Cannot wait for that Rocket Raccoon footage. After seeing just how awesome and fun they can make Phoenix Wright, it'll be amazing to see what they can do with a raccoon with guns.

Good. Frank's moveset in TvC was brilliant, and I'm all up for it returning.

If you wanted a comedy character, why not add Squirrel Girl instead of Rocket Raccoon?

It's possible to have a comedic or silly character that can still be effective. Please see Deadpool, Tron, and Felicia.

Dead Rising is one of my favorite franchises, can't wait to cover wars with ma boy Frank!

Also, for all those MvC2 Jill fans out there, I think Frank's gonna be her 'spiritual successor' in MvC3 so to speak, so he's gonna be a lot of fun to play for sure.

That would completely ruin the point of her character. She's this bubbly girl who embodies the silver age of comics who can beat down any and everything in the Marvel universe without breaking a sweat, but it always happens off panel so you never see it. Putting her in a fighting game and giving her moves and the potential to lose fights isn't very true to her character and I would go so far as to say that it would miss the point of her completely. *cough*new avengers*cough*

She would work better as a background character or a Heroes vs. Heralds card that maybe gives you access to a level 5 raging demon like hyper where the screen goes black, and when it fades in the enemy character is KO'd and Squirrel Girl jumps off screen.

As for Rocket being 'funny' or a joke, he's more of a bad ass than that. Check out Guardians of the Galaxy or Annihilation. The only reason I could see someone thinking he's a joke is because he's short bipedal raccoon who wields guns larger than most men are tall (and to great effect).

...WTF are they smoking? Do they actually read the comics? Rocket is not a supposed to be comedic character. He is taken completely seriously in the comics and for good reason. Rocket is one of the most bad ass characters in the Marvel comics, and he is one of the only characters to have single-handedly beaten Thanos. And his voice is supposed to be very disturbing, kind of coarse and sickly as a matter of fact.

If Capcom f ucked up his character, I will be very pissed. I just hope Marvel didn't let that happen, like they did with Dr. Strange.

1) Marvel oversees EVERYTHING dealing with their characters. Or did you forget when they divulged how intimate Marvel got on Dr. Strange, making sure even his hand gestures were right? They didn't select two Cosmic-side characters to promote the Cosmic-side of Marvel just to have Capcom fudge it. Rocket will be fine.

2) HE'S A TALKING RACCOON WITH GIANT GUNS. He's absurd and initially funny no matter how you look at it. In fact he still is often funny, especially in relation to his guns. Doesn't mean he can't be bad arse.

Honestly, I wish more MvC2 characters had returned to MvC3 and let the TvC characters be unique. Keeping the games a little more unique.

Capcom Characters that are in TvC AND MvC3

Ryu (duh, he was MvC2 though as well)
Chun Li (Another duh and MvC2 Veteran)
Morrigan (Another MvC2 vet)
Frank West
Zero
Viewtiful Joe

Now when you look at it like that it doesn't sound like a lot. 3 of the characters were in MvC2 already and are simply returning. However TvC is only 13v13 so a total of 26 characters. 6characters from Capcom is nearly HALF of the capcom cast from TvC

Also I still can't believe that Captain Commando didn't make it into TvC, he fits there SO well it is insane. He has the "transforming" henshin stuff like so many Tatsunoko characters, plus he has the commando team that is obviously inspired by Tatsunoko style animes. And having the Commandos would have made him a perfect balance to Tatsu's Doronjo (only better choice would have been Tron Bonne or Devilot since their personalities are similar.)

@36 I can see where you're coming from. To be honest I'm happy with what I've seen with umvc3 so far. Would I like to see all the characters that all the fans have asked for? Yes. I would love to see MegaMan X or normal MegaMan, I would love to see Gene (God Hand), I would love to see Cyclops and Gambit and all those other characters that were in the new stage on that poster, but at this point in time it's probably not gonna happen for the time being. DLC would be good; those characters so that the people who want them can spend their money on them.

At times I wish ultimate wasn't coming out so fast so that they could spend more time putting in more characters into the game. But that's how it is for like every game, you can never be truly satisfied with the final product now matter how good it is.

About adding characters though, it can be a good or bad thing. What if they did add MegaMan and it turns out to be a super crappy character or be like Zero but without a sword. Then you'll get the 'clone' arguments again like we already had with Dante and Vergil. When we want a character added, we already have this mental image in our mind about how we want that character to be and when that character doesn't meet expectations, complaining ensues... Similar to Jill's DLC release when people were sort of expecting MvC2 Jill.

I guess that's what is good about having completely new characters, you have no expectations (from prev. fighting games) about them unless you know their background.

I'm not sure what Rocket Raccoon you are thinking of. He is taken seriously in the comics, but not too seriously. The first thing everyone says when they see him is, "a Raccoon?" Not to mention, the critter is always breaking the 4th wall with his pop culture references. He is a comedic character, but just a different kind of comedy than your run of the mill goof.

Also, Magneto can shoot purple lasers because he can squeeze gravity. That is all.)

The thing is, unless you own a Wii, you never have had the chance to play as some of these great characters like Frank West or Viewful Joe. I am glad they are in the game and they make the game for mun and diverse.

Further, Capcom has to put Frank in the game in order to promote all their various Dead Rising games that have been coming out and are coming out the last few years.

I haven't warmed up to Rocket Raccoon so much as I've just accepted that he's in. Still think a character like Silver Surfer would be a lot cooler, but evidently they think they need "comedic" characters. Hope he's at least fun to play.

i wonder if rocket raccoon would be like deadpool style like saying funny things and crazy moves like phoenix wright then the character would be awesome and thats something people would like

For those who are saying, "STFU Mega Man fanboys, he's not in...get over it." The thing is, it's hard for Mega Man fans to "get over it" when Capcom keeps trolling the fanbase. If you put in Zero, people want X. They put in Dante, and now we have Vergil. I think that's reasonable.

Days of Future Past with the Mega Man poster...the only character not marked? A X, Roll, and Dr. Wily card? Need I go on? So cut the Mega Man fans some slack.

As for Rocket Raccoon, I think he'll probably be awesome. I wonder if he'll be like Cable.

#67 Yeah, Capcom is messed up for doing that. Hell, if they came out and said, "Megaman is not in the game, and he will never be in the game. Stop asking us.", that's fine. All the fanboys would shut up because it's pretty much case closed. But no, Capcom is still trying to pull off this charade and tease us with these little cameos. It's childish. Just put your foot down, Capcom.

Rocket Raccoon is who I'm really looking forward to. From what I researched, it seems that he:
-Is very fast on his feet with crisp movements.
-Is the same size as Viewtiful Joe.
-Is affected by the weight of his gun (which is determined by the last attack's strength (L, M, or H).
-Has an OTG assist called Bear Trap.
-Has a large variety of guns, some of which are bad and others are really good.
-He can aim most of his attacks in a similar fashion to Taskmaster
-his melee options aren't very strong.
-Despite the rumors, no Hyper Viper Beam or Air Hyper Viper Beam.
-Uses some sort of log for a wallbounce attack, possibly Groot

We'll get more info when he's released.

The cards are the souls of everyone from MvC 1 and MvC 2. With the souls connected to a player that's how you get the new abilities to use.
