He added these notes:
Ken's combo trials with one hand. The dragon punches are the most difficult part of every combo that includes them.
The first 3 trials are fairly standard but spacing is absolutely vital for completing the final 2. For no. 4 vs Elena, you should aim to be a few steps away when executing the EX-Tatsu. This will cause you to cross up and hit slightly meaty with final kick, allowing the super to combo. For the final combo vs Q, you should aim to start in the same position I do in the video. From there you simply have to activate the 2nd super on the earliest possible frame and the 2 x Shoryukens are not to tough to add on the end (if you're using both hands).
The final clip is parrying the intial 5 hits of Chun's super, blocking 2 hits, then re-parrying the 2nd set, starting with a red parry. The thing in my other hand is a drumstick.
Tip from Rafael2487.
Desk reminds me of Jet-li fighting with one hand while his other hand is in his pocket. :)
Execution does not equate to playing people, they are two skills that go well togeather but are not sufficiant alone. One might be good at reading players but if your execution sucks, you will not get far.
Perhaps he is good at execution naturally but is not good at playing or reading opponents. I like his videos and guides but he does things a lot of people can't do consistantly. I kind of wish his guides were more practical.
@#7 giantbass:
Desk must be a very strong player. People place to must emphasis on his tourney career.
"lol"
I use to like watching desks combo videos but now it just seems like he likes to show off. I mean if I tried, I bet I could parry with my ball sac but why? lol
@10 I agree, I praise him for his ability to discover combos and glitches that we've never seen before, but ever since he got so blown up in popularity, he's starting to suck it up an show off. D:
@10+13 I won't deny the showing off he is doing in more recent videos, but it still shows excellent execution. (Personally, I think he is making videos like these because there are no new glitches or combos he can find/do off the top of his head, so he's doing these to pass the time.) Either that or he's bored. XD
@15 As #5 posted earlier, he is known only for great execution, not at reading his opponent. You need both to succeed in fighting games. If he was good at both, he wouldn't be posting videos about combos and glitches, which he is known for.
@19 This stuff is interesting. If you don't care don't post :D.
only thing i dont like about desk is he sees a combo and take it like its his. sako did chun loops in match, then desk does it right after. sako did abel loop, then desk does it right after. we saw guile's tool-assisted 1 hit charge sonic booms, desk within the same week does a video and explanation, while passing off the idea he found this combo. i just dont like how he lets others do it first then acts like he found it. other than that, yeah he probably has the best execution
This guy surely have 3 jobs, 4 girlfriends, and only play five minutes per month.....ha ha. All these freaks say the same thing. He really don´t impresive me. It´s only repeat the same a thousand of times and record it when you got it. Good players prove it versus other players. By the way I think that daigo´s miracle in evo vs justin was a little different situation......
Don't get me wrong im not saying he should do these videos, I find it very entertaining. I mean thats what these videos are for. It's not something to take serious, I sure ain't. I'll be the first to adimit (but not the last) I can't do waht he does, and would'nt care for it.
I say let him do his thing, watch his video, give him thumbs up and move on. Trying to figure him out is pointless, he's gonna keep doing what he wants. Trying to get him to go to Evo so you can try to prove him wrong is petty. If anything he is definantly above average. That should be enough.
I know one thing, if he gets you in a combo in MvC3 you can kiss your a$$ good bye XD!!!!
@23 You're a hater :D. I can do lots of fancy combos when no one is fighting me. When someone is there inputs refuse to come out as well as they normally do.
I think he just does this stuff for fun. Remember, good execution does not mean good player!
man i think desk is kewl but im really getting to the point where im thinking have you really got nothing better to do with your time, why would you even learn that, you not got a job a family, i mean come on wasting your time learning to play one handed. props for the comb videos though there ok.
Fighting game community can be retarded sometimes. What's up with all the hates toward Desk? Lots of you haters just condemned people but in the end you can't even prove that you're able to pull the same thing that Desk did. The purpose of Desk do videos on one hand execution, glitch & combos is to show you that if you don't set a limitation on yourself, nothing is impossible to achieve.
Stay free haters.
@28
You know absolutely nothing about what his life is like so how can you judge him? Perhaps he has both of those things you mentioned, does that mean he still has literally zero free time?
Also, why are you judging him for what he chooses to do with his own free time? Does it magically affect your life, does it mean you have less free time? No, it affects nothing in your life, except the fact that you chose to waste your own free time typing that worthless comment.
