I miss watching his Ryu, maybe the escape tatsu is the only missing that prefents him from going back to Ryu in 2012. Just an assumption. There's many amazing Akuma's who've been playing him forever. I just don't know if Daigo can catch up and be on par with them.
whatever get the job done, we will see people complain about Akuma soon. I think stream monster dropped Yun already, now they are moving to hating akuma.
Is Daigo still in this event?
I missed his Akuma :'(
All tourns should have this 'salt cam' its funny
Wow, cool to see Daigo's still a beast, beating Kindevu with Gouki right after Tokido, often regarded as the best Akuma player around, lost against Kindevu's Viper.

Yeah you probably rite.
It's just that, they gonna make Ken's n Fei's slp into sweep combo gone. Seth's 50-50 mix up gone, akuma's fwd throw 2frame more recovery...it seems like 2012 will be less vortex
Yun Yang nerf...so rush down will be less likely to rule in 2012
Sagat, Ryu, Dhalsim's buff...Akuma's demon flip into air firball. I'm thinking it looks like capcom really wanna turn it back into zoning kinda gameplay
Poor Nyanshi. He didn't stood a chance against Mago. In other news, Daigo's Akuma plays really differently from Tokido, Eita, etc... For some reason, he doesn't use vortex and seems to rely on footies. Never the less, it was nice and funny to watch Daigo playing Akuma. Also, I never seen a second team member select retry and go right at it, but maybe that's because most team battles requires all team members to select a different character from each other.
@30
Hell no, I'll always play Evil Ryu over Akuma.
I like how Daigo is showing Akuma has a very good zoning and footsie game, apart from the vortex play that almost all other Akumas have been focusing on.
@9
I don't think he needs to catch up. He's already as good, if not better the established players. See Kindevu vs Tokido, and then Kindevu vs Daigo.
Uhh.. Isn't Akuma basically better than Evil Ryu in every respect (e.g. - walk speed, footies, zoning game, teleport) except his health points? So what is the incentive of picking Evil Ryu over Akuma anyways?
you are 90% correct, but Evil Ryu does more damage than Akuma.
hey guys doesnt juso play on xbl? Juso isnt his gamertag though. i think its kof2002um.

Akuma is better than Evil Ryu, though the gap is closing in AE 2012. If you want to get into specifics, he got:
- Better dashes
- Better antiair (DPs with more range and Ryu's normals with tons of active frames)
- Way better stun, does more damage too (especially meterless)
- Normals have generally better hitboxes, active frames (see Ryu vs Akuma)
- Better ground fireball game
- Comboable Ultras, for better comeback chances
- More health and stun (2012 only)
Hopefully people will stop downlooking him with the health and stun boosts in 2012, that was much needed.
great stream now people are gonna complain about daigo and how he uses akuma cheesy etc. man people are just always gonna hate on the guy for stupid things.
Cant wait to see AE ver. 2012 and who everyone is gonna main/alt and such

I'm not saying Evil Ryu is better than Akuma; I agree with you. But, the aforementioned list are reasons why Akuma is better at being Akuma than Evil Ryu - not reasons why he's a better character overall. Many of these things apply to Ryu as well. But, he was an arguably better character in Vanilla, and maybe Super.
Evil Ryu is a pretty good character. But, the instant you start trying to play a vortex game, he becomes terrible. He's supposed to be played more like Ryu, with a higher damage output and a few bodega Akuma tricks.
Personally, I feel his sweep being too slow and no knock down on EX fireball are what really hurt him.
daigos akuma is so scrubby this makes me sick
@47
Yea, he's so scrubby that he lost to Kindevu's Viper while Tokido easily beaten him....oh wait, it's the other way around.
Its not really that scrubby, just a different style from all the vortex players. He should of beaten Eita tbh.
@48
Daigo didn't beat Kindevu because his Akuma is better than Tokido's. He beat Kindevu because he is better than Tokido.
Daigo plays his Akuma like its Ryu. He won't win anything big playing like that. He will need to apply some setups to go along with his already amazing zoning, which I have no doubt he will.
Daigo's akuma better than Tokido's? You need to put the crack pipe down son............
First, Yay A.E to much umvc3 everywhere.
