Capcom has a huge universe of worthy unique characters like:Jin Saotome,Capcommando,Donovan,Blanka,Oro,Hayato anyone from Power Stone,Rival Schools,Breath of Fire etc,but instead people wanted Phoenix Wright and Frank West?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!?????????...Atleast Nova looks good.

@7,dont get mad little budy.If you learn to read well enough you will see that i simply stated that i would have prefered someone like Jin,Donovan,or Capcommando instead off PW and FW regardless of popularity(i know they are popular thats why i said"people wanted").
Author was highly requested fans asked for him over and over again in the same way they did with PW, on his reveal video you could see fans screaming like little girls on a Justin Beiber concert. Month later you see the character usage list and he is somewhere about the last 5 on that list. You know what that means? he is a waste of a character, adding him JUST FOR THE FANS did nothing, all of those idiots screaming for Author ended up using other character. Characters very much deserving the spot on the game like Dante, Wesker, ect... you know characters people requested and actually use. When you see fans asking for Strider its because you know many of them actually used him on MVC2, they are not requested him for some gimmick like everybody is doing with PW.
(Arthur isn't a waste BTW, it's just that MVC3 was rushdown-dominant so there was no reason to pick zoning chars.)
At part of the uniqueness is characters like Phoenix I for one think his fighting style is completely awesome and like no other and nova well everything about him is just sick he's my anchor

See I love your logic is based on absolutely nothing at all and entirely your opinion.
If you bothered to watch the video seth said hes a strong character and even has him apart of his team. Not to mention his level 3 doing massive damage without X factor. So how can you call him a gimmick or say hes going to be bottom tier when the game isnt even out yet and you have nothing to support your claims? Lets face it, your mad at the that they added him in instead of what a 8 year olds definition of a cool character is(or you most likely are). There is no such thing as a waste in the end some characters are gonna end up at the bottem because no one can perfectly balance a fighting game but if you can play the character well then you should be able to win. C. Viper is a perfect example shes in bottem tier and underused but is considered one of the most powerful characters in the game but is very hard to use. Either way I doubt tiers matter to someone who wouldnt be able to last in a tourney anyhow.
Calling me an 8 year old does nothing when you missed the whole point of my comment. That's the first thing, the second thing is saying that I based my logic on nothing is beyond down syndrome, specially when you can backtrack just a few threads on this blog and see the USAGE LIST!!! as proof that Author is being used less than other characters, while clearly you can remember he was highly requested by fans before the game was release. So it boils down to this, what's the point of requesting a f*cking character when it won't be use unless is OP or viable to win, if you are still just gonna pick characters that are OP or viable to win regardless of who they are?.

It comes down to skill in the end. If people can play Wright hes gonna be able to do well. But if people dont bother to learn him then he wont. I dont get whats so hard to understand about that? Arthur is a strong character but people dont like using him. Saying they wasted a spot him and pheonix is a wasted slot is silly. Its making people happy and not to mention all the people that are gonna buy the game JUST for pheonix. So that hardly seems like a wasted slot. But I guess you just hate fun and are one of those "hardcore" players.

@20 A characters viability is based on the system they play on. Given the way MvC3 system is, it's clear that it gives more tools to rushdown characters than defensive or technical characters.
Authur is not viable because the system does'nt allow it. If you take a high level Authur team and a high level Wesker team the odds are in the Wesker teams favor because of the way MvC3 plays, not just the character.
This is why the system is changing so all characters have a chance. No block on air dash was a big one for some. Many defensive characters like Authur have full screen punishing Hypers and specials that meant squat because characters like Ammy could just close the gap safley with no punish againts her.
People are entitled to their own opinion but I think your wrong to say PW and other are "wasted slots." Nobody wants to play the same character or a character like them with a different skin. I think your assesment is biased because PW and Authur are silly looking out of place characters by nature and not Galaxy destroying whores who "can't control it!"
