The operative phrase there was, "Unfortunately for you..." That means You, X fanboys :D
Being able to cancel any special move into Z-Buster seems like Zero is going to be a lot different, considering all the wacky nerfs he got/dropped combos.
O_o that win quote just makes Zero come off as a dick '_';
#Summoner you make no f***king sense???? Why would you expect news on the four remaining characters on a Video who's title clearly says its about Zero in UMVC3 from ZeroX03 who is not a capcom employee.....You called this a waste you damn idiot so one would assume your talking about this video being posted instead of eventhubs providing a video to your liking, go post your late azz irrelevant comment on a capcom unity blog or nitsuma's twitter account where it belongs......Now that's coming from someone on the rag.....
yoooo capcom trolled your soul withh that winquote OMG and he used ZERO hahahahaha what a slap in the face.
Yeah....X was a bit of a pacifist...he hated fighting.
Yeah, that winquote is golden, saw it during SDCC stream.
Wonder if I should keep him, nice buffs he got but so many interesting new chars... However, if he gets his MMZ costume, I can hardly say no.
As a megaman fan i do feel kinda trolled but Zero does say that when he is fighting, but seriously X was made by Light(he was peaceful) while Zero was made by Wily(someone who wanted to rule the world).
its about time Zero got some attention. idk, i like the buffs, but i still dnt like the Z-buster nerf... i mean it wasnt a dive kick that u could spam all day repetitively. u had to charge it. but all the unskilled Zero fags came and started that runaway with Z-buster crap, just to get cheap otg followups. good job, *ssholes. not only do u make us SKILLED Zero players look bad, but u got his best move nerfed. lovin that new quote btw lol. the pose is raw too
#4 ..Why the f...
Anyways, didn't know Zero got some buffs too that's crazy. Always having a buster at the beginning, canceling specials into buster that's pretty big, more range on his OTG's very nice too.
All these buffs are useful for my type of Zero play lol. But I pick him randomly sometimes.
He got some nasty nerfs to though, did he seriously get buffed overall @ the Zero mainers? Cause Zero was top 5 for sure..His special cancel lvl 3 is nasttyyy though
Hearing that quote is going to make a lot of X fans very salty. I know it... but I'm not. I like it.
Zero getting BUFFED? Wow.
If Ultimate had been a bit later, people would've caught on to just how broken Zero already is. I have no problem buying a new version of the game 6 months later, but this I have a problem with. They nerf the obvious OPs (Wolverine, Phoenix, Wesker), but too little time has passed to notice the sleeper OPs, so to speak. Zero is going to be the most broken character in UMvC3. I hope I'm wrong, but ...
@18 So, much, salt. Almost as much as speculation. Keep it up, look who's making *cough* us SKILLED Zero players *cough* bad. Indeed, that's you.
i don't know about zero being buffed.
when I play zero, I am mostly scared of that Lvl 3 buster causing a hard knockdown(which I thought was too cheap) then to a free mixup.
no zero actually have to try and get in to get a mixup instead of dashing up and about then lvl 3 buster, if hit(go in) if missed(run away and charge lvl 3 buster).
also these zero combos might be shorter now since the buster doesn't cause a hard knockdown anymore.
zero wasn't really a problem for me to beat with his low stamina, but i'm glad he lost some of that lvl 3 buster mixup potential. That stuff was cheeaap. Also skilled zero players stop being so elitist, you all know mvc3 didn't require much skills to begin with.
......yea that win quote is like rubbing salt into the wounded hearts of the X fans. I hope he does make it, I was always more of a Zero fan but it will no doubt make ALOT of people happy so thats a good enough reason for me.
#25 well said. Viper & Zero are both crazyyyy characters, but both are getting buffed or left unchanged. People know Viper/Zero are good, but not to many are using these chars at high levels.
The game def. needed a few more months to really figure everything out, but w/e they want money so they get money.
@27 Thank you.
I'm glad to see my point man still in good shape after the nerfs. I was specifically concerned about what changes were made to him considering just how much I played him. Now if they reveal that he has the black armor from the X series as an alt. color, I'll be happy.
Zero is definitely not top 5. Love him to death....but he just doesn't have the damage to be up there. Wolverine, Wesker, Phoenix, Magneto.....5th can be kind of debatable, generally it's a Taskmaster/She-Hulk/Sentinel in that last spot.
That's generalized though. There's always the exception like with PR Balrog's team. I hope Zero is more viable in UMVC3 though!
@38 You do know being a fan of the character doesn't automatically make you a "fanboy", right? I'm a Megaman fan too and you don't see me getting bent out out of shape over his exclusion though it was disappointing for me since I used him a LOT in MvC2.
