Tip from neoWhite.
#1 I really do hate this dude. With his cocky attitude and his Sharpie goatee, he doesn't really do much for me. Never saw a Cross Counter episode, but I'm sure they're better than this hack.
@ #1 Agreed, but I still like their stuff. Jago's personality turns a lot of people off, so that'll keep the show from getting popular, though I don't think that people realize that he's just playing a character. No one's that much of an a-hole.
I really liked this episode, especially as a Dictator player. He had some good info & the show was really funny as always.
He just took a dump on Daigo and Fuudo's careers.
"Fuudo's a bitch. I'm out." Fuudo won EVO 2011. I don't think it's this dude's place to say whether or not someone should be playing fighting games anymore. Whatever Fuudo's doing, it's working. Sure Fuudo said "surpassing Daigo is impossible" for the public to see, but I'm sure that Fuudo himself has enough confidence to beat Daigo any day of the week. Fuudo can say whatever he wants as long as he lets his game do the talking. It seems that today, people give words more weight than results.
Hell maybe it's mindgames. I wonder if people REALLY believed Ron Artest when he said "Brandon Roy is the best player I've ever played against." Or were they able to see that it was a way of him trying to get into Kobe Bryant's (who was seen as the best at that time) head.
Also gotta love how this dude still clings onto beating Daigo a year ago. Reminds me of the portrayal of Dick Eklund in The Fighter. The dude ran around saying "I knocked down Sugar Ray Leonard!" multiple times as if that was his only claim to fame.
Maybe this whole internet show is a big joke that flew over my head, or maybe the whole point of it is to get people/scrubs like me to react to ignorant comments. If so, then I applaud this guy Andre because I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I will, however shut up if Andre is using Fuudo to show that players in general shouldn't place limits upon themselves. That's something I can agree with. But to say that Fuudo, a proven winner, has a poor mindset is foolish in my opinion.
@ #9
You did indeed miss the whole point, he's getting at that players, especially newer players, shouldn't create this mental wall for themselves when trying to get better. Many players create limits for themselves by overrespecting players they think are better then them, instead of aiming to be better.
@ #10 Which is 99% of he worlds population.
I respect the dude as a player in the community but this show is drawn out and very hard to watch. I found my self falling asleep waiting for the points to come across.
Is this like a parody or something? During his "tutorial" segments, he rants the entire time about how awful the moves are, and then when he tries to demonstrate, nothing he says works.
Andre is a better player than Daigo and Fuudo.
Lol @ Viscant's leather vest in that interview clip.
@9
Your way too serious about this just know that the east coast will always talk crap no matter what happens it's just for kicks, it's better to have confidence that way then to worship players due their accomplishments knowing you won't reach that level yourself. On that note I hope USA does well in Canada.
Eventhubs your way too soft with that language barrier what are we twelve swears/cursing will always exist.
I agree with Jago about the mental barrier issue and too many aspiring players not aiming high enough. Better to tell it as it is rather than sugar coating everything.
most of you guys are soft and need to grow a pair and not take jago too seriously. hes straight to the point, tells it like it is. hes not gonna sugar coat it for you and make you feel all comfortable, hes just gonna keep it real. people need to stop worshiping these japan people. and i agree 100% with his bison segment.
@18 I agree east coast usually talks crap and I dont see much problem with it I dont talk crap but the east coast FGC has been like this for along time I guess to many new sf4 kids being soft, anyways while I wouldnt call fuudo a bitch lol I dont think I would listen to fuudo at all I dont care if he won evo or not
@9
When the hell are you getting Gears 3?
Also, I like the video.
Love him or hate him You really can't say Andre doesn't know what he is talking about. This is one of the few shows to belt out frame data and it's uses in advancing your gameplay. Mike Ross has made many comments about how he thinks having fans of his gameplay is a little odd to him. His mind set is to always improve and be the best. If you put someone on that pedestal you are much less likely to reach their level. Hell Andre went beyond giving good SF info he gave good life advice.
@24:
No, not really. Vanilla has existed since the start of 2008. The first SF4 tourney in Japan was in janury, 2008. Iyo won that year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clXppk...
Super came out in april/may 2010, but AE only replaced Vanilla in the arcades in mid of 2011. So in a way, Sagat has been dominating for 2-3 years in Vanilla because of Super not being popular among arcade players.
@18 You're= You are. Here's an example: You're in desperate need of a proper education. Your=Possessive. Here's an example: Your grammar needs a lot of work.
It's not about being soft. I just find it out of place for someone to criticize the mindset of a proven winner. Whatever he's doing, it's working. Doesn't matter where he's from. That portion of the show just reminded me a lot of Skip Bayless' "1st and 10" show. It's like he makes a bunch of controversial comments for the sake of getting attention. Guess it worked. But you can't expect everyone to be receptive of that.
@22 Don't know yet. By Christmas for sure!
Funny how Jago Doesn't think DOA is that Tournament Viable because of the counter system...Well maybe Gouken and his "borrowed" DOA counters should be banned? Oh wait no one plays him and he doesn't win 50% of the time, also you might just want to think of it as a slower version of SF3's parry, thats what its called anyway its a parry and they were doing it before Capcom....
It's good he is trying to help. But this show just doesnt work because Jago is not funny. his humor doesnt come off right. trying to establish a character is great but he needs to pick a new one. Muthaucka, you are not Athene.
I think Jago's beef with DoA's counter system is that you can intterupt a string that is hitting you unless you are being juggled. It really makes footsies and hit confirming seem less important. However like he said you could just bait the mindless counter mashing and drop your combo to punish the wiff.
