Only reason why people say Hisen-ko is bad is because people never actually take the time to use her. As a Hisen-ko player, you can still win with her but you have to know what you're doing.
#2: Hsien-Ko has too many flaws to make her viable in the current cast. Her incredibly slow foot and air speed is the main factor to this. She is slow, with no real keep-away game. Her air-dash is horrible, and since you cant block out of it, its a joke when you see it. Sure, she can do some nice combos and damage, but theres so many ways to get away from her. Even her normals have poor range.
And I agree with their top tiers for the most part. IMO, Vergil, Wesker, Dante stand out above the rest.
#3 And what you say is really true which is why you need assist to back her up. I'm currently using Hsien-ko/Zero/Hawkeye and to me Zero/Hsien-ko works well and not just because of the armor assist. At least her J.M and J.S has cross up potiential
not fair played with them in casuals and got sick missed tourny. I say forget Marvel Cody 2012 baby! oh yea, can't forget Juri. (all I gotta say is C.lk, C.lk, s.mp~Hard Pinwheel FADC U2)!
Hey Capcom, here's a tip - you know there's something wrong when big name pros call you "f**king retarded" for your balance adjustments.
The fact that she has average health doesn't help either.
Some characters BnBs together with a good DHC can pretty much kill her in 8 game seconds if they get that first good hit.
My tactic against Hsien-Ko players is to keep snapping her out, kill the assists then lame her out of XF3.
And so far, for the 14 matches I had against a Hsien-Ko player, it worked 11 times.
Viewtiful Joe by himself can zone her out.
Hsien is still invincible, not sure what that was about?
I agree with Wesker and Vergil being in the top three, but Spencer/Dante over Viewtiful Joe? Nah, that ain't right at all.
I say tron is alot worse than hsien ko I mean hsien ko can at least put up abit of a fight with an assist to back her up but I do agree with flash capcom is dumb for giving wesker any buffs he needed more nerfs,ah well I still use hsien ko on my alt team so yeah XD

But those pro's can just pass over Viewtiful Joe all they want they missing out on what he can do

+Double Airdash/Triple Jump makes him very mobile
+Overhead surprises
+RHK Pressure
+Shocking Pink Tricks
+V-Dogde = safe from projectiles and some Hypers
+Can Build good ammounts of Meter.
+Slow Hyper + Snapback makes assists extremely punishable
+Small Hitbox(Better in The Air now)
-Terrible Range on Normals
-Needs a Lockdown Assist to help him keep pressure
-No Reliable OTG *Shocking Pink must be setup*

Honestly, the team who made hsien-ko messed her up. Play any darkstalkers game and you know she is anything but slow. She can't zone because her projectiles have very lttle durability and slow start up. She has no real rush down tools. Her normals don't have enough priority and they took away her gold armor tag out. She actually got worse in Ultimate imo. Sure, some of her normals are now jump cancelable and that leads to potential damage but Hsien-ko as a character doesn't deal that much damage anyways so buffing that does very little to help out her game. I don't get it though. They took away the power of hsien-ko's gold assist but gave Phoenix Wright the ability to tag out and still be in turnabout mode? wtf?

Abuse Senpu Bu: It has a faster start up and recovery now. It is also easier to combo into in UMvC3.
Don't air dash: This whole notion that you MUST air dash with HsienKo is new to me. Use normal jump Senpu Bu to cover your distance and begin your mix up. You can still block if you cancel air dash into Senpu Bu,
Use Gold Armor when close and the opponen is knocked down, and cornered, throwing out Gold Armor in the open is gonna make opponents just wait you out. Of course if they do that just DHC to your rushdown character and make them pay.
The Meta Game with Hsien Ko is deeper than most people make it out to be. Im not taking credit away from the Pros but its a biased opinion because no Pro is gonna use a hard to use character to try and win a tournament filled with a bunch of cheap a$$ Wesker, Dante, and Vergil teams. They just want their teams simple and straight foward.

