We're coming down the homestretch for SFxTK's Phase1(Alpha)! and AE 2012.... We cant take rest day... ;(
Leave a comment below with what you think the two super meters in SFxT could be used for.
Submitted by Fawaz, Kuya117 and Luna.Obviously the bars are for Toy Blank and Kumas tag team fart attack.
yeah i assume its some form of a comeback mechanic. cross assault or something of that sort.
1st is X force revenge gauge
2nd is mash meter, harder you mash, faster it builds
If both are full when your team is KO'd your last character uses his last ounce of strength to summon Ultra Rugal
Also can anyone else make out Retsu in Kumas fart dust?
Maybe they are thinking changing the bar design and he posted them for comparison.
am i the only one who noticed the character who is teaming with kuma looks like akuma to me i may just be losin it but im pretty sure its him
I think it's a either a Revenge-esque meter or it's just for like double duper attacks.
I mean Super. And that's Guile you insane bunch a weirdos.
Not that I'm denying he's not in...
(IT'S OBVIOUSLY AN ULTRA X-FACTOR METER, I MEAN "CROSS"-FACTOR. WHEN BOTH FILL AND YOUR CHARACTERS DIE, THEY WILL TRANSFORM INTO THEIR MOST UNSTOPPABLE VERSIONS:
SAIKYO TIER DAN, DAIGO'S RYU, CRISCO HAKAN, DEVIL KAZUYA, RABID KUMA, IBUKI W/ PARRYING, SUPER SAIYAN IV KEN, PSYCHO SATSUI NO HADO BISON AND MORE!
PS: YOU DIDN'T HEAR THIS FROM ME, I GOTTA GO UNDERGROUND FOR A WHILE AFTER "ACCIDENTLY" LEAKING THIS)
Guys who are saying akuma are stupid. Its clearly guile...Open your eyes for america.
i wonder if ono has like mutli blanka toys or is it just one?
(I dunno if he has multiple, but the one he uses is pretty worn out. I guess he takes good care of it, but age is kinda showing)
It has to be a similar build to SSF4 in that one bar is for supers and the other is a revenge meter.
@41
SHUT UP
i have been hopeing for guard meter since sf4 was new. Seriously though we need it really bad.
...And here comes the stupid comeback mechanic.
I knew it was too much to hope for a new fighter without something that caters to the current loser.
One meter builds with everything you do and is used for EX moves and a sort of special interrupt cancel to make your unsafe attacks safe for a cost. The other only builds when you take damage and is used for some kind of super powerful "ultimate" move. For balance reasons, you won't be able to cancel into your ultimate move. It will be a comeback mechanic to make the game more exciting.
Since when is it more exciting to see the better player get shafted by something like a stupid comeback mechanic?
It's just...depressing.
@51
seriously, its lame. i dont even consider those comebacks anymore.
(It's a comeback mechanic, the corporate guys said all games have to have comeback mechanics from now on since MVC3 and SSFIV series sold so well compared to 3SOE)
I hope they have Dramatic mode in this game! That was the most fun challenging thing ever! :}
Yep, I definitely think it's related to that. Capcom has gone the way of the dogs with the casual bs.
They ruined DMC and stripped out the survival-horror aspects of RE. Why? Money, lol.
Ultras aren't even all bad, pro players like to have them when the chips are down. But yeah, getting caught by one when you're winning sucks. Basically a reward for the person getting their *** kicked. xD
I am seriously hoping that it means that's a meter for each character. And hopefully each of the four characters having their own super bar, that could mean 2 vs. 2 as in:
Me and my buddy VS. This guy and his bro.
@58
no ultras are bad. Dont forget that it has negative effects on the cast, ie if u cant combo ultra ur at a disadvantage.
(woah less skilled players standing a chance?
BLASPHEMY!
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!)
Well I like the comeback mechanics it makes fights a bit more interesting I play with alot of guys that are friends they ain't all that but they like it because they are never out of the fight majority of players ain't all skilled and we need new blood in the fighting scene so thu can continue to make dope games
I'm alot better than most of my friends that play but I try to get them into the games and teach them cuz street fighter tourneys at parties when everyone is drunk and partying is the bomb nothing more fun than that I'm sure
^Seth did say that he's found 140% combos already in the cross assault system so their going to have to dial it back. I'm trying to think of how splitting bars could help achieve that balance... And when you think about it, if they balance the game for each character having separate bars, and your super bars combine just like your health bars in Cross Assault, it would really scale down the damage as now you have a maximum of half the meter than you would have otherwise.
ye i hate it when when the comeback mechanic of fighting games allows joe nobody to destroy seasoned pros, remember when the janitor at the EVO hotel decided to play and ended up winning the whole thing...
oh wait a minute that never happened so why is everybody moaning bout it, close matches means more entertainment, more entertainment attracts more people to the community, capcom make more money and in turn have more money to make games like sfxt actually happen.
Or would everybody prefer a system that only attracts the best of the best and capcom ends up giving fighting games a break due to lack of sales just like after third strike, you can play ssfivae for another ten years right?
I actually applaud capcom for being able to find a great balance between accessibility and emphasis on skill.
I dont want something that attracts only the most hardcore players as I wanna mess around from time to time too, but doing braindead shi* that sometimes happens in SF4 & MVC3 and being able to win at least a random game or two Vs a decent player I think is stoopid mon.
Cross assault looks really hard to deal with no matter who uses it too, and you can do INSANE dmg so far incredibly fast.
