Capcom's NYCC plan: Phoenix Wright soon, Gem system covered?

Capcom brushed over some of their fighting game plans for New York Comic-Con on Twitter. Wes Phillips and Yoshinori Ono had this to say:

Wes Phillips: You will not object to our new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 videos tomorrow.

Yoshinori Ono: Good morning San Francisco!! I'll be to NY from here soon. I'll be announcement about SFxTK's something!!

Ono also posted an image which shows the word "Gem" on a white board which has lead some people to believe we'll be getting details on the gem system in Street Fighter X Tekken at NYCC.

Yea, Ono already stated that Gem System details would be more forthcoming at NYCC.

Veeeery interested to see what that Blanka-lover has coked up. Whatever it is, I hope it's optional if we (or the competitive scene) choose.

Wrights Marvel counterpart is RR, so he'll be revealed with him, unless Capcom pulls what they did last year and pair the characters up by company, which would make Frank paired with Wright.
Nova and Frank, will probably be revealed Friday.

i would hope that the gems give us something similar to the grooves/ism's in older games just with more cutomization. But of course with more options comes more balanceing problems.

I believe the Gem system will be pretty interesting.

I see the gems being implemented as a "Game progressor".

Like: Example; you play around 20 matches and unlock a gem type. You do a 30 hit combo and unlock another gem. You win a match meeting certain requirements and unlock another gem.

OR Ono could really f*ck everything up and create an adventure mode and make you're character run on a 3D platform traveling the world in search of fighters and what not who holds gems and you also come across them during the adventure.

Least that's what I think.

Or Ono could just say; "Buy them online and use them for advantage."

Hmm... So.. Any predictions on what time they will release the trailer? later tonight or tomorrow morning? The last trailer or the one before (with dr. strange and nemesis) I believe was released the night before they announced they were suppose to be.

I think the gem system sounds very interesting, probably a customization option will also be online mode with and without it I'm guessing because I don't think they would want to tick all the hardcore fans powerups move properties be watch it be like pocket fighter

@48 The past two reveals have happened in timezones that are ahead of the US, hence why the reveals seem to happen earlier than the day we'd expect. This is happening in New York so I wouldn't hold out for tonight.

Alot of the people that bought mvc3(people that dont post on this site) feel burnt about umvc3 being annouced/releaseing in such a short time with alot of stuff that should have been in the first verison. And they have every right to feel this way. I dont care how big a fan u are, theres a limitto how much u should put up with and umvc3 is pushing the limit.
