Respect for that Blanka player after all those nerfs.
Why even bother posting this? We already know Daigo's the best, the Chinese own in this game, and F*ck Yun is very ironic.
#10 ....And how old are you? You are just the CUTEST little thing!
Yun, Yun, Yun, and Yun. I wish people took time to use characters who aren't so top tier. Honestly, the best way to prove your any good isnt by picking up some top tier character.
@15 - I don't blame them. When you lose at an arcade, you have to put in real money into the machine if you want to play again. If I lived there, I would absolutely think twice about picking a lesser viable character if that meant I had to potentially spend more money to play the game because I picked a weaker character instead of a stronger one.
Why bitch about the obvious? Is it an exercise in logic for the mentally challenged? Yes Yun is OP. Yes the top players list will generally be peperred with OP characters (particularly in a long-haul, league format). You think there aren't people using low-tier characters simply because 7/20 TOP players are Yun's? Logic exercise failed.
Respect to Sekiganryu for making Top 20.
I've said this in another post, but whatever. If I know for sure there's a character that will get me a win at least $75 of the time with relative ease, I'm picking him. Why? Because I much prefer winning over losing. That's the main reason I play Cable/Iron Man/Captain Commando on MvC2 onlinr whereas everyone else picks random low-tier characters. I like to win.
#19 winning is nothing if its not your skill. I always perfer low tier, and not only low tier, but characters that are hard to play. If you only like to win, you should hack the game to keep your pp low and just fight beginners. I mean wheres the fun in that? Its the challenge, the pride and the way to true greateness that makes street fighter the game it is. People who only want to win, and dont really deserve it but just dont care are actually people with a bad character to me. No offense...
@21
Well yeah, I also wanna build my PP. That's another reason I prefer winning. Otherwise, keeping my PP low would defeat the purpose. You act as if I play brainlessly, which I don't. I know my fundamentals and I use them. I also do have fun when I play, I just have more fun winning.
@21
...So someone can't have skill AND pick a top tier? Because last time I checked the cast majority of the names on this list are extremely good players in their own right and have been for quite some time.
I honestly don't care what characters anyone picks or their reasons for doing so. It doesn't really matter, and I never understood why other people's character choice and reasons for doing so can affect other people's enjoyment of the game, or the people who say other player's should pick lower tier characters because "it's boring to watch," as if these players' sole objective for playing the game is for the enjoyment of random internet posters.
Players should play whatever character they want, for whatever reasons they want, and should REALLY stop caring so much about what characters other players use. It doesn't matter. What matters is good play.
I also don't understand why people think that just because someone is playing to win, they aren't having fun. Is it written somewhere that you can't have fun and win at the same time? I don't understand.
To alot of people, winning is fun. And that's fine. Whatever gives them enjoyment of the game, good for them.
#22 You say yourself that you pick top tier because you like winning, so you are very well aware that you win more then you would with a situation that is more balanced out.
If you take yun for example, he doesnt really have shortcommings and maybe 2 bad matchups. That means you have to learn a lot less then people who have to think about how to overcome the weakspots and use the strenght of their character, and who have to know how to overcome a situation where they are in a disadvantage. I mean top tier is one thing, but a character that is overpowered like yun means you are a lot less skilled then people with the same Playerpoints for example who only play "good tier" or a weak character.
@#24 Of course they are skilled, and since everyone there picks yun, yang and fei its the skill that decides. But theys dont need to use their skills as much as they had to in super. And i actually hope, that they are in a disadvantage once, the "overpoweredness" is history, and they all of a sudden have to deal with weakspots in the character design, and are more dependend on their matchup knowledge again.
Tbh i don't see why seeing top tier characters battling it out is boring. If that was the case, wouldn't every battle seem boring because basically, theres a lot of repetition in the game. A persons skill is determined by their knowledge of the game. The more they possess, the more prepared they are when they face their opponent. The players who are shown in the top 20 are there because they have a lot of knowledge of the games mechanics and their chosen character. By applying that knowledge, they have shone through all the players throughout the region. Even if a character has more tools than another character, the player still needs to learn how to apply it correctly in order to score a victory. If anyone could use those particular characters at a high level as well as the players shown here then wouldn't that mean that the ranking list would be full of random players that are not known to the community?
#28 Its a big difference to hear people say: "öhhhm" 20times in a week, or 20times in an hour. After a short while you get annoyed to see the same stuff again and again in a short period of time.
And sure they have to know all that stuff. But they would have to know more if they wouldnt use an overpowered character. In fact, people who are skilled but refused to switch to those overpowered characters get left behind, which makes the list more random then it would be without the broken tier list.
You can never get a completely balanced game. But i hope for a better effort by capcom, and a less one sided rank list. You cant even be mad about pros, cause its about money for them and keeping to do what they love for a living and on a high level, its still a messed up situation.
@18 it kind of seems like that sometimes doesn't it? haha!
@20 I was gonna say... LOL.
@26 I also could not have said it better myself.
@28 I agree
@29 you are wrong. 28 is right.
I eat cake to suppress my depression. hey that kind of rhymed. ha haa! *cries*
oh. so some mod deleted a post, and now all of the "@#" refrences are screwed up.
character ranking = chinese character, chinese character, chinese character, chinese character, chinese character, and Shoto characters. Respect to 12 and 15, the only two character loyal people up there doing work.