But im fine with it lol, dmg does need to be toned down a bit imo but ill like it
Hahahahahaha.
Yeah that's definitely Guile there as Kuma's partner.
Kuma has officially made Guile his b1tch. Remember when Guile was the first character to eat a facefull of Kuma's fart. That fart to the face has certifiably turned Guile into Kuma's b1tch.
@68
thats the problem with the come back mechanics and the "casual" design all together. In something like super turbo if u fight a crappy player and u see that he cant tech/reversal/anti air/etc u can just run him over and not worry. But with the mashable reversals/ultras and other nonsense a crappy player gets an undeserved level of respect, if not u get hit with a random ultra and nobody here cant say that that hasnt happened to them before.
@61: I hear you bro.
If it just had Supers, only the person getting with the advantage/skill would take it. But Capcom (imo) won't make another fighting game without a comeback mechanic (unless they do like a side project or something to draw in the hardcore crowd). It won't be in a game that's big and they spend lots of money advertising on, because they really want to line their pockets (not to say that the game itself is bad all around).
It's a pattern within the company really, they've done it with several series. Dino Crisis 3 was also destroyed because of vast changes in plot/atmosphere.
@67
"remember when the janitor at the EVO hotel decided to play and ended up winning the whole thing..."
LOL. What!?!?!?
I get your point man. I also agree that Ultra-combos were a welcomed addition to the SF4 series.
What I really liked about Ultra combos is how they changed the gameplay dynamics of how the pros played SF4.
When the opponent has a fully charged level-2 Ultra, the player will change his/her playstyle in order to watch out and not get hit by the Ultra since Ultras are usually heavy damage combos.
Ultra combos added a new element of gameplay to the SF4 series. Ultra combos made it so that players will be more careful towards the latter parts of matches so as to not get hit by the opponent's Ultra. Also, it encouraged players to learn how to save up their EX-Bars so that they can FADC and link to Ultras and such. It also entices players to save up EX-Bars as some of the EX-specials can be used to escape certain Ultras.
It was nice to see that players had to take more caution and no be so aggressive towards the endings of matchs. If it was not for ultras, then players would just do the same sh-t from the beginning to the end of a match without thinking of ways to adjust their gameplan in order to avoid getting hit by ultra.
But then again. There's always something new to cry about. Ultra-combos are latest item on crybabies' list of things to whine about. Crybabies' whine list:
"Yoon is OP, pleeeze nerf him."
"Fei Long is OP, pleeeze nerf him too."
"Kuma's bear fart is so childish and immature, pleeeze remove it."
"Blanka is so annoying to play against, pleeeze keep him out of SF x Tekken."
"Ultra combos are comeback mechanisms designed for noobs, pleeeze don't put them in SFxTekken."
@71: Yea man don't get me started on mashed Reversals & Ultras..Thats the one thing I absolutely hate about the game and I use a character with a good reversal too. I Know that if I mashed more in this game I'd win more but I just won't lol.
Its like an option select too, it won't come out in a true blockstring but as soon as the opponent goes for something else, bamn comes out..1 second to early it doesn't come out cause youre in blockstun :D ITS STOOPID MON.
Then again I wouldnt mind if Ultras were in this game seeing as you got chains, no screwing up 1 frame links in lag and eating 70% DMg cause some scrub mashed
There is probably one small bar for the Cross Assault and the old one is for everything else.
@77
i just hate how it slows down the game. Its like bing he got ultra, now the other guy will sit there until he gets a chance to land it and the other guy knowing there will now play somewhat lame. It just slows down the action to much. Maybe if the ultra would drain after time then it would encourage more aggressive gameplay.
1.The super meters look identical so it probably stands for separate meters leading to 2v2, 4-player gameplay.
2.Stop guessing characters it's quite pointless when you have this http://boards.ign.com/street_fighter/...
Before the tears come the list has been proving itself to be correct and I believe Lupinko is behind it(The man who leaked SSF4,MVC3,MK9.)
3.Don't want comeback mechanics go play third strike stop complaining.
Errm...am I missing something here? Where is the other character everyone is talking about? Unless there was another picture that's since been taken down? People talking about beads, and saying it's clearly Guile? I can't see a damn thing in that picture, what is everyone on about?
@ #71 & 81 (chickenwings)
EXACTLY how I feel about the system.
I agree with 73, comebacks make them change their mentality and approach it more different, they can change the match etc e.g. more interesting in both viewing and playing imo but i do think they could reduce the level of damage they deal so the losing one can fight for it more even if they hit it with their ultra.
The thing is random ultras dont really happen if you approach it well mentality 90% of the time, thats why the pros who are more consistent dont tend to get hit by them as they're not plowing in.
Basically, don't give them the chance and ultra's are nothing
@ #88
The problem is, by not giving them a chance to hit you with a raw ultra, you are giving them a chance:
You are no longer plowing through them, you are instead backing off and giving them room to breathe.
This causes a shift in momentum - which alone can spark a comeback.
@ #89
I assure you, I've thought this all along. All comeback mechanics are stupid IMO.
The loser should feel pressured and inevitably lose due to being outclassed, end of. They shouldn't be given a free ray of hope that can turn the entire match on its head.
They shouldn't even have the option - let alone the power it boasts.
And of course it's an image of Kuma's fart attack.
I shall Pray for this to be 2v2 online! Who want's to join my clan
Hmmmm? Probably 2 on 2 play or maybe for a new team up attack mechanic added to the game.
