During EG|fLoE Thanksgiving get together EG|Justin Wong jumped on fLoE's Twitch.tv channel to stream some Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
where's the chat? How am I suppose to do floeniggafloe?
I train against online players, For them its serious for me just practice
@5
Yeah. I seriously suck online, racking up more losses than wins. Online doesn't mean anything anyway other than practice.
It's hard for me to get to train with my busy schedule wife and 3 kids but when I do get some time I just hit online and try characters out
Training is good and all but it won't help you improve if your only spending 50 to 80 hours mastering a ridiculously long combo it's not gonna be enough to win consistantly. Having strong defense is just as good as offense, reading players moves, and having rushdown strats of your own will help alot. What good is that combo you been practicing for 50 hours if you can't land it?
Patience is another key thing, even in Marvel.
@10,
of course, but what you DO have control over is your offense. Take combofiend for example... He has SO many good tools for winning but one main thing I've noticed is that he rarely drops combos. AND most players KNOW which part of the combo has tricky timing. With that being said, combofiend knows where he's likely to drop a combo at and when he does.. he adjusts then continues causing resets and such. Everything else comes with experience and brain power to notice the little details. Such as fanatiq vs combofiend.. Fanatiq push blocks combo, combo does bionic arm to fanatiq's LOW life storm. He takes no damage the attack after a push block. So he sat there and doesnt punish. Combo comes back and wins. Something I didn't, and he didn't know... Small details u gotta notice.
It can be really interesting to see how top players can struggle with learning something, the same way everyone else does.
Hopefully, this encourages newer players to invest more effort into Training Mode.
