Destructoid was able to catch a few words with Seth Killian from Capcom about Street Fighter X Tekken.Pandora [mode] right now I would say is pretty weak-sauce. I would not activate it. We're still playing with it and trying to figure [it] out... This is not the final form.
We're going to try to make Pandora more interesting or just cut it, I'm not above cutting it even though we just announced it.

|I'm not above cutting it even though we just announced it.
Yeah as if Seth chooses whether or not it gets cut.
no need to cut it. innovation and new ideas are things the fighting genre needs nowadays. what if Alpha 3 and CVS2 never gave so many modes to choose from?
okay maybe a bad example depending on who's reading but still. encourage new options, even if they remain just options.
Really, is this a troll? They can't actually make it viable in a match?
Doesn't the whole story revolve around Pandora, and have they not already invested too much in it (and publicized it) to back out now?
Cutting it now would just be silly. I think this was just Seth putting in his two cents on Pandora, not saying they're actually considering cutting it.
cut it 100%
The story is going to be based on this ridiculous useless bull.
#7 Canon is never an issue in a versus title. It's just fan wank. Besides, leaving the All-Spark out of everyone's hands is for the better.
If Pandora were to actually work, the partner sacrifice should build onto the controlled character's health. Say your Gief has eaten a nasty bit of damage, and your Bob is relatively untouched. Sacrifice using Bob for the red of the round and stack the value of health on top of your berserk Gief. When the timer runs out, take away the "lol you lose" stipulation and just finish out the round normally.
#10 As I said before, storylines + fighting cross overs don't mix. It's all fan-wank. And it can easily be kicked to the curb for something better. Hell, the game can be nothing but a dream-match setup with no established storyline beyond "fight this end boss" ala King of Fighters and people would still play.
hmm, i guess on the right track. Now cut the gem system and we are back to the hype it should have stayed at.
but seriously, I guess they couldn't find a balance without making it too strong of a comeback mechanic. The risk outdid the reward, not only that, but the opponent could just activate it after you and just run. To be honest, the whole story around the Pandora itself was garbage to begin with.
We don't want this to be a glorified smash brothers.
@ #3
I kind of get annoyed how with how Seth talks sometimes. Easy there pilgrim, you're just the community manager! Don't get me wrong, Seth seems like a great guy, but sometimes I think he takes just a bit too much pride in his job. Too much pride is better than none at all I suppose.
On topic, I'd actually prefer that Pandora gets cut. It's a mechanic that will likely see so little use that there is next to no point having it.
What really needs to be cut are the freakin' exclusive characters. Cole and two cats? Seriously? No...SERIOUSLY? They have nothing to do with Street Fighter OR Tekken. This is titles Street Fighter X Tekken. Not Street Figher X Tekken w/guest appearances by characters not even vaguely related.
"Sacrifice using Bob for the red of the round and stack the value of health on top of your berserk Gief. When the timer runs out, take away the "lol you lose" stipulation and just finish out the round normally."
No, that's would be stupid, almost just like XF. when the timer runs out, you lose.
heres an idea, make pandora mode more interesting(as long as it doesnt get anywhere close to x factor) and cut the freakin gems. Im sure capcom knows the bulk of the fans dont care for them.
i thought pandora was a cool idea
it was like x-factor that takes skill to use
kind of like baroque
I give them props for trying to be innovative, but when it comes down to crossovers, then its all really about the dream fight, dream rivalry. If you want a storyline, make a comic book series, like they did w/ SvC (I say SvC cuz it was the only thing in mind next to siht...im gonna be late for work.)
Interesting. Just goes to show how dedicated they are to the Gem system. Gems are getting much more flack YET, they aren't even entertaining the idea. Pandora mode was met with "meh" and some flack, and they state that they aren't above cutting it.
2012 = Year of the Gems
Maybe to make it better, have the specials do half damage on chip instead of regular chip.
#18 Then extend the timer. Or just get rid of it altogether--it was stupid gimmick to begin with. I can't see the Street Fighter 4 engine having a XF gimmick--nothing would land against people who could simply turtle or capitalize off of a wild offense.
This is not looking good, I swear im not even trolling I really don't know what the dev team is doing now.
