j, ball) requires several 1 frame links. And even after it hits, a lot of the cast can still punish it.
Bottom line - Blanka is a high risk - low reward char.

Gootecks sucks so i dont know why u even bring him up. The freakin guy uses balrog(meathead mode), blanka should be the last character he cares about, mind u he plays this super lame style on top of that.

all the blanka haters dont know that. Its funny, i have a friend that at first thought blanka was a easy made character that got free wins. So what we did was he used blanka for the night and i used my other characters. End of the night after geting busted up i dont here anything about blanka being cheap anymore. This should be the same thing blanka haters do, hes cheap? easy mode? annoy? dont pick ryu and use him and see wat its all about.
@50 I agree. Having Blanka as my former main, he is very limited, but his mix-ups can be very tricky and insane if done right. And his ball isn't exactly as safe as people think it is. Being punished by something while the ball actually still hits sucks too.

If I do a quick roundhouse to your face, should it go through you? Unless your a ghost then no. It's a simple problem that should simply be fixed. No argument can counter that.

I don't know why you want to play stupid. Do you really think all characters are the same given the same amount of lag? Blanka's spammable moves allow him to take more advantage of it. Only a simpleton would get busted up by Gief's lariat because they kept jumping.

I'd like to think you are aware that the people complaining about Blanka are not high level players. I didn't see he was good, but to say he isn't damn annoying is hilarious.

No one ever said Blanka was good, that's not the hindrance. The main thing I think is that you have to turtle against Blanka if you have a grappler and the fight is just long and drawn out. Even when Daigo played a good Blanka, he had to play SUPEEEEEEEEEEEEER lame in that match.

The game would be boring if one play style always won.
That's why I say the twins are slightly OP. They can simply rush-down and (for the most part) not care what you do. (Having said that I still don't think they're as bad as I read about online)
I think it's good to play certain matches differently.
Blanka can rush-down Geif.
But when playing Sim you've got to go slow and work your way past the zoning.
But with Able it's 50/50. Wait for and opening, rush-in do some damage and mix-ups, and get out. Cause if Able w/ meter gets you, he can blow up Blanka in seconds.
For me, learning the game and making adjustments is part of what makes it fun.

as in cheap, i busted his arse in an electric storm... he didn't know the matchup, so i ran him over.
if you don't know what you can do with your character, blanka is a very hard matchup. but if get it what you can do and what not, same goes for blanka, people realise blanka is far from cheap.
as for the comment from catalyst about the "if you stick with it"... i dont see any kind of blanka hate. like #58, i see it related to the video = watch it in full length.

I know Blanka is not the best character by any means but I just don't like his playstyle. Not to mention every Blanka I meet just Spams Electricity when being attacked or does random hops/jumps into nothingness, or does a safe blanka ball whenever he feels like it (not so anymore).
He was my first most hated character but that kind of changed though I dont have any trouble fighting against him now. And yea I didnt wanna watch 4 minutes of ST.Rh missing :p
the sad thing about the crying is that all it takes is a few minutes on srk or here and u can get the info u need for the match up. It just shows what the community is all about.
