WTF! There's semen everywhere, going to download them right now.
Before the whiners come in. Yes, those are 2D backgrounds, they still offer some variety while looking ok, and they help people with old PCs/non gaming laptops run the game at decent FPS too.
I can run the game maxed out but I might get one of these backgrounds for the training stage. I'm just bored of the default white and stripes and every dude I fight online ends up picking it. I don't really use the floor lines for spacing anymore so whatever.
Sorry it's kinda off topic but
Can you mod char on steam for ssf4 ae?
If so can anyone give me the path to where the char directory is located?
Thanks
BTW: Awesome background,I would say better then the original ssf4ae backgrounds.
jimk23 - Yeah sure, anything to diss Capcom's job. LOL It could be a turd on a rainbow background that you and more people would say that anyways.
These are horrible. They can be even more bland than the first SFIV ones. And I thought that was impossible...
@FreeMarn, Keep_It_Flashy
Try
Steam\steamapps\common\super street fighter iv\resource\battle\chara
Steam\steamapps\common\super street fighter iv\resource\battle\stage
I don't have the Steam version (region locked so I had to buy it from Gamersgate) but it should be something like that.
Regardless if they are 2D or not these are well done and the characters look great in them. It is a bloody shame Capcom is neglecting the one thing the fans wants the most, EXTRA stages that are reminiscent of the games of old. instead, they are just bombarding us with extra costumes.
Wow! These stages looks pretty cool, somehow better than the stages Capcom made.
the majority of these stages are better then the ones we have now in SF4. could be due to the fact that theyre new? or just because theyre better. i especially love the one with Ryu and Oni in the forest temple. reminds me of Alpha Generations.
@ Chryo
Thanks man, I have been looking for this for so long.
Thanks again
idk i prefer that they are static tbh. 1 cause i like the training stage for that reason and 2 if your running on a low spec pc its gotta be better
This just gave me an idea.
Why has no one modded SFIV to have parries, get rid of Revenge meter to have a more traditional meter system, speed up the game, etc. Pretty much "fix" the game to those that hate SFIV.
For the red and blue flash, the yellow flash from EX's can used for the parry.
The focus attack or something similar can be used for the parry animation. One of Ryu's taunts is similar to his parry stance for example.
I like SFIV series, but it would be a cool thing to do, similar to how there's a mod for Smash Bros Brawl, to make it more like Melee.
*Correction*
For the red and blue flash, the yellow flash from EX's can be changed in color to blue and red and used for the parry.
PC is banging!!!!!!! How come my console version look like this??? FREAKING AWESOME MANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! }8O__________________
These stages are not better than Capcom's, they are just in 2d, so that people with low end computers can run the game more smoothly. They replace the stages background with a 2D pic to add diversity instead of being forced to use only the trainning stage background.
The increased FPS is around 30-40 FPS.
@40
They (the people) don't understand that. They see the pictures and say "Whoa, better than Capcom!", like retards.
Yes people, they look cool... But they're just STATIC IMAGES! like a screen saver! Certainly NOT better than what we already have!
A real stage dlc pack would be amazing! But I'm blown away by how quick ppl are to down Capcom on the hard work they put in!
I feel like I could post a BG image of a TURD and you mental cases would say "Whoa, better than Capcom!"
Pathetic.
Oh my, I made the news it seems^^.
Well, glad to see that my work brings joy to most people :). It really all started because I have a crappy PC and I didn't want to spend all my time playing the game with no background (just try it once, it's...dark and gloomy).
So yes, those are all stages made to be like the Training Stage, except they add new a new background image. The original stages, being in 3D, will look better, but that's not the point hey ?
Anyway, as I said, for those just wanting to change the Training Stage, just check the AE mod wiki often, I'm putting all of my stage online day by day (around 40 stages - 21 from the mod, all the rest being not seen yet).

And if you have any questions, just drop by the forums here or at Shoryuken :)
PS: I'll write a tutorial on how to build that kind of mod sometime soonish.
By the way, it might be a good idea to precise in the news the nature of the mod (2D stages, not 3D) and the aim it was built for (low-end PCs). It might avoid some bitchin'^^.
Also, 2 of the news' pictures are from stages not included in the mod, but recently made available as single Training Stages. Wouldn't want to deceive anyone with that...
Character specific stages have been the bigggest casualty in Street Fighters transition to 3D
On a different note... Anyone notice how the 'new' stages in UMVC3 are looking set to be some of the most bland in the history of fighting games?!
@doshu
Just to clarify, I'm not "Bitchin" about your mod. I think it's a pretty cool idea. And for what they are, they look great.
However, I am "Bitchin" about the low IQ tards that believe you've created NEW rendered BG's for SF4. Then they say that static "screen saver" images are BETTER than the Rendered 3D BG's that Capcom provided!

@Aluppoj
Sorry if I offended you with my choice of words, I wasn't aiming at nobody in particular.
As for the 2D vs 3D stuff, well, it all depends on personal taste I would like to say. I know some people who doesn't like a few of the original stages (like "Crumbling Lab") and who asked me to just change those stages. I've "met" also one or two other guy saying that they prefer those 2D renders to the 3D ones.
As for me, I would definitely go for the 3D ones if my PC was up to it. But I'm new to the game, and maybe some people who are not are just tired of seing the same stages everytime they play, so they end up wanting my mod rather than the 3D stages...
Finally, I would like to have half the skill needed to do 3D rendered stages, but I don't. So I'll do what I can do, 2D stages ;)
Stage mods? Wow that's crazy. I like it
