Didn't know that a fighting game scene (at least for SF4) existed in the Philippines until now... Last time I've been there people were busy with their FPS and RTS games.

Great to see the SF scene alive and well in the Philippines. Last time I was at an arcade there it was all about Tekken, but I do recall there were a lot of OGs who used to play back during the ST days.

I always thought Rafael2487 was a User made by Catalyst, made before the time they gave out money to biggest news contributors on eventhubs, so people would try more.

You guys are the REAL world warriors. Your people have done such a great job showing that SF really is an internationally loved game and that there are these communities all over the world, each one hosting their own gems.

Would be great if there was some way to do world regional qualifiers and fly all these great players out to Evo.

Hah! Let's go Philippines! It's true though, Tekken's the more dominant fighting game in the Philippines. But we do have an SF community and a Marvel community too. While we're no slouches when it comes to these games, what we really lack is exposure. I live in the same country and I had no idea Marvel tournaments were taking place until a few months ago. We're getting there though. :)

We're ripping it up as comicbook artists and boxers. Sad to say there's no hope for us in basketball cause we're so goddamn short. but fighting games? hell yeah!

lol i wouldn't say that tekken is the more dominant fighter now. it used to before, but now? not so much.

Yes, Tekken hasn't been as big as it used to be and the P2D community has been holding tournaments left and right for SF/Marvel/MK. Things might change when (and if) TTT2 comes out, maybe then we can add Tekken to the tournaments we hold.

There are lots of Pinoy FG communities out there, such as P2D, PinoyVersus, BB PH, etc...
