Ferdi's Seth doing too much pre-recorded stuff. How many of his dash-dash-SPD's whiff due to neutral jumps? He didnt react to stuff like Poongko, just put his pre-recorded game on. His corner pressure game wasn't on par either. Not impressed.

To be honest they're not talking crap about his tournament achievements, it's more his behaviour online that they question/judge.
You mustn't forget that this FGC is not that enormous, and that the people you meet anonymously online are the same people (for the most part) you will run into at tourneys. The point is, the impression you leave online will automatically influence what people think about you in real life.
I think most of us can handle trash talk, but when you call people the N-word or say that you going to rape their (baby-) sister, to me, you're crossing serious lines.
I am also from the Netherlands and I am happy that a guy from the Netherlands placed 3rd, it's a shame that his reputation is extremely tainted by his online behaviour.
In the end, it doesn't matter if any of us have ever met Ferdi, it's his own actions that color our impressions of him. The fact that he makes racist remarks just doesn't fly, you can't just condone that by saying he apologized to you when it wasn't you he insulted in the first place.
So, I can agree he has decent skill, but then again, that just makes him a skilled @$$hole. Just my opinion.

You just showed that you have no idea who V-Ryu is. He came up with almost all Option Selects there are for Makoto.
He took a match in a best of 3 against Daigo in SUPER not in AE, in SUPER. Daigo called him the best Makoto he's ever seen. Now probably he isn't _the best_ Makoto anymore due to that one Japanese Makoto, forgot the name. But still, his Makoto is insane... and if you don't know the Match Up and you get knocked down, jeesus, he will option select your ass to death.
V-Ryu is scary as f!@k and he _LOVES_ to play the character. He's a man with real love for the game and passion for the community. He ain't no fu!@ing coward you fag.

When that Viewtiful Joe character called Mike Ross the N-word, people were (justifiably so) upset, but now we should accept it from Ferdi since he placed nr3 in an obscure tournament? (Obscure is relative to SBO and EVO and the likes).
And we complain that our scene isn't taken as serious sa the WoW- or SCII-scene. The FGC should grow the phukk up, I'm just sayin'.
I think this tread proves that the 'FGC' is also filled with ego's. While some ppl see sf as just a fun game, others take it very seriously. And they cannot stand losing. Or they cannot stand getting insulted. I think everyone can agree that this is bad/silly/etc behaviour. And i agree that it should not be accepted.
However, everyone made mistakes, and if someone appologises and knows that he or she is wrong. I also feel that there is a time to move on, and let the past be the past.
Ontopic, while Ferdi may not be world class, he is without a doubt one of the better player in europe. And maybe if he had lived in the USA (60% of ALL sf ppl, really? wow) maybe he would have practiced against even better opponents and could have been that little bit better to reach even world class. We will never know.

It may not have been the biggest or best tourney compared to other events out there, but to me it was like a Evo in my own country and i loved every second of it (apart from having my scrubby Sagat being torn apart in the poule fases :P )