I don't really care whether you think Hsien-Ko is the worst character in the game, the fact is that Flash is full of it; her gold armor stays gold when she's out, period.
Well no spaghetti Tron Bonne is gonna fall off. You can only use half of her normals now.
I don't understand Capcom sometimes.
They take Tron, a mid/low tier character who really only has two things going for her, and nerf them both, leaving her completely worthless.
Then they take Wesker, a character that's top tier, and buff him.

@23 I don't get how people still think Tron was "low" tier in Vanilla. She had one of the best assists in the game, great air dash, jumping H was one of the best air normals in the game and able to chain 3 hypers in one combo. She's beyond terribad in UMVC but I still maintain she was mid to high tier in Vanilla.
@12 LMFAO "Dante is Dante" there is literally NO other way you could have put it dude, so correct! Its hard to hate on Dante and Vergil though (specially if your a Devil May Cry fan) their combos maybe be 30 seconds long but they are awesome to look at.

just listing off the good things about her doesnt auto make her not low tier.
Tron air dash+H was all she really had going, which made her pretty predictable on how she is gonna start her offense. her so call great air dash only moved horizontal, not much versatility behind that compare to others that have options to mix up better with their air dashes. Like an empty air dash into a low attack, all tron does usually is air H until it lands. That novelty wears off pretty quick when people know what to do about it.
Chaining 3 hypers? plenty of other characters capable of doing so doesnt make them any better. Arthur can do five, morrigan can use five, thor can do like 3+, modok can loop 5, chris can empty like 3 or all 5 with assistance. Hell even hsienko can empty her meter out and also had a great assist probably even better than tron in some situations. Yet most if not all listed can be regarded as low tier.
The problem with the low tier is due to their bad match ups which tron had alot of. Just cause shes capable of doing things, doesnt mean she has the tools to do so reliably. Hell i could list of things that can make Thor sound good doesnt mean that he is. Oh geez fast air dash with H with long active frames, 1 frame command grab, can chain supers, insane damage, most health in the game, can fly.... yet thor is straight trash still.
Just about all the low tier in vanilla mvc3 had something abusable to use, and tron was one of them. hope you get it now.
@ 3 you mean tourney viable?? I guess that' s a fair asessment but she' s not garbage. Chun-Li, Strider and Hsien-Ko is one of my many newly formed teams due to Ultimates release.
@10 Viewtiful Joe is in the upper tier? That' s news to me he' s not all that great to me.
@14 not every character is gonna be exactly the same as their 2D sprite. Sometimes they are better and often times they do not translate well into the 2.5D atmosphere. See Gen, Rose and T Hawk in SF4 for proof.
@23 they purposely buff the most popular characters despite their tier placement. Capcom cares very little.

I do find it annoying that Capcom buffs the characters they think are cool and popular, and nerfs all the others. Balanced game my ***.

About UMVC3 balance...Its a CRAPCOM game...It´s normal guys..
I get that Wesker is total awesomesauce, but I don't think he's the best of the best for 2 reasons. He's not anything special in the air, and without good assists his damage can be limited since his OTG won't combo after 5-6 hits or whatever the limit is. Though, the idea of getting damage/speed boost from broken glasses is kinda stupid imo, if anything, it should be the other way around, so you would lose the boost once you got beaten a bit and you had to do the lengthy taunt to get the boost back.
I am NOT saying Wesker is bad, I have him on-point myself and he's definitely godlike, but he's not the supreme god of UMvC3. At least, imo.
As for Hsien-Ko, I enjoy using her, and honestly, X-Factor level 3 with super armor hyper is a killer, but I suspect it's rather because people don't really know her. :P

Vergil is a joke for top tier. I am so surprised they did not mention Strider as a top tier character. Dude is pretty awesome in so many ways. He puts a lot of characters to shame.
#37 No. When Vergil does his long combos it use up to 3 bars sometimes for like 900k. Stop judging him based on combo videos. In this game when most characters touch you, you die. Everyone has an average of like 700k damage now.

Are you stupid? It's Hawkeye, all he has is arrows. What the hell more do you want him to do? That's what a keepaway character does, he throws out projectiles to keep you away.
i think leilei is a lot better than people make her out to be. her only flaw is she can be lamed out real easy since she is so slow. but she controls screen space better than ne1 with that gong and he long range normals.
