I like the hitbox, but to be honest you can play this game just fine on any controller. (Except maybe 360 pad, but I think they released a better one?) For the most part the execution in MvC3 is pretty simple.
Oh yea for MVC3 there is absolutely zero reason to get a stick lol. I can do the sickest Dante, Viper, Doom, Magneto combos on a controller with my eyes closed.
You really don't need a stick for any upcoming CC game I believe, I really want a reason to buy one but I dont see it. Sf X tekken will also have easier links and chains \;
What the **** can you option select better on a stick than pad?
I think players like Krone have shown that you can use one of the most execution based characters without any issues on a pad.
Only real advantage for using a stick IMO is for charge characters and ones with button mashing specials like Honda's hand slaps or Blanka's electricity.
@5 I'm one of the first buyers of the Hitbox because I had been playing with the keyboard for so long.
One of the biggest advantages of the Hitbox is you can wavedash with Wolverine and Ryu without activating the buff super and it's insanely fast. Dashing in SF4 is also much much easier.
Its only $180 from what I seen when I went to the site. I'm trying to get one next friday since I get paid then. Just wanna know if there tourney legal
@9 I get that pretty often on my stick. I'll wavedash then do the Ryu buff hyper its a pain. I've been hearing a lot about how great these sticks are. It'll help a lot of issues I have with inputs while it'll take time to get used to the stick it'll be worth it in the end.
@13 that's why you have to train with it until its second nature. That's what you did with the stick now just do the same with the Hitbox. I mean that's if you care to use it that is.
You don't walk into a new job and just automatically know what to do with it unless you spend time at the job learning what to do and getting used to what happens.

This is my first post on eventhubs, I just want to share my opinion on the hitbox controller.
I played 3rd strike in ggpo, maybe 3 years in total, the first year on keyboard, the last two years on stick. I had a really side biased execution, meaning that I could easily pull of every kind of combo when facing left, but my execution got really messy when facing right. When I heard about the hitbox I wanted to try one, but the price, shipping and waiting times turned me off (I live in Europe).
Thats when I decided to build one on my own ! I read articles and guides about modding a 360 controller into a fight stick, got myself a 360 controller and started disassembling and soldering the wires to some new bought Sanwa buttons. I have to admit, one PCB got destroyed during the process, but the second attempt was a success ^^.
I am very satisfied with the hitbox, but I still use my stick from time to time. For the hibox controller: I can definitely say that my execution has never been so on point. Side biased? Gone! Over all I really enjoy playing on my hitbox controller, the only thing I miss is the arcade like feeling and the sound of using a stick.
and at #16: No, I dont work for the company behind hitbox controllers, lmao
pig 'markman' red works for madcatz or maybe hori. pdp?
@7 I'm not a pad player, however my friend and brother are. But things like Honda 100 slaps and blanka's electricity, i feel are actually easier on pad rather than stick. You can hit between two buttons really easy and quickly on a normal PS3 pad, to the point i could spam blanka's electricity with the littliest gaps (of course this is worthless however i was checking of the possibilities). We were laughing and joking if we took it online everyone would think we were on a stick which had turbo lol.
My friend and brother says the hardest things on pad are option selects and plinking. They have both said they feel it would be impossible to charge partion on games like 3rd strike though, or atleast consistent enough
@8 hitbox is legal for all tourny's now only issue that ever came up was being able to block on both sides in marvel but that got patched.
I love the hitbox! I recommend it to everyone.
