This is pretty rough, this video makes me wonder why Capcom bothered putting in some characters if they have to work twice, if not more, as hard as others to get a victory? Fei can do simple little pokes and Rekka all day but Gen has to do an insane amount more work to get anywhere. I really don't get why Capcom unashamedly favors some characters over others :-/
I don’t understand the purpose if Gen either. Probably the most technical character in the game and yet you don’t even get some advantages if you master him.
Also, I never noticed how low the damage on his Whirlwind Ultra is.

In all honesty, what's holding Gen back the most at this point is his lack of meter gain. His meterless damage potential is not that great, and yet a completed 8-hit Gekiro builds less meter than a whiffed light Shoryuken. Watch Gen's meter gain closely, by the end of a round he's built up maybe half of what his opponents have, no matter whether Gen wins or loses the round. Yun and Yang on the other hand can safely palm for meter all day without fear of punishment.

I just can't get into Cross Counter Asia. The matches are solid... but it's just not Gootecks and Mike Ross...
@12: Their personalities aren't as hot I'll admit (detest Zhi, can't understand half of what Xian says) but the material is just as high quality if not higher, and fresh. Gootecks and Mike Ross seldom get to duke it out with Japans' finest, that's what they hired these guys for I guess.

Why do you detest Zhi? He seems like a nice guy, he speaks English like its his native language, and he's not THAT big of a dork or anything.
I like all of those guys, US or Asia doesn't matter.
And Xian may be the nicest player in the world, even nicer than Mike Ross ;)
He proves that you don't need to be a dick to be good at fighting (games) and I love his choice of Gen as his new main. Thumbs up!

Firstly .. Because a character is difficult to learn does not make you a better player learning that character. Like Bruce Lee said . It's better practicing that punch 1000 time rather than learning 1000 different type of attack.
Secondo . Xian also play Yun and I am convinced Fuudo could best him.
Gen is a difficult character to learn but that not why he suck.