I was hyped for the Gems, then I seen the backlash, now Capcom is two minds about Pandora Mode, even over the controversial gem. I think Ono might have pulled a Capcom Fighting Jam here.
We'll have to wait and see.
Don't forget to cut the gems while you are at it.
Pandora can remain but should work different then.
The only good, certain use of the Pandora is when you activate it then immediately use a Super Art, time is too short.
Following this pattern they should make it a one shot Super Art that if connects you win, otherwise you lose.
Cut it along with thosr gems!
and thereby make the greatest crossover that has ever been made Capcom!
Your would earn way more many for future projects that way!
I personally won't buy SF x T any longer due to these redeculous features you put into a already fantastic fighting game!
Just listen to your fans for once! we are the ones who feeds you with money! and just listening to how much people prefer the E3 build of the game pretty much tells everything..
If they do cut it I hope they leave the pandora pallet swaps as alt costumes because they are undeniably badass
What about umvc3 Heroes and Herald? meh? or awesome?
They honestly don't know what they're doing with SFxT any more are they?
Welp, good thing Marvel's got my attention more anyways. As much as I've been sort of interested in SFxT, even Capcom doesn't know what to do with it now. Pandora had potential, them gems could of been used for some simple minded fun, and it had great engine potential. But it seems Capcom doesn't even know what to do with core gameplay now with Pandora. The gems? Yeah sure, its just an extra feature for sh*ts and giggles and wouldn't even be used competitively, but Pandora? Not many uses really came from it from what I could see. I'm not against cutting it, nor am I against keeping it. I just would rather see Capcom just step it up already with SFxT and get it together. Ultimate Marvel looks pretty decent so far. SFxT has had its ups and downs ever since gems and Pandora were put into play.
Just, damn Capcom. Just get it together guys.
Given that the only plot the game apparently has centers on Pandora, that's a bit surprising. I really don't mind the game having a ton of different options thrown in. While you can't combo into it, I was really hoping we'd see some good set-ups for it eventually (like jab DPing a jump-in, activate Pandora upon the end of your recovery frames, and link into a super that juggles).
It'd also be interesting to see if there are going to be gems that affect Pandora mode. Setting up a team based around Pandora could be pretty neat, if you had the right gem/character combination. I haven't played any builds yet, so I can't really say much, but I hope they don't cut it at this point, based on what I've seen. Unlike the majority of people (well, at least the vocal majority), I'm really digging all the features they're including in the game so far.
But but, SF x Tekken without Pandora mode would be like MK vs DC without Rage mode!
Street Fighter vs Tekken would have sold by itself. Why would you add Pandora mode and gems to that. Seth must have brought that Cali weed to Japan, because they are tripping real hard.
@29
I think that idea goes well with the gamble. Actually, make it to where Pandora is actually a super instead of an X-Factor failure. It should be a 0 frame up close high damage dealing super that should be used for punish' and a last resort because if it didn't land it would kill you. It could go into a cinematic and be really cool, should do more damage the less health you have.
no body asked for taking out pandora, i'm sure there is a way to make it work, (a few second longer or hard cheap dammage...) but even if it's weak it won't ruin the game, people won't use it except as a show off
it's the gem that need to be made optionnal
really capcom is making nonsense on this game, they're killing it
Why is everyone hating on Pandora Mode? It's not anywhere near as potent as all these other comeback systems. Hell, I wouldn't even call it a comeback system.
I see it as a very situational maneuver. It probably would only be used very rarely, as it's active time makes it almost suicide to use. Honestly, I could see it being a very hype system, punishing a fireball or something with it, and managing to take out a character just before your character dies.
I say keep Pandora. It's nowhere near as bad as X-Factor. Get rid of the gems. I like the idea of customization, but they're definitely not approaching it in the right manner.
I wish people would stop harping about how dumb the gems are. We've seen what exactly 6-10 of the 'hundreds' of gems can do. Personally, I hate Capcom's content release schedule about giving information about gems way more than I hate the idea of gems. If we actually knew what the gems would do and how exactly we will earn them, then we'd know what we're dealing with. As it is, an angry mob is just assuming the worst and running with it, and Capcom isn't giving the people who aren't running around crying murder anything to run with.
Protip: Tournaments can just use default gems as the standard, where any gems that aren't unlocked automatically aren't allowed. Bam, that problem is solved.
