I dont know how valuable this is .... It's a one time-trick. It just adds another sideways layer to the same mixup, at a greater cost than is worth it. If your opponent just blocks your snapback outburst, it's pretty unsafe... you're down a meter and likely to die from x factor damaging combo. Risk is not worth the reward... a free mixup on an incoming character and saving your point character... I guess that all depends on how strong that character is.
granted you just saved wesker, and wasted some x factor time... but ... you could have just canceled into counter super... no?
@3 i agreed it has its flaws as well as it merits, its just another option to have whilst playing, which we will need to balance the rewards and risks and ultimately have to guess how the other player will react (both ways). I think its great how it adds another layer and dynamic on how we could approach this game
Also the counter super could be used with some characters (e.g. the way he showed doom with his level 3) however some have longer start ups and it might be more viable that way.
@3 Adding layers to the mixup is how high-level play is created. Finding *anything* that beats the XFGC makes the technique a bit more risky to use.
The player expending his X-Factor now has to guess whether or not his opponent will read his assault and punish, or if he can bait it, or if it's worth using the X-factor in the first place. A relatively simple punish just turned into a new mind game.
I'm sure within weeks people will have answers to punish the snapback and counters will be refined more and more and the game will evolve.
What? Wow I really need to do this for safe. But I wonder if this will work on UMvC3. Hmm...
Man you guys are tough. This is brand new technology give the guy some props. Nice find. I think its very useful.
How the **** do you react to x-factor guard cancel? This is not realistic at all.
@6
Yes of course he will immediately attack after XFGC, but the entire point of the video is that the snapback is faster. A light attack, already one of the fastest in the game comes out in 6 frames, but the snapback is just 1 frame.
This means that if someone XFGCs on you and attacks immediately afterward, the snapback will almost certainly beat out his attack clean. (Unless, as shown in the video they GC into an equally fast but more invincible move, like some lvl3s)
