This dude has been free every time I've come across him online.
I only played against the octopus guy and hornett from TFA. This was a pretty good vid!
Hornett has a really good Sakura. Checkmate is a good player and I like that he is trying to put something out there for folks to learn.
Agree totally with Suppi. Never heard of Checkmate before but he certainly looks a decent player. Quite humble too judging by his commentary on the Ryu mirror match.
#2:
Xbox Live Warrior? I guess top 16 at Season's Beatings 4 doesn't mean anything...the guy goes back and forth with Wolfkrone at local tournaments, definitely not a fraud or just an XBL warrior.
How do I know this? Because I see it with my own eyes on a regular basis and know him personally.
Checkmate is a real down to earth guy. He's very humble and doesn't see himself as a pro. Don't know what there is to hate. I'm sure Checkmate didn't ask to be on Eventhubs, he's too humble for that and the tips on Ryu he's giving is good and makes sense.
You guys should also watch his vids when he's effing around. It's hilarious.
The internet is so full of internet killers like #2 and #5. Always ready to tell someone how they suck or how good they are. When asked to show how good they are they say they are pro and only play offline but we've never heard or seen them do anything at tournaments.
Fighting games are the one medium that if you want to talk s**t you have the perfect means of settling it. Challenge the guy online and let us watch and judge for ourselves.
I miss the youtube battles of Free1up/TKK/Checkmate/Geom those were always fun to watch.
I never said he sucked. He just played like he didn't know the matchup against Rufus. Personally, I think that fight is pretty easy for Ryu. He does come off as a good and humble dude on the video though.
How is he a scrub? His Ryu is pretty strong based on this video. Ryu has been nerfed significantly in AE and he was doing pretty well.

There's no Rufus match in that video what are you talking about.
I was responding to #14 and referring to matches I had played him online with Rufus.
TFA Ch3ckmate and TFA Wolfkrone, at least before Wolfkrone left TFA, used to be team mates. The Michigan Street Fighter community seems pretty tight knit. I look forward to more videos from TFA Ch3ckmate.
I've met Checkmate back at the east side ranbats here in MI and he's a pretty cool guy. Anybody hating on him is simply an ignorant troll ironically (moronically) judging his contributions to the FG Community with their pathetic backhanded comments. Checkmate is a solid player, and yes he used to spar with Krone and he still does from time to time. And as mentioned before, he's been to Season's Beatings and placed well considering it's one of the biggest tourneys of the year.
Good stuff, Checkmate keep it up man.
Good vid, cheers
