@12
yea, screw this game
Auto block, Auto throw techs? Seriously man, GIVE ME A BREAK.
@14
seriously, i was hyped for this game but now i could care less. WTF IS AUTO TECH, i mean it wasnt easy enough to deal with throws in sf4(option select is in sfxtekken). Screw this game. WHen fighting games die again for a second time the reason wont be a secret.
Yes, because additional OPTIONAL modes (ie. gem mode) do nothing except take away from the game as a whole, right? -_-
I for one am remaining open-minded in trying out the gem mode. I think it looks interesting. What's with all the nay-saying? Is a brief auto-block for 1/3 of meter truly overpowered? Well, I guess we'll find out when it comes out, and fall back on standard mode if so.
I will say that preorder-exclusive in-game content is a big no-no however, as was suggested previously.
@17
Being open minded is one thing, but freaking AUTO BLOCK(good bye 50/50 cross ups). What next, Auto Combo?
Seriously man, nobody in there right mind should think thats a good idea.
@17
Fighting games are not about being open minded.
They are about knowing what your oponent is capable off..
For instance, I know that jumping against guile is inviting him to FLash Kick my face off. I also know that his sweep is terrible, and that I can punish the second kick after I block the first.
gems screw ALL of this up.
It destroys the integrity of fighting games.
#20 i'll let you know why people bitch...imagine you tied up to a chair and teased with your favorite dishes, while you cant moved...and after you've seen those delicious precious dishes, which's favorite of yours and is fully mouthwatered, once those dishes are stripped away from you, will it change the fact that its once appeared before your eyes and it made you mouthwatered?...
@23
just like short cuts where for noobs right?
THink about it, seriously. Take a heavy def players(thats not gonna bother to burn meter for extended combos) that knows how to block and now ur giving him free blocking just in case he screws up. U wont be able to do anything to them since any mix up will be auto blocked/teched and now he can focus on simple combos/punishs just to build bar. Thats the problem, u people dont wanna see things from a competitive lvl, u just think about it on a random guy just started playing lvl.
@chickenwings: "Thats the problem, u people dont wanna see things from a competitive lvl, u just think about it on a random guy just started playing lvl."
And that's who the game is designed for and marketed to, and that's who will buy it, and 99.9% of players of that game will never even go to a tournament, let alone enter one.
sorry dude, nobody are about your competitive players. unless you can each buy 1000 copies. Casual players have more power than you guys.
Gems like auto block will most likely only be used by beginners since they'll be more potent gems experienced / higher level players would opt for. I'm intrigued by the system as it adds another layer of strategy and variety to fights.
