SSFIV AE technology: Ibuki, Evil Ryu, and Oni

A good bit of tech has sprung up for these less-than-popular characters. Despite Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition ver. 2012 coming up around the corner it doesn't mean that new technology can't be discovered for the time being. Here are a few videos demonstrating some known or recently discovered technology. Hit the jump for Evil Ryu and Oni.

Don't kid yourself, Days 1-364 with ibuki are kunai vortex setups.

Just curious...is there any particular basis for describing these characters as "less-than-popular?" I can only offer anecdotal evidence, but I sure do encounter plenty of Evil Ryus and Onis online. I'd have guessed they hit pretty big.

I think he means less popular in the tourney scene with really only like 1 notable Oni player (Chris Hu) and no Evil Ryus

Nice one with Oni, that's even more range than the itabashi slayer (with the same input pretty much). First 2 weren't anything special. I guess a focus attack to jab reset dash under to another jab and then jumping over them is also a double reset. And the ERyu demon was not an option select.

Yea it is autopilot but the tricks to learning Ibuki come from what to do when your crap is blocked. Well, that's true for every character haha but with Ibuki it's particularly easy to get overconfident in the same kunai setups if they work more than once. The Cr. HP shown in the video is invaluable for me because its jump cancel ability provides an escape as well as additional mixups depending on spacing.

the oni kara-demon is old too, i discovered this on train mode and was gonna post it up but someone already did here on eventhubs and srk

e.ryu is new for me cuz i never ever ever played him at all except in train mode!

That is some day 1 ibuki setups! How is it new? and that setup reset didn't even combo because her target combo wouldn't hit ryu when he's crouching

Maybe you should take sf 101 again. Since tech refers to "technical" (You might have seen it on the screen while playing? =P ) Pay more attention please.

I know right. Technology has been getting thrown around more than Paris Hilton in a rape van. As if playing SF wasn't nerdy enough, people decided to treat it like its science lol.

What is this, Thundercats (2011)? What's with the strange use of the word technology? I think the porper term would be something like "mechanics", "set-ups", "tricks", etc.

the game itself is a piece of technology.
(YO DAWG, I HEAD YOU LIKE TECHNOLOGY, SO I PUT TECHNOLOGY IN YOUR TECHNOLOGY)

moves and skills are NOT technology.

(This just bugs me for some reason.)

@18 nippon you know what he means. He's not talking about the word technical. He's talking about the use of the word technology. It's being completely misused. It sounds like someone trying to sound hip.
The iPhone 5 - that's new technology, not a combo, set up, game mechanic......

Seems to me that this 'who is alpha' thread creator is the chief abuser of mis-using the word 'technology' in describing techniques, moves, etc...

I raised this 'technology' mis-use a while ago in his thread posting:

I agree with the posters on this forum. It sounds incredibly lame to abuse the word for the sake of sounding sophisticated...

Perhaps you'd all be interested to read about my squatting 'technology' when i do my number twos...

Or my farting 'technology' when i run on the treadmill...
