The PlayStation Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will cost 4,800 yen in retail form, or a downloadable option that's a bit cheaper, priced at 4,300 yen will also be available. This title will be released on December 17, 2011 in Japan, but no stateside release has been revealed yet.@1
IIRC it was the same with Vanilla MvC3. I could be mistaken though.
"no stateside release"? Oh come on... just kidding
@7 can you blame them? PC is the worst platform to release any game on these days. The second a game is released it's up on every major torrent site. Not saying there isnt piracy of console games as well, but PC is just 10x worse in that aspect and game devs know they take a loss on that more than anything else.
@11 Yes I can as studies have shown recently that PC gaming is going to overtake console gaming within 2 years. Sales have rapidly increased thanks to ease of purchase from things like Steam, Direct 2 Drive, ect.
Also I can blame them because they claim to be supporting PC greatly and yet they have Dead Rising 2 OTR coming out and nothing else till mid-late 2012. They haven't even done anything about the leaderboard hackers on PC SF4AE despite sven saying that they would be doing something soon (been over a month since he said that and hasn't said anything else since.)
Ono said he was happy with PC sales. Sven said it wasn't as high as he wanted(which means it at least did decently since he didn't say it sold poorly like he did for SF4 Vanilla)
Most companies are returning to PC (Rockstar has Max Payne 3 and LA Noire coming to PC after abandoning it with RDR and not doing anything with LA Noire for 5monthes post release)
Skullgirls devs said it is very likely that they will be releasing on PC after console version is finished.
Deus Ex did very well on PC.
A large number of indie devs have moved off of XBLA and onto PC and PSN (both of which have worse piracy problems yet they'd rather develop for)
Piracy also isn't the major issue some devs would like you to think it is. The majority of people who pirate a game aren't "lost sales" as they had no intention of buying the game in the first place even if they couldn't pirate it.
Capcom is one of the few developers who do release titles on the PC but tend to be very stingy on what titles they release. Most either release the majority of titles, or don't do PC ports at all. Also Capcom is one of the only companies that continually trolls their fans by not saying "we wont or don't plan on releasing the game for PC at this time." instead they say stuff like "We aren't saying it is coming to PC but we aren't saying it isn't." or "We can't tell you anything now but that doesn't mean it isn't happening." When infact they have put no effort into trying to create or plan on ever trying to create a PC port.
So yes, I can blame them and will continue to do so.
(Lol @ 12, PC will not 'overtake' console gaming. Most likely the stats you have are inflated by korean/chinese/asian numbers.
Xbox 720 was just announced, boi.
And it's not as simple as putting UMVC3 on the PC. Marvel has to want it to. Same deal(to a lesser extent) for Tekken.
Not even sure why I responded to this, you think piracy isn't a big deal, lol....the music industry would like a word with you.)
@12 & 13
In support, I want to say that since all games are produced first on a PC and THEN coded to be run on consoles, the PC shouldn't be left out in ANY way.
Also, current consoles are now more than 5 years old, which means 5-year-old technology. In computer years, that's a lot! So consoles, unless they are modifiable, can never win the race against the PC! ;]
(You're not even trying, #17. Anyway:
'You've fallen for my trap card: Citation Needed'.)
Xbox 720 wasn't announced, it had an image in Real Steel a movie set 8years in the future. That isn't any more of an announcement than the announcement that Bigfoot is real because of the Jacks Links jerky advertisements.

Also the PC Gaming Alliance (which is made up of developers for PC games and hardware companies.) have stated that PC game piracy is actually on the decline.
Folks have contacted marvel about bringing MvC3 to the PC only to find out that it is actually up to CAPCOM to do. There are threads on both the Marvel and Capcom forums about this.
The record companies are doing worse, but individual artists are doing better than ever. This is because of the rise of digital distribution. Record companies are using Piracy as a scape goat because their business model is outdated and they haven't been willing to adapt.
Surprised Japan is getting this later than us.
