And lastly, it's not directly fighting game related, but you can see some of the booth babes that hung out on the Capcom stage, and others below.
There are more clips you can check out on Scott Popular's YouTube page as well.
no surprises there, this has been known for awhile now that the community is hurting the states in sf4 and it wont change. We are spread out over the whole country and alot of people rather save knowledge then share it. If it wasnt for youtube and everything being more or less streamed i think we would be even further behind. O well.
Mike Ross: In Japan Yun and Yang are really good, in America, Yun and Yang players suck.
And here the majority of FGC in America bitch about the twins being overpowered yet we can't even use these 'overpowered' characters well, really says alot.
@6
Yun, Yang, and Fei Long in AE are not Vanilla-Sagat and SSF4-Guile.
Yun, Yang, and Fei are the three top tiers in AE; but the catch is that to play the three of them in an efficient manner, it takes a considerable level of skills and above average executional abilities if you're playing to win. The three S-Tiers of AE are not easy to use characters.
Vanilla-Sagat and SSF4-Guile were both OP, Top-Tier, and EASY as F-ck to use. Vailla-Sagat and SSF4-Guile players can easily get away with below-average executional abilities.
Man I love that, they are so passionate (about getting raped by Japan). xD
Nah but good vid. I know all of what they speak. That technical nature the Japanese have gathered, I'm sure it comes from intense years of studying their math and science. Then just take it to the arcades and practice like crazy. US being spread out does hurt, I agree.
Japan is a very collective area, and it works well here. You'll rarely see people online helping each other, but if they did, it could make a lot of difference.
@12 Yup thats why online training in SFxT is a great start. It will bring people togeather and help eachother, I think it's a start.
To be honest I would'nt give Japan THAT much credit I think the US has the potental to become better the problem is this Americanized way of thinking. Americans put too much emphasis on Tier List, Online matches, and character wish list. We need to get out of the "My favorite character" mind set. I realized this after playing a guy in MvC3 and losing real bad, I told him I was fustrated about losing because people just keep picking Pheonix, he told me that I was actually really good but I needed to get my mind off of what characters people use. All of a sudden it clicked, it finally clicked, I realized why I was playing and what I needed to change.
People just need to click and realize the same thing. If your having fun then it's ok but if your playing to win then you need to do what is necessary to win and that includes picking the best characters. I think once people get through to that, US will be a much stronger FGC.
If Poongko is a Machine, then Japan is the factory that makes Machines.
US prioritizes hype which does make for a very exiciting FGC but don't expect it to be on par with Japan, which prioritizes efficiency due to it's unforgiving arcade scene. Players in US can be as good but the environment is just not there.
I think when you reach a level when an execution error happens once every blue moon, you stop caring about how much harder are each character. Hence, you get a lot of top players calling Viper out where lower tiers still defend her just because she's hard to use.
Ameriken would have beasted damn near everybody in the US back in the vanilla days...dunno if he's still plays as much now in AE but being that he moved from Oakland, CA to Japan his skill was way ahead of America and people like Daigo and Mago were on the same level.