More on topic, I really hope they don't cut Pandora. It legitimately looked pretty cool.
I'd want the gems go but wouldn't mind keeping Pandora though, it isn't that great for a comeback option (which is good in my opinion), but it does open up a few possibilities. There will be situations when you want to punish your opponent as hard as possible on a whiffed attack or when your opponent is on a frame disadvantage and you can switch on pandora and make them pay. The system doesn't have to be complicated and gamebreakingly effective to make it interesting.
Pandora should stay. A lot of you complain about it saying it's just some other x-factor bullsh*t but all fighting games, nowadays, have a comeback feature and that's EXACTLY what Pandora is and it even has one hell of a risk. X-factor is a comeback engine in (U)MvC3, ultras are a comeback engine in SSF4: AE, and rage is a comeback engine in Tekken 6. They ALL have one.
As for the gems, you're judging something that you have little information on and have yet to experience yourself. I honestly doubt it's going to be as bad or as broken as most of you think it will be. You hear one little thing about some power up and you lose your heads over it. It is not YOUR game. If you want to make the most badass balanced fighting game ever, then start your own company and do what YOU want with it. You are not a member of Capcom so stop telling them how to make the game.
Cut Pandora Mode. Put in Megaman. The meteor falling from the sky is Megaman.
Done.
I say good riddance, I'd rather have the game look like it was when it was first announced. We never asked for any of this extra crap! Just put Kazuya and Nina up against Ryu and Ken... There is that so hard? Just remember Capcom, sometimes it's better to KEEP IT SIMPLE!
I mean, listen I'm all for added features to make games more interesting, like Heroes and Heralds! That looks like a blast! But this crap? This crap with the gems and "Pandora" is pushing it. I think Scramble mode looks fun and the Online training seems like a great idea, but Capcom seriously needs to take a breath and stop and say "Is this enough?" "Are our fans gonna be satisfied with this product?" Well? I've heard positive reception from the early build and no one was really complaining about anything until Pandora and gem modes... Think Capcom think.
Sorry this is so long but I just feel like Capcom's not functioning properly, and I really have a passionate love toward this company, and when I see them make stupid mistakes, it saddens me. I hope to work for these guys in my years to come too, so seeing this is just depressing. Get it together Capcom!
This is yet another sign that they don't know wtf they're doing with SFxT
@53
yep. This game needs to seriously stay in dev for longer, like holiday 12 or even early 13.
@47
This
As for everyone else whining/bitching/moaning; just stop ok?
And if Capcom wants to put in a comeback mechanic in they can easily tweak and or alter Pandora mode to make it more like a comeback and less like a "high stakes gamble" as they said it was!
You guys will still buy it with or without Pandora/Gems like a good Capcom sheep does lol.
I'd make it useful as it looks useless right now. Maybe they shouldn't make announcements on features that aren't fine tuned or finalized next time.
STOP BITCHING. You guys have not played the game(or played the game enough) to know whether or not Gems and Pandora mode are good ideas. Whiney little idiots. Leave the gems. Leave Pandora. Leave everything the way it is. Once we start playing and find out that it doesn't fit then that's when we voice our opinion. Not now when we haven't played the game enough. Jeez.
On a side note maybe they're putting all these features in because they think the world is going to end in 2012. lol. That would be funny.
Cut it because it looks so incredibly ******* stupid.
Like seriously. They turn pink, have black skin, and random little lines drawn all on their skin. It's seriously some **** a 13 year old would think looks cool, and it looks like a similar amount of effort was put into the designs...
There's already way too much **** going on with this game. Cut it and refine the better features.
And get rid of those gotdamn DLC and exclusive gem packs or ban that **** from tournaments.
Street Fighter X Tekken: War of the Gems
Also, just because games have comeback mechanics, doesn't mean they aren't dumb as hell. All of them have been stupid in that they hinder people for playing well and reward people for losing.
i dont get why nobody likes pandora mode, and just cuz u dont like it doesnt mean it should be cut from the game. it should be left in for the people who actually want it and want to experiment with it to find unique ways of using it,
and for the people who dont want it u dont have to use it cuz nobody is forcing u to. im really looking forward to the gems and the pandora features, i think both of these things together will be pretty powerful.
Pandora - max x gauge, infinite x gauge, new single character combos, deal more damage, (pandora super cancel), 7 seconds to live.
