@13 I agree all these people wanting nerfs the player makes the character as you can see Cody cleaned house Rhys what happens when good players pick up new characters they will still bust your a** in reality with good strategy mixup and training most all characters can defeat the other top tiers people just lazy and want easier wins
Well it looks like there two types here. The types to win and the types to play. If you are to pick characters that are obviously just straight better than another for the advantage of winning rather that picking/selecting a character that more accommodates your play style that's the factor that separates the players. Do you play fighting games just to win or do you play to play the game? Anyone can be with with a character with the right strategy and training. I've seen people Zangief and Dhalsim like the way they are suppose to be played. But picking a character because they are high tier or just overall broken then that just shows how much skill as a player you have.
I'd bang Chocoblanca. It's such a shame that she's being wasted on a ugly guy like Momochi.
@most people above. What are you guys talking about? VER.2012 is still in Beta testing. Yun and Yang haven't been nerfed in the version they were playing at the tourney. Momochi had announced that he would be exclusively playing Cody for the event as it was on console. For now until Tougeki, he only wants to play Yun in the arcade because of slight differences with the console version. AFter TOugeki, he may resume playing Yun on console. That's how you play yang, just grind people down. Yang command grab isn't that great not because the move is bad but the fact you don't get those easy huge combos out of it compared to Yun or Fei's grab (unless you do some Seiei Enbu combo or a st.jab ultra 1 link) so the risk/reward for going for a grab mixup isn't as good for Yang. I thought the yang player was playing solid, using the massive frame advantage of st.jab to attempt overheads constantly and poking away with solid pressure. Yang is pretty balanced to be honest he gets such a bad stigma because he's a twin but I don't think he is anywhere close to as good as Fei/Yun/C.Viper/Akuma. I base that mostly off tournament results because I really haven't seen Yang win anything. Yang is really getting some heavy undeserved nerfs in the AE balance patch, kind of sucks actually.
Really feel like Xiang's Gen needs some work, but it's hard to argue when he gets into the high ranks like this. His meter use makes me cringe sometimes, though. What's kind of nice about the glut of Yuns and Yangs is that they are both pretty even matchups for Gen. Makes me wish that Amiyu would go to some tourneys.

Are you on crack? 0.96/1.2 range, 10/7 startup, EX being throw invincible? Do you know that Fei's is much slower and has about the same range? You know that Makoto's longer grab doesn't reach 1.1?
Quit defending your main 'cause you aren't good, if you think everyone of those Super characters is stronger than Yang you're either biased or plainly clueless.

Everyone else with a hitstun grab has better options off of it, Yun can cr.mp, st.mp upkicks or shoulder > Genei Jin combo, Makoto's does damage and has super armor and she can raw ultra off of it, Fei has Huge damage, his close stand fierce flamekick fadc chicken wing is massive and he can cover most of the throw startup by canceling it from a st.jab. Yang isn't even my main I was just pointing out that maybe why the person in the video didn't go for a ton of grabs in the matches was because it isn't that great of a risk/reward for yang. I wasn't saying that it's a bad move it's just his post grab options usually consist of 1 normal into mantis slashes for 200ish damage..not that great compared to just a normal throw that worst case scenario just gets teched.
@22 Yangs command grab is SOLID.
Its part of his mixups, every move yang has is VITAL for his mix up game.
Even blocking and palm fakes is part of his mixups, u have to not do the same thing every time or else ur opponent(especially the one that can read well) will destroy u and probably keep u from doing reset damage. Yang relies mostly on resets for better damage. U cant just play simple mode or beast reset mode alone with Yang and expect to win, u must mix it up especially if your opponent knows how Yang plays.
The thing with Yun is that he can combo into Genei Jin so that means he can do it from flip grab. People dont see that flip grab because alot of good players save that flip grab till they get a chance to use Super. Basically the ratio to land a super for Yun is high. But Yang on the other hand cannot combo into Seie Enbu unless u land a Focus attack, so this proves that Yang is a mix up character, and Yun is a pure pressure character.
Cody and Gen? Mind is blown. Did they ban Yun in the tournament or something?
