A couple of users wrote in to say that tech product site Newegg is having a 72-hour sale on a lot of products and surprisingly enough, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 preorders are on their promotional list.Would be cool if you can get the game three days earlier.
I would pre-order this at Newegg, if I didn't already have a Gamestop $25.00 giftcard. Good deal though if you don't care about the free costumes.
I was one of the many who ordered directly through Capcom and had to wait over a week for a copy. I'm probably never going to order a new release ever again. I didn't even get the free strategy guide they were issuing as an apology :/
it's listed as $39.99. Where does it say anything about $10 off? Did the sale already end or did it not start yet?
I preordered mine on amazon with my $10 coupon. They actually just lowered the price a dollar today AND they give you a costume pack. Also, same-day shipping is only $0.99.
Saving money is always worth it, especially if you were going to buy it anyway. Too bad I've already funny paid my pre-order on Amazon. I've actually traded MvC3 ($17) and Crysis 2 ($23) at Amazon a couple of months ago so I basically only paid for the shipment--which I think day-1 shipment might be free on certain pre-orders. 2-Day is definitely free for Amazon members like me.
Nah I'll take the download version on those sites heheheh.
I don't want to wait until Nov. 15th let alone wait 3 days after for the game!!!
Pre Ordered at Best Buy already. How can I say no to S.T.A.R.S Wesker?
Good deal, but I already pre-ordered at Gamestop. That Morrigan costume was too delicious to pass up.
@15 No. Amazon and Gamestop (maybe Best Buy, too) have different packs of four character alt costumes. I know Gamestop has the "Femme Fatales" pack which includes Morrigan's casual club wear and Storm's mohawk look (the reason I'm favoring Gamestop), while Amazon has the pack that includes STARS Wesker and Elvis-MODOK and some others.
It's certain that the pre-order packs + more (Nitsuma has repeatedly stated they'd like every character to have at least one alt costume) will be DLC later.
@15
Here are the pre-order bonuses and sellers you have to buy from to get them:
Better to save 10 bucks. You can always get the DLC costumes later if you want. 4 costumes shouldn't cost more than 10 dollars
Nice I just might get this one... even though I bought the MVC3 CE and was one of the lucky ones whose order got delayed a week. Gonna go with Newegg on this one.
Oh hell naw never again will I go with these bitches!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS, NYORO! If you hadn't posted it, I would have paid 43 dollars.
How To Get UMvC3 For $29.99 And Play It On Release Day (Assuming You Have The Extra Cash)!
1) Pre-order from game store of your choice.
2) Pre-order from Newegg for $29.99.
3) Get game on release day from store and play, win!
4) Few days later, get game from Newegg.
5) Take unopened NewEgg copy back to store w/store receipt & get a full refund, win!
Total Spent: $29.99 + gas traveling to store.
Note: I've done this a few times and has worked every time. But as always, your mileage may vary; just be sure the copy of the game is identical in every way before returning it.
I love Newegg and this is tempting, but I would still rather buy it when it's used.
Sorry Newegg, I already pre-ordered at Amazon with 40 dollars of game credit. Free game + costume DLC + release date shipping can't beat a 10 dollar discount + the game arriving 3 days later.
It's pretty simple guys if you have the money to spare. Keep your pre-ordered one from whatever store you pre-ordered it (we'll use best buy as the example) from AND order one form new-egg that'll come 3 days later. Now, enjoy your first pre-ordered one from day 1 and play it all you want but keep the receipt. Then when the new egg one comes in 3 days later, take that copy to best buy and return it. There, you get the game on day 1 with the costumes for $30 total.
#20 Yeah, Batman ACs, a sandbox adventure game is so much better than UMvC3, a fighting game! Never mind the fact that I was cut of 50% of the content in the game! Robin, Catwoman, Epissodic DLC, alternate costumes, I could go on! I'm gonna be forced to buy that DLC, then, OH HEY! Game of the Year Edition comes out, with all the DLC on the disc for FREE, just like they did with the first game! Oh drat!
KOF XIII is totally better than UMvC3 as well! Never mind the fact that KOF XII was a more bare-boned experience than MvC3 ever was! The series is doing so well for itself now! Oh wait...What? It isn't you say? Oh well, it's still better than UMvC3!
F*ck out of here, MALDA. No one likes you.
@40 All of those were good points, haha. Especially pointing out all the DLC in Batman. I get annoyed when people whine about UMVC3 when nearly every game does the same thing nowadays.
Honestly, out of all the DLC I've come across so far, the only one i truly disagree with is this nonsense I hear about modern warfare 3, and buying Doritos and Mountain Dew for DLC codes for extra XP points. I think that is very bad on multiple levels, and I really hope companies like Capcom ever take it that far.
Saving money wins out for me, but I already preordered my copy with Best Buy.