Gems - power, defense, x gauge, speed, assist, tech grab, auto block, ect.
i honestly think these two features together will be some powerful tools, especially for the pro's once they figure out how to use them to the best of there abilities.
the only thing as of right now that needs to be fixed with the pandora mode is if u finsih someone off with a super that has a long animation like chun li lightning legs u should win the match but for some reason if ur not finished ur super animation before pandora runs out even if u take all of ur opponents life they still win. this is what i mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aen4A0...
I'm not complaining about either game mechanic since I know that with every single other kind of strategy game that has this kind of thing in it, there are always a few dominating strategies for each edition. The same thing will happen with the gems. It sounds amazing right now, but eventually people will discover three or four combinations that are so good that there will be very little point to deviate from them. What I am potentially upset about is the fact that I might have to pay for DLC to get gems and the fact that Capcom has not refuted that yet.
I just think that if they get rid of the Gem system before anyone tries it no one is gonna know if it was a good idea or not and you don't want that to happen, trust me. Many of the complaints is all speculation and unrelated comparisons and the system hasn't even been tested by actual players. As Seth.K has said; the lack of information available on Gems has created unecessary controversy, they should have waited until they had the system playable and tested throughly, now we got to wade through all this bitchin for the next couple of weeks.
@71
i kind of agree with you but kind of dont. there will be alot of people who will look up what gems would most likely be best for a certain character/team but i think only noobs who watch alot of high tier players on youtube will do this. i think high tier players and most intermediate player will pick gems according to there play style.
and i guess i can understand why most people dont like the gems, cuz most people prolly are thinking they are gonna have to grind for them more then there actually gonna get to play the game. also the dlc gems that comes in the special edition and the extra gems that come from pre-ordering the game will already be in the game, they are just giving u the codes so it unlocks it from the start without having to grind for them. and seth killian announced yesterday that even tho u cant turn off the gem feature u dont have to pick gems if u dont want to, so while ur playing online just talk to ur opponent and ask them to play without gems and u will do the same. there wont be any guarantee that ur opponent will go along with this but its worth a shot. and if they do people are just gonna harass them anyway and call them scrubs and noobs for using the gems.
@73
That's the idea, but it almost NEVER happens in practice. Look at all the MvC3 teams in tournies. Look at all the variants of the best 3 or 4 Magic decks in tournies for that edition. Look at the character usage for SF4 in tournies. Look at Warhammer 40k and how transports are amazing in this edition. It almost always has a pattern and it's not because people aren't creative, but more because things are so good that it is a lot harder to win by not using them. When money is on the line that's a lot to give up for being original. Another thing to consider is that even though you may have a certain playstyle for your character, your character has a very specific way of playing defined by their moveset. For example, no amount of gems I throw on Dudley will ever make him a footsie character instead of a rushdown character. That's because he's designed that way. The only way that changes if there are gems that give him different normals.
Capcom just needs to focus on the problems of Pandora Mode and Gems, no need to take anything out, they already invested so much time into it although I get the feeling they were following MvC3 and are changing their minds about the systems everyday cause they bite off more than they can chew.
For Pandora Mode they just have to take out the instant death and maybe let it kill you slowly, if you had a full life bar it takes 20seconds to drain your life after activation.
For Gems they just need to make it simple and straight forward like there will only be 6-7 gems each a different color and different ability, they give +1,+3,+5 on speed, strength, defense etc, make guidelines to get gems also like after dropping six hits you get the strength gem, after keeping a life lead for 5 secs you get the defense gem etc.
I don't think it should ne cut it just needs to counter act the gems and last longer. Like someone said if a super is activated the timer for Pandora should stop if it connects.
Capcom don't cut this, make Pandora negate all gem bonuses while activated. Give it 20 seconds that's sufficient time to take ur opponent down Ive seen many a fight over in 20 seconds never less than 14 seconds. With the gem bonuses being negated it becomes more viable to connect hits in Pandora mode.
(But it looks cool, Seth, you didn't cut Gen from SSFIV even tho he's weaksauce. Cmon, man!)
Wait doesnt pandora has something to do with the story ?
after the example MK set on how to go about story for a fighting game, it means about as much as tits on a stick.