Yeah i forgot about Taskmaster he definitely is top 5. My complaints about those top five were not there abilities, but the ease of usage. I think the ease of use and effectiveness is what made these characters so good. I know some argue that a high execution barrier shouldn't make a character op, but then you get situations like the MVC3 scene. Almost all of the characters are viable but few played and it's cuz they are easy mode. Whats the incentive of learning hard to execute charters like Viper, Morrigan, Spiderman, when Wolverine does all that they do but much easier. Brain dead setups(divekick and drillclaw) and big damage off of combos so easy u cant mess up with the laggiest of lag. Same goes for rest of top 5. Huge ass damage off the easiest combos in the game
A BIG LOL @ people saying that Zero "doesn't have the damage". With the right assists the character could kill with a single combo. He could kill a character off a throw with a Lvl 1 XF and anyone who knew how to lightning loop could kill any character off a hit as long as they had the meter.
Towards the end of MvC3s lifecycle Zero was pushing top tier easily, many would argue that he was top 5. Him being top 5 is no doubt debatable, if not then he's 6th best at worst.
He got nerfed combo-wise but who cares? Almost everyone got their combos nerfed and his buffs will probably make him scarier than he's ever been and easily top tier
@38: That alone angers me.
Seeing all these buffs and nerfs Zero has can make him a better character.
HOLY SHiZZLES THAT'S 3/4 OF ZERO'S LIFE! He's at 800,000, so that means Vergil's Lv. 3 can do 600,000 unscaled damage. Totally worth the extra level necessary!
I see alot of you guys posting, talking about top 5. I have a feeling that Iron Fist may be up there as well. You see how much damage his normals do then when he switches his chi to increase his attack damage it's INSANE!!!!
Zero in vanilla could be dhc gliched into. Dead character... With some assists you could 100 % most characters. Sick mix up on entering characters and snap back. Mad priority on his normals. He is way more dangerous than Taskmaster and C. viper. All in my opinion.
I agree with zero being up their tier wise he can be a scary character to fight 50/50s all day muti hit normals good hit box on his moves I was alittle upset when they nerfed him but honestly he has so many tools at his disposal it won't hurt him too much and I'm loving this buster cancel... And his winning pose is BA but for all those MMX fans it's looking grim with that win quote just wait till the colors come out if that blue alt is gone X may still be coming
@40: From your 3 choices I'd have to say Taskmaster. She-Hulk just does not cut it for top 5 and Sentinel, before I would have put him in the top 5 but the only thing that really makes him dangerous are his hyper armor moves. Get past those and you're good. Personally though, I probably would have put Zero in the top 5. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've come to the conclusion that he has the highest priority in the game. Whenever I go up against a Zero player I'm always afraid to attack because Zero always gets priority over mine and then I'm stuck in a long combo.
Regarding the Zero changes, I had heard that he was also getting a health buff and if that's the case, Vergil's level 3 is doing plenty more damage than 600k/800k like #46 stated.
actually it's plenty... same?
they said they buffed the damage cast wide--or they lowered everyone's health... or maybe it was both? cuz it's not the same number as vanilla regardless regardless
350k-400k is probably a slightly less significant number this time around
#43: This is what I hate about recent Capcom games. The top tier in MVC3 are..Wesker..Phoenix..Wolverine..Those are the easiest to use characters period. The least risk/reward characters...SF4 Vanilla was...Sagat..Ryu..Balrog..Zangief..= The easiest characters to use ONLINE = Strongest chars.
Thats what I hate about most of these games. I mean granted, it takes a while to figure out the more skilled chars. Not everyone thought Viper was high tier until just recently etc, but still Wesker/Wolv/Phoenix will DEF. remain top in MVC3.
I wouldn't give a shi* if Viper was the SSSSS tier of MVC3 & SSF4 for example, cause there will only be a handfull of players worldwide that'll master her anyways for exampl.
Last I heard, Vergil's lvl3 (lvl4) does 650k damage. This was from someone who had played the TGS build.
Zero is easily one of the best in mvc3. Magneto and dante can have a bad matchup against him which is unthinkable otherwise. Even wesker has a bad matchup with trish or ammy and wolvie can have a bad matchup with trish. Viper is only top 5 when played with unrealistic efficiency.
Phoenix,dante,magneto,wolverine,zero,wesker...then anymore and i'd have to construct a whole tier list but yea he got some good nerfs and that buff is huge.
@57
The problem with that is the fact that MvC3's already a REALLY simple game to play. It makes no difference, if you can't use your characters effectively, be they Phoenix or Hsien-ko, you're going to get your ass kicked.
The same applies to Vanilla SF4, if you spammed a lariat/a bunch of fireballs, people learned to stop walking into them blindly.
People that do the basic things with Wolvie/Phoenix are predictable and easily stopped; plus, with the nerfs they're both receiving, you won't see many people using them because of their "tier status." Only fans of the characters/character design will stick to them.
I've beaten genuinely good players because they opted for Phoenix without actually being able to use the character.
(By "use" I mean play with and NOT hit the control like a mad-man when in Dark Phoenix mode.)
