I'd like to see people compete for spots on the US team rather then Justin picking (likely the same people always picked for these types of things). New blood might give us a better shot at being more competitive against others.
I thought I heard Bubble Man in there.
One of these days I'd like to see a trailer where the editor just used a scratch track of somebody just saying "wub wub wub" over and over again. That would be hilarious, but probably pretty annoying at the same time.
wow! great trailer! and great concept on all the teams :)
i was very surprised and a bit dissapointed to see that poongko wont be part of team korea
@11:
No Latif? Him and Justin are the only ones standing a fair chance against the Japanese.
Really awesome trailer by the way. Not a big fan of the music, but the trailer more than makes up for it.
@12
Slap me...typing/thinking fast at work. Forgot about Krone/Latif. You need a diverse team, so Arturo/F-Champ have to make the cut with a Sim. Justin/Ricky have the most experience against foreign competition.
Dieminion adds more depth to the team, and when was the last time he lost?
If this is tourney is post 2012 edition, maybe Latif/Krone won't be as top tier with Viper nerfs. The loss of throw invincibility is huge on her Ex Siesmo.
European dream team:
Ryan Hart
Alioune
VRyu
Louffy
Those guys should definitely be in the team.
Don't know who should be the 5th member. Evans? Starnab? Maybe even Ferdi (got some mad skills). Anyway, Europe got a good chance to take it with those players.
Wolfkrone will be attending Canada Cup as he won a qualifier at T12.
As far as I know and I could be mistaken, all of col.CC (Mike Ross, Gootecks, Combofiend, F.Champ) and EG North America (Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz, and Floe) will be attending.
I asked Latif at Evo if he would be attending and he told me he had no plans on attending during that time.
Pretty slick trailer. Tokido my hero!!!! MURDAH FACE! Hes so funny when he speaks English. Cant wait to watch this stream.
It's so silly that they leave the fifth spot for Japan as ???. EVERYONE knows it's going to be Daigo.
I doubt it will be Daigo. I am suspecting that he will be going to SOCAl in December(He did mention in interview that he will be attending a major event at the end of the year). I think Madcatz is making the right move by not bringing him to all tourneys. Otherwise, it could hinder the team, especially Mago who is in need fo international results. Twice Daigo prevented Mago from getting the top spot (in Canada2010) and the one in Socal in June.
As far as Alioune, I doubt he would go. He even opted out of the European tourney HUMANSGARDEN tourney in France. He was voted in but decided not to participate. Luffy will be replacing him.
There two more teams coming man that would be badass if Team Kuwait was sent over or it could be
*drum roll*
team West Germany & East Germany lol *troll face*
@16 straight up awesome team right there.
or team South America.
Team Canada
i wanna see:
Air (team Captain)
Moshtaba
ShinAkuma-204
Lap-Chi
JSMasters
that would be awesome...and im from Canadian too, so these guys should be our team. they all play different styles of characters so its going to be awesome to see them do 5V5 teams tourny.
Yeah, I was thinking Australia and Taiwan. If the Australians can't make it, that would be lame. They'd probably have to do Team China made up of American and Canadian immigrants or something, which they'd have to do for Team Taiwan too, most likely.
As for Team USA, it should be:
Justin Wong
Latif
Wolfkrone
Ricky Ortiz
Dieminion
Hopefully at least one of the Vipers can make it. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the East coast didn't really come out. My subs for that team would be Alex Valle, Online Tony, 801 Strider, Floe, and Filipino Champ in that order.
#25 - I'm secretly hoping for Team Kuwait as well. It would be nice to see how far the Guy player would make it. I'm not too optimistic about it happening though :(. It'll most likely be Australia and Taiwan like jhayze guessed...it makes sense.
Here's to hoping though.
@26 I thought JS Master retired.
Also yeah Team Kuwait & Taiwan would be awesome.
@29
I'd say replace krone with champ. His Dhalsim is top notch in the world. Plus, there's no need for two vipers even if she is one of the strongest characters.
@28
Issei, that famous online Dictator back in SSF4 days, the one that people say "Issei never loses" will probably also be on Taiwian.
team usa should be balanced i would say and there's a lot of possibilities ...
jwong (adon,rufus,yang)
latif/wolfkrone (viper)
dieminion (guile,honda)
ross (honda,blanka)
ortiz (rufus)
fchamp (dhalsim, seth)
sanford (sagat)
clakeyd (ibuki)
online tony (seth)
801strider (abel)
juicebox (abel, juri)
I think Strider said he wont be going due to being spent from training in japan if anything you guys should check his ask strider thread on SRK he said some amazing stuff.
I would like F champ, Ross, Vangief, and Latif
@Grimmjow316 what's Strider forum's link? I was watching AMALGAME stream when he was in Japan and he was playing 1st to 10 against SHIRO(MAKOTO) and Uryo(SAKURA) and he talked about the Japanese community in general and the BLANKA players over there.
@39
You're writing off players based on char selection?
i think it's in the Abel forums but pretty much everything you said was what I was referring too interesting read especially the Yang stuff he mentioned as well as how Nekojima has to play hella random as Abel since Yang owns him in just about all categories.
For anyone interested
http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?...
Around the bottom half he starts with some of his experiences in Japan have fun reading guys.
@ 9
You bring the whole thing to make up for France.
Anyway,Team Korea with no Poongko? Stay freeeeeeee! Idiots. Laugh is gonna carry that sh*t.
Weird to see no Poongko on Team Korea. :-/
For Team USA I'd like to see
Justin Wong (because he's Captain and the *best in the US*)
Dieminion (simply because I'd like to see how his Guile fairs against stronger competition)
Mike Ross (He does well against the twins).
Latif (one of the best Vipers in the world, and the team needs at least one high-tier)
F. Champ or Ricky (both for experience against international competition. Leaning towards Ricky solely because of character choice. Dhalsim vs. Yun isn't something I think anyone wants to see.)
I would have liked:
JWong
Latif
Champ
Hsien
OnlineTony
JWong captain
Champ is more useful than Ricky in the lineup, because Ricky and JWong play the same characters and JWong is just better. Sim might be bad against yun, but he is still very good against Ryus and Sagats which will give Rufus a hard time.
Latif and Tony have been on a roll and are just offensive powerhouses.
Hsien coz Yun is still really good, and Hsien is actually very good with him. He's a bit underrated, mostly because people think about comparing every Yun to Daigo and Kazunoko, just like OnlineTony's Seth keeps getting compared to Poongko. Well Daigo and Poongko aren't going to Canada, so let's see what the Yun/Seth 'second stringers' can do.
#54 Daigo has already been confirmed in the canada cup thread on SRK.
I hope they are selling t-shirts. I like that logo.
Cool trailer
looks like an interesting tournament should be fun