[looking at your mvc3; frank tieri has to feel awkward about that "story" he wrote)
seriously i know how much goes into the balancing and character models... but it is hubris to ask for some semblance of a story mode. i hope this isn't what inafune means by the problems of japanese game developers.
I actually love the Tron graphics, but if it comes down to cutting a comeback mechanic...I think we'll be better off. We don't need an in-game mechanic to reflect the story (lol, story in a fighting game). Just use the graphics on the CPU characters in Story/Arcade mode (rival sub-bosses, anyone?) and maybe unlockable/DLC skins, we'll be good to go.
Pandora is not the problem. It's the gems. Why cut the Pandora mode when it's the part of the storyline?
I think they should just make it so it drains your health, without fully depleting it? Sort of like Dark Phoenix. So they at least have to get a hit in or chip damage at the very least to finish you off. They could also add the ability to DEACTIVATE it once it's active. Sure, it wouldn't bring your tag partner back, but at least then you could use it for 1 particular situation per round (see Dawgtanian's example), then deactivate it straight after it's served its purpose so only a small amount of your health drains. Otherwise you're just left flapping around like a fish out of water with a rapidly draining health bar.
@84 Until they actually reveal how Pandora Mode interacts with Gems, the two are separate issues.
@86 See, this is the same same problem Capcom has, trying to twist it around and shoe-horn it in so that a *comeback mechanic* fits and is viable.
Cutting it is elegant and healthier for the game.
In my opinion Id love for them to cut it.
I was really into this game when it was first announced, it had a simplicity I loved. Then they just started adding and adding stuff.
A simple game doesnt make a bad game. I was hoping for the old "Easy to learn, very hard to master". Thats how all the good street fighter games have been. Im personally glad if we cut all these extras and get back down to a simple but solid game.
First you guys all said: "Please no comeback mechanic for SFxT" and now you all cry: "Please don't cut Pandora Mode"? You all know Pandora IS a comeback mechanic, right?!
And don't tell me it's not a very viable option...you haven't played the game yet and we don't know about all the potential options!
I must be gettin' old...I miss the days of ST, A2-3, 3S, CVS2, XCTOA - MVC1, DS - basically the early to late 90's. I don't know what's going on with Capcom and their fighting games now. It took me a while to accept SFIV, but I finally did. I got a feeling it's gonna be twice as hard to swallow this SFxT pill.
Leave Pandora (just make time limit 10 seconds longer) and cut the gems! I think Pandora adds unique flavor to the game and the gems just add confusion and not equal chances in battle.. how about another super art for each character so there wud be more supers to choose from and so they won't have to release a super or ultimate sfxt 6 months after this game hits stores. capcom needs to make up their mind already with the battle system and more characters already!
@77 20 seconds is way to long, someone who is really good at rushing down or someone with a super strong character like zangief could put on 3 speed gems and 2 strength gems and activate pandora (which gives u infinite meter and more strength) as early on in the round as possible and rape someone quick. i think 7 seconds is perfect, it forces people to use it as that last resort wildcard at the end of the round, if it has to much time people will use it way to often cuz the reward out wieghts the risk by far making it a comeback mechanic which its not suppose to be. people may disagree with me but pandora mode for the most part is fine as is, the only problem that needs to be fixed is that if u kill someone but ur characters animation is still going like chun li super u still lose the moment ur animation is done. as long as ur opponents health reaches 0% by the end of the animation u should win the round no matter how long ur moves animation is even if u have no more time on ur pandora meter. but i dont think if u use ur super the pandora meter or game timer should stop because then people are gonna keep spamming supers.
pandora mode should be a tool that u have to think about using in the right situation not something u activate the moment u get it to get the win real quick.
also 1 thing that would be really cool but would make pandora mode really broken would be to do like a 40% to 60% tag combo into pandora mode then finish the combo while in pandora mode. i say it would be broken cuz if someone was about to get a perfect on u and u happen to do something like this before u die it could potentially be a 100% damage combo.
Oh but but but Capcom, you geniuses have the GEM MODE!!! Remember!??!?!? Just make some wildly "imaginative" gems that are boost all of the different aspects of Pandora Mode so that there are little to no weaknesses left in the all in do or die mechanic they represent! There you go, problem solved and all you had to do was create 5 little sparkely shinies to do it. OH!! I know we'll sell it as DLC DAY ONE! Ahhhh I can see it now, we'll call it the Pandora Pack! Catchy aint it, you guys should hire me and fire that fraud of a dev called Ono. :P
@63 Mit
Finally, someone I can agree with 100000%! It's almost like I wrote that comment!
