People keep assuming the burrowing is for teleports, but what if he does it to take cover or make some sort of bunker? I mean this guy is supposed to be pretty unique? A teleport isn't that unique so maybe there's more to it?

Psylocke hasn't been 'a-list' since the 90s and even that's a stretch.
Marvel has an infamous problem with female characters in that they don't really have many interesting or engaging ones. The list you posted is proof of that.
However those that actually do have some personality to them, like Hellcat, aren't really suited for a fighting game.
Vergil and Dante aren't clones though, that isn't even something you can debate :U, Taskmaster and Hawkeye share like 1 normal and 1 special move. I mean as far as including a diverse cast I get what you mean, but like all the characters you listed have unique movesets except Ryu and Akuma
#60 Marvel decides what Marvel characters get in the game. They basically gave Capcom a list of characters they wanted in. Most of them were characters that hadn't been represented in games, and Capcom chose the ones that would most fit in a fighting game. To be honest, Capcom wants EVERY Marvel character from MvC2 in the game, but if Marvel doesn't want them in, there's nothing you can do.

You do realize that Marvel has a lot of say on what Marvel Characers make it into MvC3 series right? You say Black Widow is relevant because she "may" have her own movie coming out and is in a couple already, yet MvC3 has been a staple for Marvel premier movies thus far.

These are to name a few. If the Marvel women were that important they would have made it. Capcom has said time and time again they've exausted many character suggestions and Marvel would counter argue a different character. Thus concludes my argument that Marvel does'nt feel your "XYZ" characters are relevant. If you feel different, take it to Marvel.
Everyone has characters they want that did'nt make it so all your doing is preaching to the choir. Megaman is probably the most relevant character you can think of but apparently Capcom does'nt think so. Just the way it is. Deal with it.

I don't like that there are not any new female marvel characters in umvc3 as much as the next guy but, I wish people would stop pointing the finger at Capcom for that issue. Everyone should understand how exceptionally huge Marvel has become now compared to what they were in the 90's. i agree that some of the characters could /should be there , but guess what ? so could have many AS MAJOR male/non genders/humans ones that arent there . Some choice even if less popular are still better for what is ultimately a fighting game and its variety .
I'm sorry but i'm much more looking forward to see someone like Nova and rocket raccoon fight (like it or not , two current cornerstone of the current Galactic Marvel uiverse maps) than plain martial and weapons fighters such as Elektra or Black Widow .
If i'm getting at least one straight martial fighter from the MU , it should also better one of the master : Iron Fist .
I'm also not sure how you'd do someone like Emma frost right . And scarlet witch seems even more nightmarish to balance than phoenix and strange .

Lets be honest. Men read more comics than females do. They also play fighting games such as mvc3 more than women. Wouldn't it make sense for there to be more men? PsyKnife needs to get banged one good time. Then PsyKnife might learn to respect men a little more.
All of those characters have a more interesting move set. Trust me I want more women too but not if they are going to be as bland as they are in comics. Tired of looking at half naked women with a ineffective move-set.

Iron fist is one of the absolute two martial artist king of the MU with shang chi . And a classic marvel character from the 70s that still manage to be popular to this day , despite his "lack of powers" and his horrible costume . I'd rather have him represent the straight martial artists and fighters of the MU , than say elektra , daredevil or Black widow .
Hell i can see Capcom issues with the widow ... she looks plainly boring from a fighting game angle , and she got concurrent in the same vein , that seems more attractive for a game . If not it would be easy to include her as a Avengers and iron man movies heroin .
As for scarlet and Emmma , i said i can see why they'd be overlooked since providing headaches , not that it's impossible .

#109 I personally think mvc2 Psylocke plays too similar to Strider, Capcom are going for majorly different playstyles in UMVC3. XMvsSF Rogue with some new moves (for instance a lv3 that uses the enemy's lv3 against them [if they don't you can't use the move]) would be a great choice in my opinion as there are no power stealing characters in the game but there are plenty of rushdown characters available. If they redid most of Psylocke's moves it would be interesting but as it stands what can she do that Strider or Magneto can't best ?

Marvel's side needs MORE women... Psylocke should have been in the game, she is famous, a ninja girl with terrific powers,abilities and arsenal and she could form a cool X-Force team. Psylocke is probably the total representive of martial arts (from females). They added X-23, She Hulk who are clones to the males and so do not offer a variety in the game, so MArvel has 2 females and 2 clones females. Also, Taskmaster actually "clones" Hawkeye, Spiderman and Captain America and their problem was the fantastic 4?????? They said Superskrull represents their powers so what the hell is going on with Marvel guys??
And now they add 12 new MALE characters???? I am ok with Capcom 'cause has plenty of females but Marvel???
