Updated: Covering their side of things as well, Marvel.com has posted the colors for Wolverine and Magneto, as with the last time around, here's a preview of the goods.

Earlier: On Capcom-Unity, Ryan posted how all 6 colors for Wesker and C. Viper will look in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, including some of their inspirations. Here are a few of the notable images to get you started.

That's not really a Gambit color scheme (its a stretch), same goes with the "Nick Fury" one. Though I do like Dictator/Bison Wesker, "Magneto" Wesker, and Claire Viper

Viper's new costumes still resemble Juri and Hakan in some ways, that's kinda funny.

It's not supposed to be a Nick Fury costume, it's supposed to be a trenchcoat, and they willingly admit that Gambit is a stretch, because it's actually supposed to be jungle Wesker.

How Capcom works:
1) Artist design alternate colors;
2) Creative director approves;
3) PR finds someone with free time to find "things" to the best of his ability that look like the chosen colors.

So much fail on Viper:
a) If they were really trying to make her colors like Ursula's, the tie should be orange, her lips should be rouge, her should be white-gray.
b) As for Claire's colors, the belt is off, the hair is off, the shoes are wrong, the gloves are wrong... unless the artist is color blind.

Enough said, don't even need to mention Wesker's fails.

@DR_jam they're not about to change everything in the character to fit claire
and if you read the discription of the purple color choices it's basically to fit the royal purple villian theme(what they did for Wesker's purple outfit)

And this is the only reason I can think of why Gambit Wesker has white hair

Claire Redfield inspired Viper looks so-so but the real winner here is the Bison-Wesker one. That red is awesome. However, nothing beats Albert's "carbon fibre effect" original black. Default is boss for global saturation...

@10 They said themselves that they don't always try to match another character. Some of these are just comparisons and they said it themselves.

You should really try to read instead of just going only off of the pictures.

They specifically say they gave C. Viper a purple color in order to give her a more villainous look since there's lots of bad guys out there that wear purple. Ursula is an example since she is a purple villain. She is not the basis of the outfit.

The Claire Redfield outfit is accurate. The colors match up to how Claire looked in Code Veronica.

Complain less, read more. It'll make you look less foolish next time. :)

I have always been a big downer on costume DLC, but if Capcom released full sized versions of old school models for their new games, I might scoop up some of the dlc. Full sized SF2 dictator in MvC3 or SF4 would awesome.

and the weird color inspirations contiunes....espcially with Viper's purple color. Wth is the queen from Little Mermaid associated with a fighting game anyway?!?! Disney owns Marvel now, I understand that, but do they HAVE TO include that crap in this game?

Guys, they used Ursula as an example for evil women being purple.

Bison Wesker FTW! Lol, they took off the Virgil color, probably since hes in the game now.

The best Capcom can do is make special references, so far the best being Bon and Tiesel for Tron,Green Goblin for Firebrand, Ibuki and guy for Strider and now Veronica for Viper and Bison for Wesker, awesome, Keep it up!

I also like the creativity for some, Jaguar pants Haggar, Stone Gargoyle and the Capcom logo Firebrand

sorry if it seems like a nit pick but if they can change phoenix's alt colors then surely they can update wolverines alt colors(Namely the classic brown suite and X-Force) to look more accurate?

I seriously hope they do an unmasked Wolverine Alternate suit and I hope they don't do the one where he's wearing a t-shirt and jeans. The black jacket or the stripes would be best.

The Marvel writeups for Mag-fckn-neto and Wolverine were awesome showing each the histroy of their costumes. Bonus points for the Yipes reference.

On the other hand, the Capcom writeups for Wesker and CViper sucks, no hype at all.

You know what could've been the sickest of all alternates? If they made Magneto with a MUSTACHE! That alone regardless of colors, but with the Pringles tash, the very history of FG won't be the same.

Wesker should have a Captain Commando inspired alt, blond hair, red glasses, they're almost identical. :\