If you've got a problem with that, don't play the fighting games Capcom produces. Before the age of online gaming, people learned how to handle these things, and until the sequel of that game came out, that's all you could do.
@27 who's salty? its actually funny. u kno, comments like the 1 i made are only critically opposed by those that i mention. u kno, the "talentless Zero fags"? u just replied to it. guess that means u were 1 of the *cough* talentless Zero fags i was talking about. whoo, ahem, excuse me.
Overall I like the Zero Changes. I'm really hoping that the j.m loop didnt get nerf since that was what i used the most (it probably did though) very glad that Ryuuenji is very viable in combos now i was always a fan of the move in the X series.
and Vergil is looking to be a very dangerous character seems like a very simple combo that does at least 300k-400k (im assuming that he can do that since most are probably gonna go DT near beginning of their combos) into lvl 3 is probably gonna kill off pretty much more than half the cast when he has meter.
X ain't the only pacifist... ALL megamen are pretty much pacifists, and didn't Frank also try to talk stuff out before his fights with the psychopaths? I'm pretty sure there's a few on the marvel side who are the same. I just get the opinion that it's a total dick move.
Zeros always been a combo maniac and these new buffs just give him even MORE options. Great buffs but he wont be the best character in the game. All speculation but I'd put him top 5 now. Still my main. That's never gonna change.
@43 and @57
Could'nt have said it better. In the Vs. Series it is all about rushdown. No matter how you tweak it. Characters who are fast, easy to use, easy to combo easy to mix up and does good damage automatically are solid characters. When simplified they are more fun to play.
With characters like Viper and Shuma Gorath they tend to be sluggish, and pointless, and their combos don't do a lot of damage. Thats what killed characters like Marrow or SonSon in MvC2 so bad, they were too techical and characters like Magneto and Sentinel just ran them over. I think most of the balancing should have been to focus on the ease of the characters.
When characters are easier to play, all that is left is the game and it's more fun even at a competitive level because now they can focus on mind games an mix ups. Other fighters seem to be getting this, why not Capcom?
#61 ;;If you've got a problem with that, don't play the fighting games Capcom produces. ''
lol no need to be all like that or assume that I don't want to play Capcom games. Its a valid complaint.. I hate when people go ''Then don't play this <insert game> again!!!'' Its a stupid reply to me, cause I enjoy the game else I would not reply so much on it, I just wanna help make it a better experience.
That said I don't think that was crit nor do I hate CC games at all, they are in fact my favorite fighters, but I think you misunderstood a little with your reply.
I get that the predictable ABUSABLE/SPAM stuff won't be effective after a while, but im just talking about how good the character is OVERALL and how LOW the learning curve is to master the OVERALL character (So..For almost no practice time you CAN be insanely hard to deal with cause of the ease of the top tiers + how strong they are at the same time).
As one mentioned, there is literally little to no reason to play similar type characters if Wolverine/Wesker does exactly what they do with shorter practice time PLUS more for LESS risk but with as much or MORE reward lol. Altho every char is easy to use pretty much, so a beginner wolverine for example will never beat me anyways. If thats what you meant, true but thats with everything.
^ Wow wall of text lol. Sorry my comment probably went a little off-track or random mid-way cause I was doing other stuff lol.
Also Cause of how MVC3 is, getting back to ''Dont use Predictable stuff'' Its veryyyyy easy to get someone in a (Almost impossible for the eye to see (One thing I do hate bout the game lol/Pure luck)) 50/50 with for example Wolverine/Wesker that it really doesn't matter if you just use the same two 50/50 mixups over and over.
You can just vary using hit left once..or hit right once cause its sooo hard to see with certain chars. And Wesker for E.G puts you in very easy, damaging, and effective 50/50's with little trouble as well. (I use him btw lol/No bias here as im crapping on him xD) in SF4 you do have to vary it up more though/more skill based
Swiss Cheese!!! (This comment is about as random as Wolverine having this move) Never have I heard him say it/perfom it in a cartoon, movie, or comic.
@67
wait wait wait wait wait wait.......... you just told the us that
"With characters like Viper and Shuma Gorath they tend to be sluggish, and pointless, and their combos don't do a lot of damage".
you freaking joking right. C Viper is one of the fastest characters in the game and one of the best tri jumps in mvc3 her damage s pretty good being that here BnB does 720 damages and i'm not including assist or dhc's. Shuma has unorthodox move set that make him good and can cope a lot of damage
please please before you post get your facts right and look at some combo vids and tutorials
I personally prefer zero alway have but I
Really hope X makes it in because of all his fans I'm not the type of person that relishes in other misfortunes so maybe DLC but everyone needs to buy this game so capcom finds that DLC won't be pointless because of sales numbers because no matter what anyone says capcom listens to thief fans more than any other company I can think of
Thanks a lot guys! =]
