Yoshinori Ono will debut a new system for Street Fighter X Tekken at this year's Tokyo Game Show, September 15 - 18, 2011, along with new characters as well. No word on if this system has anything to do with the image he posted the other day that shows two super bars in the game, but here's the quote from his Twitter account, regardless.
Relax, everything is going to be perfect TGS Can't wait ^_^ — Kid_Nova77
Ono: Thanks, but we'll be announce about new system in Tokyo Game Show... so busy... ;)
Also, Ready-Up.net put up a short podcast interview with Yoshinori, where he mentions that the storylines between Namco and Capcom's versions of SFxT won't cross over and hints at mini games or some other kinds of extra modes like Tekken Ball could be added in, potentially as soon as TGS.
This isn't a long interview, and there's interesting stuff discussed, so it's worth hoping the link to hear Ono talk shop. You can skip straight to the Ono interview by jumping to the 01:09:00 mark of the podcast.

(WOOT COMEBACK MECHANIC ANNOUNCEMENT; IT'S GONNA BE CALLED ULTRA-CROSS-FACTOR!)
im thinking 1 vs 1 mode..like Tekken Tag 1 Had
I'm with #8 on this; one on one mode seems pretty likely I think.
Umm, guys there is already a comeback system. It's the Cross Arts.
Here comes another comeback system to completely negate the need for skill or execution.
Shoutouts to Capcom.
I think the super bar is so you can mash out reversals and supers even when getting combo'd for a 100% DMG comeback. This has a 1 frame startup and can be used by everyone.
Mini-games, sweet, im glad they didnt listen to the whiners talking about how points are useless and everything offline is useless.
Maybe it's a combo breaker or something like that...hope not though.
Love mini-games. Something fun to play while you wait for your sodium levels to dissipate after losing a ranked match.
(I was jk, it's 2v2 mode.
You didn't hear it from me tho.)
It's not a comeback system, it's two human players vs. two other human players.
How would that work (the comeback system)? I mean, it'd be broken. Get a full meter, swap characters so you have full meter, full health? It's gotta be two supers; One for each character.
Well, If they managed to do 2v2 online, let me say, this will be the greatest fighting game ever made. Even if it doesn't have that mode it may very well still be, but the fondest memories and FUNNEST times I ever had were playing tekken tag at my buddies house for hours and hours. 2v2 online will be the funnest feature on this earth. Imagine customizing your teams with your team mates, ranking with your freinds, working on setups with your team mates, or having the ability like in original tekken tag for 1 person to fight two different people. Oh please let this be!!! I know I am making a big deal about this but I have been dreaming of this for tekken tag 2 and now this for a long, long time. For those of you that don't think it's a big deal and never expereinced this in games in the past (tekken tag , MK) you don't know what you missed but are in a for a real treat.
knowing capcom, it's some dumb comeback factor again
I think it's funny that people always complain about a comeback system in saying now the less skilled get freebies or whatever well the skilled player has access to these as well it's just funny to hear people always wine nerf this buff that where's this guy like you would think half of the fans of these games didn't even play them because they have so many issues with capcom games everyone needs to chill if it's in the games adapt just because you suck or can't beat this guy don't blame it on the character or the system because reality is during that fight you lost you knee the tools the other fighter had at his disposal along with yourself maybe get better or just live with defeat
Oh and or those who don't complainpractice get better and enjoy playing then heck yea fight on
2v2 would be sweet sfxt would be a sick game to get groups of people to team up and fight each other probably also gonna have official rolento trailer and heichi (sorry iliterate)
@27: Doesn't MK9 already have 2 player online tag? CC is def. not always the innovator. BB has better Netcode & button setups & modes & characters &......MK9 has a gdlk lobby system + the tag modes.
Even so it'll be very awesome if you can team up with a friend even though that might bring a lot of complications mid-combo. ABCC..''Oh what why did you switch I wasnt ready?? -drops combo-'; would be boss though.
@42 Well they said that the game is balancing up just fine and that it's more fun to play than before. These little demos we see is never the complete package. Sometimes these demos are months behind actual development so im sure that cross assult will balance out ok.
well MK didn't do 2v2 ONLINE so that would be insane
There sure are a lot of whiners here, "oh please no comeback meter". What's wrong with revenge gauges? It actually adds to the intensity of a match, no one likes to see squash matches they are boring. Btw skill doesn't have to do with anything anyway, Ultras aren't an auto win factor.
New comeback factor: Your opponent loses 50% of his/her remaining health when you press the start button while your character is under 30% health, in addition your attacks does 200% more damage as long as your opponent has more health than you. This prevents people from beating up against a less skilled player and makes the fight more intense and fair.
here comes the come back system
