I love what Dieminion is doing. Two characters that I had preconceived as bottom 5 placing in op 3 at a tournament. Good stuff.
Wow as much I love Morrigan I would have loved to see her played more aggressively and the one combo she did produce "NOT" get dropped.
Dieminions Joe and Morrigan are TIGHT,but his strange needs a little work.I main Joe and Strange, they work good together.
I'm not a fan of starting Wright on point for specifically this reason. If you start him with only one bar, he's gonna get rushed down all day, Maya or no.
Speaking of which, Chris didn't call Maya at a lot of times he should have. A lot of the fireball onslaught would've gone away.
Finally, we get some good Morrigan action. Great screen control, but lacked in the close-quarters department.
Thing about playing Morrigan is, it's hard as hell playing up close because she has no overhead, so they can block low all day, but when they adapt to your flight cancels for instant overheads, it's a trick that wears out quick. So, in turn, full screen bullet hell was the way to go for those sets.
Major props, hopefully we'll see more Darkstalkers action in the future, we finally got diversity in freakin' tourneys! Viewtiful...so Viewtiful...
Sorry didn't get to finish.
LB NYChrisG Morrigan is LAME!!!
His Amateratsu and Ryu is Extremely good. The Best Ryu so far, but his Morrigan makes him look like a Lame scrubby player.
@3 The key is the Maya assist combined with other invincibal assist. Shield is great but Maya Assist H is great because she can't be hit out of it so it will trip up assist characters like Sentinel essentially removing drones and opening up the point character. The only problem is it takes her a long time to get back in the match since she runs out the opposite way.
Throwing and Air Throwing is another great way to stall for evidence.
As for the match, he should have just Snapped in Sentinel, he was the only one giving him trouble. Kill Sent and Mag and Ryu would have been free.
Well I don't know a whole lot about Wright, but I do know that he gains projectiles in Trial Mode for his good evidence. And with projectiles and Maya, there's no way he should have been zoned as easily as he was...
And since ChrisG ONLY used Objection when trying to rush down Ryu with Wright, I think it's pretty obvious he was just playing around.
To help with PW's evidence gathering, and combo of Maya (L, H) and Strider Y assist: Vajra works best for me. A great way to gain turn about mode with PW is to use Dr. Strange's Y assist: Bolts. If timed right you can have two jumping obejection attempts and if they fail, they are still safe due to assist. Another way is to combo into objection standing. If you hit H twice in court mode a lightbulb pops up and from there just press forward H. Final word: a team consisting of; PW / Strider / Range Assist ( Dr. Strange, Dr. Doom, Hawkeye, ETC. ) work best to get you to turn about mode I feel, hope this helps.
@2
Keep in mind that just because they appear in top 3's at certain tournaments does not mean they're not bad characters; Joe still lacks A LOT and Morrigan doesn't have much going for her aside from Astral Vision + fireballs.
Give credit where credit is due, Dieminion played extremely well and showed off great Joe knowledge. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't give up on a character just because he/she is subpar. Character loyalty goes a long way.
Damn Morrigan filling up the SCREEN with fireballs!