"Like seriously. They turn pink, have black skin, and random little lines drawn all on their skin. It's seriously some **** a 13 year old would think looks cool, and it looks like a similar amount of effort was put into the designs..."
lol you're spot on with your comment!
They need to Keep Gems and Pandora because that's what separates it from SF4 and Marvel.
@89: First of all, much like there's a division between people who want gems, and those who don't - there's a division between those who want pandora, and those who don't. For all you know, the people who are pleading for it NOT to be cut, are probably the one's who supported it since it's announcement. I thought SFxT was just fine without pandoric gems. That said, I could care less if this mechanic is removed.
I don't see why Capcom just can't make a stand-alone, fighting game. Why are they throwing in all this wacky s**t? To attract the casual Halo/COD player? Riiiiiight...They'll scrap the blasted game as soon as they beat it on arcade mode. It's a fighting game for a reason! It's for people who enjoy FIGHTING games. The true fighting game fan wouldn't need all this extra crap fitting for a RPG in order to enjoy their fighting games.
Can't stand sell-outs. I'm just old fashioned I guess...
Best news I have read in a while Capcom. Now you are thinking logically.
@ 97: The fact that the game is...
-2 on 2
-4 players
-includes Tekken characters
-has a magic series
-new SF characters
should be enough to seperate it from SFIV and MVC3
@101 lol you just want it to play exactly like SF4.
@100 4 player mode is the only one on your list that I agree with. Characters don't count because that's like saying SSF4 is completely different to AE.
Thats a shame i agree that pandora was bad at first but i grew to like it and it could have been tweaked to work, especially considering its part of the storyline! i like all the new features but the gems side should really just be a separate mode... i havent played it but i dont think they are going to help the gameplay at all!
I really like how a lot of people insist that "nobody wants X" when it's obvious tons of people do. Whether that be gems or Pandora. Some people may want X but then not like the implementation which is completely different than no wanting the system as it stands.
Some of you really need to stop insisting that your viewpoint is the majority.
OH MY GOD EVERYONE SAYS IT IS WORTHLESS AND THEY SHOULD STRENGHTEN IT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE BROKEN, THEY SAY THEY MIGHT REMOVE IT BECAUSE YOU GUYS ALL CRIED SO MUCH, YOU JUST START CRYING AGAIN. STOP CRYING, YOU GIANT MAN BABIES.
If Capcom paid attention on the minority of crying individuals on here, they definitely wouldn't know what they are doing.
Nothing wrong with a bit of trial and error. "People fear what they dont understand." - never a truer word spoken Mr. xShonuffx
@ 103: Does SFIV have Tekken characters?
All I'm saying is that I'm sure most are satisfied with a single life bar for each character, and a super gauge - that's it!
i was so hype for the game, i wasn´t expected pandora´s mode before pandora i was 100% hype, the inclusion of pandora wasn´t enough to cut my hype, but when they anounce the gem and realize that pandora was already enough. my hype has gone the game goes for diferent direction now, they simply dont know WTF are they doing... reveals of paul, law, xiaoyu, asuka, claw, boxer and juri are next and finally we gona get guy, cody, akuma, blanka, m.bison, jin, jack, eddy and bryan... is that enough??? the pandora inclusion/cut and the gem bullcrap gona kill the game and a good roster??
@ #15
Whoa, there. Now you're venturing into early-KOF territory. And NO fighting game crossover needs to have a Lazy storyline like that.
As for Pandora, keep it.
"Wah wah wah! Pandora! Wah wah wah! Gems!"
Shut up, crybabies. This games has 2 on 2 tag modes where 4 different players can be involved. Don't you guys understand how cool it is to FINALLY have that in a Capcom game? Didn't you ever play DoA Ultimate or MK9 or just manually tag to friends in MvC? That ALONE makes this game awesome. If some minor gem feature is enough to overshadow that for you and make you threaten to not buy it (as if anyone cared), then you obviously have no friends.
