MODOK, in a SMART players hands can be deadly,people who call him useless can suck it.
Its fun trolling when you expertly Pwn someone with MODOK and hear them rage about it XD
@SHOGUN
I know right, same goes for Arthur and Joe. I already use them, but their buffs are making them even better. I love that their balancing every character.
Awesomesaur, is he the same fightan tripfriend from 4chan?
I like videos like these that show off the lesser-used characters' true potentials. MODOK is a tricky and surprisingly versatile character and the advanced stuff shown here is proof that he can easily hang with the other more "dominating" characters.
@1
Definitely agree. MODOK may not be the coolest looking character in the game, but he's damn good when used correctly. He'll be even better in UMvC3, with the added emphasis on zoning and all, and the fact that he's gotten nothing but buffs.
@3
Sorry to break it to you, but Arthur will probably still be a bottom tier character in UMvC3, since I don't feel that he's been given enough essential buffs based on what I've read and seen. Which is a shame too, because Arthur is a pretty cool character, but he's gonna need a lot more work done to him in my opinion.
I haven't even watched the video yet, but people who say MODOK sucks have no idea what they're talking about. I hate MODOK as a character since way before MvC3, because I think he's fugly and annoying. But in MvC3 he's a great character if you actually take the time to learn him.
As with most fighting games, any character can be playable in the right hands, but MODOK isn't just playable, he's really good.

you mean to tell me someone else beat Rafael2487 to it?
@5
Higher health is a big improvement for Arthur considering his super armor gives him Defence and that he falls faster after AS makes doing OTG's easier.
He does need more things I agree and want to know what is it, but im already good him and use him like a pro, his current buffs are better already, for me atleast. Lets see what else Arthur will get.
I could never get use to modok as a character in mvc3 but I love seeing people beasting with him!
@4
Yeah, more than likely.
The end of this video was insane. Loved it.
That last round was AMAZING. I love the character. And the barrier stuff was breathtaking as well. YES!
@ #13
Yeah, I'm probably to blame for any confusion. I had the video listed as BKB vs Awesomesaur.
The MODOK player is BKB
Sorry people
I have a friend who plays MODOK.
He's the only character who I absolutely dread fighting when we play. It's a shame no one really picked up MODOK during vanilla's life span, because I think MODOK could have wrecked house easily in a couple of tournaments.
hes still a goofy character that i will never use. i care if he was top tier hes just to weird for my taste
Modok is one of my mains,happy to see people use him right:)
it was okay i guess, but calling it "expert play" is a bit too much. there was a clear skill gap between the two players.
the other guy dropped combos a bit often, missed a ton of punish situations, used bad combos (specially his magnet, note how he immediately spent a level 3 after a throw instead of tacking it after a combo), also he failed to adapt to the situation. the modok player was airthrowing to AA almost exclusively but he never attempted to tech,
the combos were okay but mastering your bnbs is pretty much step 1 regarless of who you pick. and the jamming bomb into snapback was interesting. but it probably woulnt have worked as often against a more decent opponent who would have adapted pretty quickly.

In the options under the Sound heading, there's an option to turn on "battle commentary" which is the female play by play you are hearing in this video.
MODOK is definitely a character people are sleeping on. With his buffs in Ultimate, hopefully we'll see more people use him.
