Haitani, Shiro and Chiba all have better Makoto for sure after seeing this...

Vryu is great at Theory fighting and all, but hasn't proved anything at the tournament level yet...

Hope we can see more of him in North America tournaments in the future...

Day 1, Poongko had the most trouble with Vryu Sensei's Makoto, second match they played wasn't recorded but Vryu won 5 matches, Poongko 6/7

Yeah was unsure but it was kinda funny because vryu sensei won 3 games in a row and wanted to leave but poongko didnt let him witch was funny because poongko really wanted to prove he was the better man and won a couple after that, but poongko really had a hardtime playing vryu, tough makoto

lol vryu wasn't getting outplayed, it's the options seth has available that make it one of makoto's worst matchups, I do think that the japanese have amazing makotos but vryu is right there with them.

I wouldn't think anything of it. Poongko makes the BEST players look like scrubs when he's on his game, and especially when they meet him for the first couple of times.

What's to say he couldn't do the same thing to Haitani and the others?

we are going down. because our top players just thinking pp or bp. they re affraid to play a good player so we never proggress. americans really good progress themselves againts world top player especially japaneese player.they re play well but we re nothing to change this condition.

A really bad Vega. No combo abilities, cannot even connect basic links. What a shame.

@4: As the commentors above said it was an even match pretty much also I can see Makoto being free on wakeup against Seths options, Makoto can really only ex-kara if Im correct, her backdash is great but Im guessing Tandem will catch.

Also is the tournament still going? Ill watch the archives if not, sucks I didnt go to the tourny, oh well next time better.

^ Altho I dont even know, haven't played Makoto in forever lol. Anybody that does good dmg/stun Id say has a great shot against Seth, I can't imagine if Makoto caught Seth jumping..there goes 70% DMG and close to stun

More Euros looking free as usual in tourney play. Sadly, I believe Alioune is the only one who is as impressive offline as he is in replays or online videos.

Every single time a Euro player comes to the USA, they get bodied for free in tourneys.

European scene a joke? It's miles ahead of the american scene, everbody knows that, and a few of the best street fighters in the world have acknowledged that. (tokido, mago)

Why don't you leave all of your highly scientific debates over whether America is better than Europe until Canada Cup?

Team tournament, get to see some high profile match-ups. If Europe get bodied for free by America in a legitimate fashion, then by all means claim to be better. Until then, just take these videos for what they are.

Red Fight District with Louffy, Poongko, Ryan Hart, VRyu and other top players is being streamed right now. I've sent the link to Eventhubs, don't know why they don't show it here on the frontpage. Europe will never get big if a site like Eventhubs ignores the stream.

When I think of European scene, I think back to when Justin destroyed half of the "strong" players in Marvel 2 with Roll Tier vs. MSP/Scrub/Etc, LOL.

Justin/Marn ran through all of those Europeans last year in that $20,000 tourney. Stay free.

I can't believe people are hating on VRyu for losing to Poongko. Poongko is an amazing player using perhaps on the best chars in the game. Seth is a character with the most tools of any character in this game and his one weakness is the low life/stun, which even isn't that bad like it used to be. When you are as good as Poongko and play Seth to potential, anyone can look absolutely free.

first of all, the commentating was really bad, no offense. although +1 kudos for the right commentator he did a good job entertaining the stream :).

and last, lol the tournament was free for Poongko. I wonder how much the 1# price was. Hopefully he can get some pound of weed coz its legal over there :)

I am european and i think that the us scene is better(the average player level is better ;there is more tournaments,good stream,great event like evo).But the best european player can deal with the best American player.@ SSF4. Top player like Alioune ,vryu doesnt always go in tournament like justin or wolkrone does.But they are definitely on the same level.

Call me when a us player will get a yang like alioune , and i will change my mind,but floe yang near aliounes yang is a joke.

And personnaly canada cup is a joke if ryan hart is in the team.i know 5french ,2spanish,2UK players better than him.He is a good player in europe but Top 5 no way.

lol?? Exposed?? Are you serious? You probably didn't even watch the tournament.
Ferdi vs VRyu was very close, and losing against Poongko is NOT being exposed. 95% of all the top players getting raped by Poongko. Ferdi did good, he showed everyone he got skill by beating some top players.
