Updated: The results and a stream archive of the finals have been added into this story.

Godsgarden has joined forces with Twitch.TV to say goodbye to Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition with a special “Classic Tournament.”

Some of the players attending are MCZ|Mago, eLive|Kindevu, Itsabashi Zangief, eLive|Kazunoko, cc.coL|Mike Ross and many more.

This “Classic Tournament” is unique in that it features a strict rule on which characters are made available to players as only those found in the original Street Fighter II will be allowed for tournament play. This means that of the 39 characters available in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, the only characters allowed for GODSGARDEN x TwitchTV will be Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, E.Honda, Zangief, Balrog, Sagat, Vega and M.Bison.

No. Mike just got eliminated. He fought really well this tourney. Gootecks beat several Kens earlier in the tourney but is out as well. Mike made it into top 8 I believe.

But, I only figured it out after I lost interest on the whole event due to me being confused by the title or the article.

Mike did amazing. He made a lot of awesome stuff happen and had some amazing reads. One time he almost caught a Sonic Boom with Hondas Ultra, it must have been one frame to late, but one frame to late against Guile especially with hondas Ultra is pretty amazing. But Guiles sonic boom just cant be caught thou, it was actually pretty foolish to try but still a Wow moment.

I'm glad Mike did as well as he did, since he wasn't taking this thing home with all of those Sagats. He knew it, we knew it.

Been saying all along Kuroda is overrated. He is the so called best in the worst game in the series (SF3) and he got exposed in SF4 LOL.

@41 smh most people understand that for sfiv and sf3 different skills are needed. In general, Sf3 is more attacking orientated while sfiv is more like sf2 and favours more defensive play.

Plus you expect him to be good at a game which he probably doesnt enjoy or even play as much? I doubt he'd lose any sleep on that.

Also third strike is far from the worst one (minus sales), however that is your opinion.

I like it when there's a rule where you can only use certain characters and the main reason being is that it changes the whole feel of the game, just like this tourney. It almost became like vanilla sf4 but in AE version and it is awesome. The only problem is that alot of people would use Sagat and Ken since they are very strong in AE and that can ruin the experience for many people. But in SF2, you wouldn't see a lot of players choosing Ken and Sagat, all of those players choose different characters which makes it more exciting.

I thought someone would've figured out that Sim is almost perfect for this tourney since there ain't any rush down characters.