I've yet to see anyone win with Pandora in the gameplay vids shown. It really does seem like an ultimate last effort.
I'd be happier if they cut gems from the game. That really put my hype on stop.
@ #117
If you want to play a party game with friends, go play Smash Bros.
how about everyone stop whinning and crying. for the people who complain about "oh boohoo they ruined mvc3 boohoo" i bet u play the game faithfully til this day. same for the people who complain about ssf4 ae ya cryed for months we want yun and yang in the game they put them in the game then ya start whinning there broken god tier characters, balance them out. make up ur mind.
everyone who doesnt like the way the street fighter x tekken is turning out and are threatning not to buy it, why are u still here looking up info on the game if ur claiming everytime they release new info the game gets worse and worse. if the game seems to be getting worse for u why are u still looking into it, move on to the next game and stop researching this one cuz it seems no matter what capcom does with this title its not gonna please u. for example they announced they are thinking of removing pandora mode but thats not enough for most of u ya still wanna complain remove gems aswell. whats next when they remove gems, u gonna ask them to remove the tekken characters aswell, stop whinning so much. wait intil the final build of the game is out then judge it and state ur opinions intil then the haters need to keep there mouths shut
CAPCOM, IF YOU'RE LISTENING:
Please, change the look of the characters on Pandora mode. Just give them an aura of energy, a "more bad-ass look" like the changes from normal to angry or evil x character. The gems already over a lot, but the Pandora just seems to be too much of a gamble: when it works, it annoys the loser because it's so powerful: one combo can kill, and Zangief's SPD can take up to 60%, how many matches will there be where people have more than 50% of life to spare when they are about to KO someone? And when it fails, it's pathetic but ok.
It's always the same thing. People will bitch about Pandora and Gems before SFxT released. Afterward, everything will go back to normal as usual.
Gouken is totally going to be S-tier! We probably shouldn't even allow him in tournaments, that's how OP he's going to be. I don't need to play the game to know that he's srsly OP.
Ohwait, this isn't SFIV.
This happens with every single title that they release. The community gets their collective panties in a bunch over some feature or character that they've had ~0 time with and make tons of assumptions for the worst, then the game comes out and 9 times out of 10 they were even flat-out wrong or at least extremely over-exaggerating.
IMO Right now Pandora is a Netsu-style come-back mechanic and it shouldn't be. It should be the opposite. Pandora should be something you activate when you're in the lead which mitigates the risk for being aggressive to finish off your op...ponent. The more life you have, the more time you have, but if you're unable to finish off your opponent in the given time you're stuck playing solo.
In this Pandora should be a humiliating defeat, used when you do not fear you opponent and are willing to sacrifice your partner to avoid being "randomed out".
@130 The same people also whined about the focus attack way before Capcom released SF4/SSF4 and now look what happened. They fell in love with the mechanic.
I get it now. This is the greatest marketing scheme ever. They create this game, get everyone excited, then after everyone is attached to the game, they add two features that piss a lot of people off. Then they take out the features after many fan complaints. After this big emotional roller coster, the fans feel like they have saved their wonderful game and are really excited to spend their money on the game that was saved by the community.
This was all a brilliant plan from the beginning....
The most vocal people rarely represent the majority.
@130 I agree with you 100%. I don't understand why more people don't see this and have slightly more faith in a company that's given so many great products thus far. I'm not saying blind brand loyalty is necessary, but giving them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing is deserved by this point, for me at least.
No timer and full health sacrifice would be too much, IMO. If things were that way, it's not too far to imagine SFxTK would end up being mostly about picking those fast, low-health characters with good options and then feeding them a tank.
Can you imagine fighting a Sim with 2000 health? Coz that's what he'd have if he ate a Gief. How about a 2000 health Akuma?
Just cut Pandora mode, tired of these games with a comeback mechanic. Now just take out auto-block and auto-tech gems, we don't need gems for people too lazy to practice at a game. I wanna beat someone because I'm better than them not because I've got better gems.
@Relikk
i know what whining is, incase u dont know its to complain like a child which is what everyone is doing on this website, whining that they need to remove gems and pandora, or they need to make pandora broken cuz its better to be broken then useless. also u must be a true virgin to be going around playing spell check with the posts. and im not a child, im a grown man.
good... one less thing in this game would be a plus for me