And Desk doesn't enter tournaments because......?
Is this guy a game tester or something that hes not allowed to enter? Or he just knows it just wouldn't be fair....cause I'd sure get a kick seeing a guile bust some a$$ in a tournament doing this combo instead of the typical Guile stuff we always see..
Honestly....I wouldn't even try and attempt trying to try trying an attempt at trying a combo like that with Guile.
This guy just ho hum..finds glitches, infinites, and complicated combos. Let's not even talk about MVC3. Desk has broken that game every time Capcom's testers thinks they got it right. God only knows what crazy things Desk will find when Ultimate comes out...
Kudos to Desk.....HOWEVER, he's not going to get the true respect from EVERYBODY until he actually shows up to a tournament and show his "skills" in practical usage. It's no doubt he can do it....but when pressure, friends, money, media, and haters are in your face and waiting for you to succeed or fail...it's a different story. Daigo, Mago, Justin, Poongko and others have made a mark in these extream moments...Desk is in the comfort of his house with tool assist or training room and who knows how much takes or attempts he does in these vids before he uploads them.....only a tournament entry will shut up the haters and gain the curious but faithful respect of his many fans.
Im just saying...in a nutshell, I agree with #2
by the way the above "Guile" combo im talking about is:
http://youtu.be/LyfsAYcKAZo
I didn't even comment to the Ken trials cause thats not practical...its just a show off technique as far as im concerned.
3D animation at its best! These hands look so realistic that I had to take more than just one look to spot.
#33
you really think wasting that much meter will win you a match?
desk haz being to evo and many other tournies and lost at just about all of them...
just youtube the guys name "DESK"..
i don't see why you guyz wanna hate on the guy for these video's except jealousy , your only willing to accept his talent if it's for glitches or fancy combos which most of the time are not his "invention" (like james chen with justin wong) but stuff in forums and on japanese blogs...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKXwj7...
Welcome back from your conference all!
@ all the dumbass haters
Why the fuk are you guys yelling 'ENTER A TOURNY'
Is it really that hard to grasp the fact that maybe he likes doing this kind of training mode stuff in his spare time?
Maybe he doesn' really care that much about the competitive aspect of the game?
Or he doesn't care about being 'respected' among the FGC? (LOOOL)
Actually i'm sure he has a lot of fans seeing his contributions so far.
I really dont understand the hate, people seem to think Desk has some ulterior motive trying to show. All hes doing is trying to film something cool and show it. Honestly I think all the hate is people just getting pissed that they cant have the same level of execution. It doesnt matter that he does not enter tournaments thats not the point at all. Desk has never once said that he could kick someones ass or win a tournament, people are just putting words in his mouth and making these videos out to be more than they are. The guy is just trying to show you something cool, if your self esteem cant deal with it than tough.
watching guys do these one handed trials is kind've depressing lol
@43
Desk quit playing as a public service to us all, or else the community would be so salty after we'd each played him.
Seriously, he has some videos of him actually playing the people online and doing those same sort of combos on the unsuspecting fools. SSF4 Chun-li legs loop, MVC3 snapout bug, etc.
What I said up there may be true, after all.
F U DESK!!!
god... tried to do even the simple evo moment #37 combo, that simple crap, and failed, got bored left, go to do the parry version, am able to parry 3 hits, yay for me. this dude not only has done both with one hand, he "almost" did it while spinning a drumstick...
all fak hate aside.
i agree with all the "stop-hating" comments...
its beyond stupid.
The dude should do tourneys if he is so good, or i bet he sucks maybe he should enter so we could see him destroyed and be infinitly more satisfied by that....
no.
as it has been said, execution and PvP are way total diferent things. who cares if he can do a 100% combo in 10 hits? in a normal match its not pratical so screw it. who cares if a tourney player has a win loss ration of 20? he cant do 100% combos...
this happens in all games, go watch some tekken 6 cmv, and you will see great execution, if you understand how the game works, but those people playing dont messure up.
its normal, you cant be good at al, he does this for fun, i wish i could too. maybe more have passed as much or more time has him in the game, and did nothing of the sort.
one thing is for sure, i already respected Daigo, but after trying the trial for my self... that respect went off the charts.
i cant parry more then 3 hits, let alone do it, without knowing when its coming, having the final depending on that, make the come back, with all that pressure and noise.
also respect desk a lot more for doing it with one hand. sick dude
OK