Jago is a really nice guy in person. Not like other top players from new york. He could be a dick, just like any body with confidence, but hes very friendly. Helpful no matter what skill level you are. This show is very different and i didnt like it at first but its getting better. cross counter not broken down a match and taught
us how to be a better player in a while. Could be wrong. IDK. Love the part when he told the guy who asked the dante question to send him a video of him doing what he taught him ten times in a row. More of that and less a-hole character and i think he can give cross counter some comp. learned some new stuff i never knew in a short entertaining way. Good Sht Jago.
.
I stopped after the part on Fuudo.
I think its down to cultural difference, really. Fuudo is just being humble and respectful towards Daigo by saying he's a top player. I don't think he literally meant that he's unsurpassable, but more like he's there on top of the pedestal that they aspire to be.
Of course when they play, they want to give their best and try to win.
If you don't like the dry humor, that's fine. Everyone has a style. Jago acts like an ass. Mike Ross splits his time acting like he's Godlike, and acting like he and his main are both terrible. It's just a character. No need to bash him. Just don't watch it.
If you actually watch though, after every derogatory statement, Jago gives great tips and advice. He tells the tournament jitter guy to stop being a *****, but then tells him how to improve. As far as the Fuudo thing, again, he was being a jerk, but honestly, there is a difference being humble and respecting the master players (Daigo) that came before you. All Jago was trying to get across was that it's a terrible mindset to have that you feel you can't surpass a person or goal, and he is 100% right. This has nothing to do with "oh well it works for Fuudo" or "well he is the champ." That doesn't matter. Jago was using him as an example at that mindset in general, and that advice carries over into all aspects of life, not street fighter.
And finally, there is no need to compare Cross Counter and Jago as competing for viewers. They are both contributing to the community. This show is another well-done production that is getting better each episode, and is very good for only being five episodes in.
And to clarify the part about Fuudo i posted above, Jago isn't saying he believes Fuudo really doesn't believe he can beat Daigo. He is just saying none of us should ever feel that way when we come across a challenge. We can all get better if we put in the effort to learn.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, no matter how raw it is. I don't agree with the fuudo opinion completely but in general when he was talking about the mental mind state of players and their aspirations I did agree with most of what he said.
Take his opinions for a grain of salt but take the knowledge and experience he has with marvel 3 and super more seriously. I went back and watched the full "I need to vent" segment and it was simple raw facts he was stating about bison and how he compared to other characters of the cast. An eye opener if you are one of those players who get frustrated fighting bison players all the time, thinking he has way more than he needs.
True perspective is something that is missing from a lot players nowadays, so is tougher skin. And if you were honestly disrespected by anything he said you should probably reevaluate parts of your self esteem.
Keebler hit it on the head with every line that comes off wrong to you guys is a follow up statement that make's a whole lot of sense and/or is educational to newer to intermediate players. If you're turned off by abrasive personalities it's one thing but you're missing out on some great content.
You guys are taking this dude way too seriously. The reason why he is acting like an a jerk is to be different. There are so many "help me" videos that are too nice and too similar. If he was all nice and gg to everyone he would'nt be any different than Cross Counter or Assist Me.
Yeah I don't like his attitude a hs goatee is horrible, but I understand why. If you take nothing away from this video at least take this:
"Stop being a bitch!"
@34 If that's the case, then I agree with him wholeheartedly. Just seemed like he actually viewed Fuudo's words as a representation of his mindset.
@37 So take his advice seriously, but ignore him being corny as hell and trying too hard to be funny? That's possible since he actually gives good advice.
If you hate on these videos stop being a soft ass bitch. Real talk.
people that are hating on jago, are bitches, stay salty!!!!!. real talk
I hate Jago and I am a bitch? What now muthafu*kas??
How many of you actually went to Chinatown Fair and hung out with Andre? He is actually a really nice and friendly dude in person and he will willing give you advice if you ask for it when you play him. Andre getting the same rap as Justin Wong.

I stopped after the part on Fuudo."
Maybe if you had watched further you might become a better player. Jago is a top tier player that plays a low tier character (that he destroyed Daigo with btw). The rest of the video is very informative and will definitely improve your game.
"Maybe if you had watched further you might become a better player."
ROTFL, the tutorial part of the video was a joke, and I hope it was meant to be one.
"See, I can frame trap you with Wesker after the launcher and command grab you."
*gets his grab punished five times in a row*
"Ugh, oh that's throw invincible? Guess you learn something new every day!"
"Here's some important frame traps for Bison. Um hold on a second, almost got it. Dude, you're teching too early. Err, well you guys know how it works."
"Bison U2 is horrible and is too slow to punish fireballs."
*punishes Sagat's low fireball pretty late*
"Well, I'm kinda doing it too early. ON TO THE NEXT SECTION!"
im diggin these minisodes of the community players but dont over saturate the market plz cross counters is great infotainment but lacks in the humoraous side like thee online warrior does wich by himself and the lower budget imo surpasses cc anyday so hopefully i wont see everyone shows start to come out i dont really need ththere people not celebreties
I can't really handle being trolled. His language and style rub me the wrong way, but I do think that he's a good player and gives good insight into the games.
Overall, I watch and learn from the show, although I don't enjoy it much. So, I'm happy that he's doing his thing. Thumbs up.
I think the bison crying was a bit much. Yeah there are characters that have eaiser methods, but Bison is still bison.
I do hate that once his mvc3 team gets noticed then everyone calls my team
Wesker
Ryu
Trish
A Modified Jago team. That pisses me off.
@47
Hey, hey, hey. I'm just trying to help the community out. You seemed to have a misunderstanding of how to properly use you're and your. Just wanted to help you out so that you wouldn't make that mistake in the future. If you can't handle my style, then I don't know. Maybe you're too soft. K.O.!!!
cross counter looking weaker and weaker
